at ang binayaran ko sa phil post ay "express" which is supposedly 5 days maximum lang

@_AiaH_ Sis, do you happen to know the computation when it comes to that? So I can expect how much to pay for (and how much to bring once I get the thumbs-up to pick up the parcel). The declared value of the phone is $190 including shipping (this is in conjunction with an official receipt the seller sent me via e-mail and asked me to just print it out in case I might encounter problems with the local customs). Do they follow that price (declared value and official receipt) when it comes to computing for the taxes?

yung sakin kasi ang nakalagay lang arrived at country PH april 8 after that wala ng update hindi din ako sure if nagiiba ba yung status kasi since then yan lang nakalagay or baka kasi through registered mail lang siya via singapore post

if via registered mail sis, check with your local PO. most likely nasa kanila na yung item. ang tracking talaga ng registered hanggang destination country lang, if nag arrive na. medyo luma pa kasi system ng philpost satin. EMS lang talaga may update na ganun hanggang sa kung sino ang nagreceive ng package.

sis is this via EMS? you have to claim it sa customs sa pasay if you're in metro manila if nakalagay na nasa customs to. baka itatax nila. tawad ka nalang

10kls is almost always taxable. ang laki/bigat eh.

hindi siya EMS sis, its SAL (air parcel) from JAPAN.. sabi din saken sa postoffice if air parcel not trackable talaga pero mine is showing yung location (baka pinaregister nung pinagbilhan ko, declare as gift pa nga) I won them sa auction.. (alam ko bawal mag-undeclare ng value sa Japan, lalo na kung di naman balik bayan box yun or pinoy nagpadala) in bulk kasi siya parang mga halo halo Junk/Unused/Brandnew toys from japan, I got it really cheap kahit na ang 10kilos siya.. wala pa siya sa import value na taxable na worth 2000 in peso.. we plan to go there sa Pasay tomorrow, dahil ko ang tracking results para katunayan.. kasi ang tagal nadin sa customs di gumagalaw.

meron nadin kasi nabili auction same weight, seller at SAL din pero mas mahal ng onti, taxable na.. but i got it in 3 weeks time.. pero I paid 1200 sa local PO namen. Ang weird lang bakit this time I have to pick it up at mahassle para pumunta pa sa Pasay.

tsaka pala, nagpatulong nadin ako kahapon sa custom broker na friend ko... nakita niya ang box sa customs kaso she is asking me to pay for 4k para daw mapabilis ang release pero di ko keri magbayad ng ganun kalaki kasi mas mahal pa ang hinihingi niya sa value ng item at di naman for retail purpose yung binili ko.. pero she assures me na marerelease ang item same day and makukuha ko ang parcel sa Local PO next day... kaya no choice I have to gamble tomorrow to check my item if makukuha ko siya. hahay.. T_T bulok talaga ang philpost/customs dito sa pinas.

hay stressing and depressing, yesterday nag google ako andaming horror stories ng post office when it comes to packages actually nagraise na ko ng enquiry with sing post first week ng May then nagreply sila sakin ng 23rd May sabi nila wala pa daw reply sa kanila ang philpost natin
yung value ng item nasa $200 plus din pero if ever $68 lang ang maibabalik hoping ako na mareceive pa din niya grabe lahat ng email address ini-email ko na pati sa customs walang mga reply yung isa nagbounce back pa kasi puno na daw ang inbox

Tracked my EMS parcel yesterday and was finally updated that my much-awaited package is already in customs. 

Went to EMS Pasay and Bureau of Customs this afternoon to claim the items (didn't bother waiting for their notice card to be mailed). Everything went fast and smooth because of my super charismatic and highly-skilled PR mom to talk her way into things (and thank goodness I named her as the consignee). But in all honesty, the employees opening up the parcels are horrifying. They especially pointed out all the designer and branded items, and if your box didn't come with an invoice (even if it's a gift and you got it from relatives, etc - good thing all parcels from Japan require an invoice to be shipped out), I believe you're dead meat to those vultures. Anyway, I was lucky enough that the seller made a dummy invoice and waaay undervalued my mobile phone and additional accessories, even slashing 400USD off the retail price, so I was only charged P1,600+ for the taxes and duties. Then Mommy haggled the assessment employee, who agreed to P1,500. Then the computation guy even gave it to us for P1,223. So far, I'm okay with that fee. My classmate who ordered the same mobile phone before me was charged P2,500+ for the taxes.

bye bye EMS. Finally found a reliable forwarder from HK/ China. Dati yung stuff ko through UPS.
I paid 5k for the tax alone. I made tawad na ha. Dati yung binabayad ng husband ko sa EMS around 8k
because of the tax. Ngayon less than 2k nalang (tax included) with our new forwarder. Now I can go sasa shopping lol.

Bought a couple of stuff from Strapya World (Japan) for my keitai denwa.

My sub-total is 50.30USD, but I asked the customer support to kindly declare my parcel 50USD flat - hoping that it will elude customs (It's a pretty small package anyway cause it's mostly decorative stickers and straps for my mobile) and will be delivered straight at my doorstep. I was charged 9.8USD for shipping. Beforehand, I kept on sending them emails regarding a couple of inquiries about some items listed but they never replied, so I got sick of waiting (mostly I just want the cute items so badly) and just paid for them via PayPal, hoping that they would finally respond once paid, which worked because they replied immediately afterwards. Including in my orders is a personalized keitai strap so it took 3 working days before my orders will be ready for shipping. Courier used was EMS, and yesterday I was finally given the tracking number. YAAAY! Can't wait! Hopefully I'll be getting it on Monday.

just want to ask, has anyone tried sending electronic devices (mobile phones, cameras, laptops etc) from Phils to US via EMS?

how much would it cost and is it safe? also will the package be subjected to tax pagdating sa US?

My EMS parcel from Osaka, Japan finally delivered right at my doorstep this afternoon! The postman charged me P50, and I'm so thankful that I didn't have to go to EMS Pasay just to get my items and be taxed on top of that. Thank God for answering my prayers! 

My parcel arrived in Manila last Friday (Arrival at inward office of exchange). After zero updates following that, I was starting to worry that it might not be a door-to-door delivery. When I came home last night, I was updated by EMS that my parcel is in "Retention - PHZONE". I didn't know what that meant, and the 'retention' term scared me. Upon searching the net, I found out that it must be out for delivery. That, or I'll have to pick it up at the nearest post office. I had been trying to reach EMS through land line the entire day, but my calls were just getting dropped, so I got worried. I was about to leave for the post office, but decided against it. That was actually a blessing in disguise because a couple of minutes, a postman dropped by to deliver my parcel. Turns out that he dropped by yesterday but didn't hand over the parcel to our helper because he said family members are the only ones allowed to receive it and we were out shopping yesterday. He was supposed to just give the notice card today if we were still not around. Thank goodness!

Hello, due to my excitement of availing the free shipping promo at Strapya World, I forgot about additional charges I might incur. I was wondering what currency denomination that will be printed in the invoice by Strapya World? The items I bought cost 62.30 USD. I'm hoping I will  not be charged additional tax since they are only cellphone accesories.

@lilin08 It's in USD if I'm not mistaken. Based on what I've read, there is less possibility of being taxed if the amount is less than 50USD. But then again, there's always the 50-50 chance that you will.

Thanks for the info.   I fear for the worst.
I'm praying that I don't get tax. You know how Customs works. At the least, I'll be taking more precaution for my future imports. I forgot how scary things are when it comes to buying things from abroad.

Edit: Just check and currently my package is in the inward office here in PH. Hopefully I could get it tomorrow without any hassle.

@lilin08 The feeling is sort of a mix of excitement and anxiousness. I mean, honestly, I'm more excited about getting my item that I don't really care how much taxes I'll have to pay as long as I can finally get my hands on the parcel (and as long as the tax is reasonable and exactly according to the duties, of course). The low to zero amount of tax would just be a plus. But then of course, that doesn't really stop me from praying over and over that I won't get taxed.
