Tips and suggestions on where to stay in Hongkong

dear girltalkers, lets post here your tips and suggestions on where to stay when your in hongkong. you can also post your past experiences about your stay in a hotel, aparment, backpackers, bed and breakfast etc.

our aim here is to help or give ideas to fellow girltakers na may coming trip  to hongkong. thanks in advence

Renaissance Harbour View Hotel
- good location and only about 5-10 mins walk from Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station. A short walk from the Avenue of the Stars. It's connected to the New World Centre Mall. From the airport, we boarded the K4 bus and were dropped off right infront of the hotel.. very convenient! The room was a little small in size and when we requested for an extra bed (for the 3rd person), sumikip! halos dumikit na yung isang bed sa closet
- the receptionist was rude! bf was waiting in line for his turn to check in and i think he was just right behind the customer at the front of the queue. sabi ba naman nung receptionist, "step back" with her hand making the shoo gesture and without the "please" ha. Had i heard that, I would have given her a mouthful!

SkyCity Marriott Hotel
- They couldn't check us in on time. We had to leave our luggages to the reception kasi sayang ang oras at gustong gusto na namin gumala. We didn't get to see our room until about 10PM. There were 6 of us and the toiletries, bath robes, towels, slippers were good for 4 only. I had to call their attention several times pa before they delivered the extra rollaway beds. First day was really stressful.
- good points: buffet was good.. free shuttle going to Tung Chung and back.. very near the airport and the Disneyland but quite far from Kowloon

Kowloon Hotel (Harbour Plaza group)
- the best location for me! Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station right at its doorstep. Malapit sa 7-11. Room was tidy but very tiny!
- Nothing remarkable but I enjoyed my stay and didn't have any complaints naman.

I always prefer to stay in the TST area because everything seems to be accessible.

we stayed at BP International in Kowloon. It's a 3-star hotel and I may say, it has a nice location and a small but neat rooms.

Yung sa BP namin noon, P18k 4D3N w/ breakfast and disneyland (2pax)
Reli Travels and Tours kami nagpabook sa may SM Megamall.

^ same here sis sa Reli din ako and stayed at BP International. Okay ang location, clean rooms and polite staff

JW Marriot Hongkong side is a favorite of ours... it connects to Pacific Place where all my favorite brands are.
    TST side = Langham Hotel on Peking Road by the DFS on Canton Rd.
    All the brands are lined up there along Canton Road.   
    H & M  is there too now.

Ever reliable SHAMROCK hotel right beside the mtr jordan station. room is ok, we stayed at their best room big enough for 4 persons. free in room internet and daily buffet breakfast at the 10th floor. and the staff were all super nice to filipinos !

Last time we're in HK we stayed at Evergreen Hotel..mga less than 5 mins. walk to MTR station..mura and malinis pa..

I have stayed at Park Lane Hotel, Regal Hotel, Excelsior, Island Shangri-La and Marco Polo Hotel. Pinaka-convenient for me Park Lane if sa HK side. If sa Kowloon side, Marco Polo Hotel. Maraming shops malapit sa mga hotels na ito and may MTR stations nearby.

@sis greize, yung 18k ba for hotel and disneyland lang? no airfare? and for two ba lahat or yung for two ay yung disneyland ticket lang?

yes we were 6 but booked two connecting rooms.. if you're 5, masikip na siguro para sa inyo..

The room was 1400HKD for 3 pax.. with complimentary Disneyland tickets + breakfast buffet.. we paid 2800PHP per head.. Disneyland is around 2000 so parang 800 lang yung room namin per head.. good deal considering 5-star accommodation sya..

Shamrock hotel in jordan kowloon HKD700 with free daily buffet breakfast and in room internet. free local calls, location is beside mrt jordan station. this is along nathan road which houses lots of shops !

Has anyone tried na Harbour Plaza Resort City? P11k something for 2 persons, 4D/3N. It's 5-star so I'm thinking baka super good deal na yun. The standard room has a mini sala na and a kitchinette. Yun na kase ang best bet ko from all the other hotels na niresearch ko.

Back in 2007, we stayed at Rambler Dorsett. Ok naman. But kinda far from everything.

We stayed sa isang boarding house, pinoy yung nagpaparent. HKD 60 per head. Yung isang room can accommodate 3 persons. Pero since honeymoon namin yun, we reserved the whole room and we paid for 2 lang. Quite a bargain. 3 rooms yun sa isang apartment and pinoy din yung mga boarders. Its a no frills room, pero comfortable naman.

Anne Black Guest house is the ultimate low priced hotel in Hongkong. last time nag stay kami ng firends ko ay 150 Hongkong dollars lang overnyte. rooms were clean, decent, and comfortable . located at waterloo road just a few minutes walk to MTR. i'm not so sure if the same padin yung rate nila. look for their website nalang po.
