Hi gals! God answered my prayers.

Earlier this afternoon, my package arrived at my doorstep. My mom received it on my behalf since I was not home. It seems that they didn't charged me any postage/handling but my mom still gave the postman 50 pesos. It better than paying thousands.

I'm just lucky I guess.

I'm looking forward to my future online purchases but I'll keep in mind that I should buy items worth less than 50USD and small items only.

Thanks a lot for this thread as well because it helps me take extra careful while buying from abroad.

Mga sis. HELP po.

Pag ba nagpadala sa US ng mga dress (bulk) via DHL may babayaran ba ang client ko dun? Di ba meron naman talaga? Nagdidispute yung client ko kasi hindi ko daw binayaran yung shipping fee kaya daw sinisingil siya ng dhl.

^ lol hindi pwede yun sis, hindi ishiship ng DHL yan ng hindi bayad shipping fee. probably she's being taxed sa country nila. it's not shipping fee, import/customs tax yun. definitely hindi mo pananagutan na yung tax. batas na sa country nila yun

or much better if you call DHL and ask them about the issue.

From what I understand, any packages (unless they are tax exempt) that will enter the country has their custom tax laws. What you can do is show her proof that you already paid for the shipping fee by sending her a softcopy of the invoice.

Sa tingin ko yun sinisingil sa kanila ay yun custom tax duties.

It's probably best that before you and your buyer agree on a transaction, you should lay out what you are going to pay and what they will be expecting to pay. Mas maganda nakalagay sa online shop you are using para wala silang habol sa iyo.

This is just my suggestion though.

Congratulations, sis! I'm happy for you! Yours definitely took a shorter time to deliver than mine.

I was planning to order Hello Kitty plushies to go with the free shipping they were offering for Father's Day but I was sort of afraid that I won't be that lucky the second time around, and it might be held up by Bureau of Customs (which would be pretty bad cause we don't have a driver anymore and it would be such a hassle to go to EMS Pasay just to claim my package especially in this rainy season), so I decided against it... though I'm lusting for it quite bad.

Yun din ang alam ko. Tax yung babayaran niya eh. Sabi pa nga niya matagal na siya nagiimport ng items tapos ngayon lang daw siya siningil ng ganon.

Nagopen na siya ng case sa Paypal. Nagdispute na siya pero hindi naman yata inopen yung case sakin ng paypal. hmmm.

sis as far as i know, kasama sa agreement yun sa paypal. hindi ka naman maddispute dyan because hindi mo na handle ang tax and importation duties sa country nila. bahala sya kamo, lol. alam ng paypal yan. basta nareceive nya item as described and kumpleto, yun na yun. as for taxes, sya na may shoulder nun.

sisses, 1st time to try EMS.. I am from Cavite, and may items ako from China 5.5kg. As per tracking, nasa Customs na raw. Should I already go to Pasay, or door to door ba ito?

Given the weight and status of the parcel, it's most probably in EMS Pasay. It won't be door-to-door. Better call EMS Pasay first to ask if your parcel is with them.

Last December, my boyfriend sent me a DSLR and other items for my Christmas gifts. He sent them through UPS kasi trusted na daw nya yung company. Sinabi din niya sa UPS na siya na magshoshoulder lahat ng fees, tax and everything para wala na ko babayaran pagdating dito ng package. Tapos pagdating dito nagbayad pa ako ng P3950 dun sa nagdeliver para sa daw sa customs tax. Nag-init ulo ko ha! dahil sa mga horror stories na nabasa ko dito sa Girltalk. Pero my boyfriend made me pay na lang, lalo na I was excited for my gifts.

Tapos nung dumating si bf dito sa Pinas at kinulit ko kung magkano binayaran nya sa shipping, more than $300! And with paper works pa saying he paid all the necessary taxes pati yung suppose to be babayaran ko pagdating ng package... kainis!

Because of the ridiculous taxes I've given up selling locally.

Anyway, I think the best way talaga para maiwasan magbayad ng taxes is to use Balikbayan Box.

It's not that I don't want to pay taxes BUT sana naman fair yung pag-compute nila ng taxes. Hindi ko maintindihan bakit kailangan
kasama ang shipping sa pagcompute. Tapos may invoice na at lahat, hindi pa naniniwala yung customs officer sa value
ng item.

Question lang. Pag "held by customs at destination" ang status anong gagawin? via EMS po. saka 12$ lang yung value.

Nasa Pasay daw po yung item. Kailangan ko ba po bang pumunta dun or mag hihintay pa ako notice? ang layo po ng Pasay samin, hindi ba pwedeng ipa transfer sa Local Post office namin yung item?

ang liit lang nun, sing laki lang sobre.
