Expensive magpagamot ng TMJ disorder . May mga phases kasi ang treatment. Phase 1 is wearing splint to train the jaw and muscles to a more relaxed position. My dentist said I have to wear it 24/7 for 6 months. Phase 2 is I need to get braces for my teeth para daw ma-correct yung bite ko. For how much aabutin lahat-lahat kapag natapos mo ang phases ng treatment? Depende sa dentist na magti-treat syo and depends din sa case ng teeth mo. Pero let's just say na makakabili ka na ng isang laptop with iPad retina, and sama mo na rin isang hi-end cellphone. Some dentist puede naman installment ang bayad like my dentist nagdown payment ako sa kanya ng P15K then 5 months to pay yung remaining. My only suggestion to you, magpa-consult ka sa dentist and orthodontist na TMJ specialist talaga kasi mahirap na ang magti-treat na dentist syo eh wala namang background sa paggagamot ng TMJ disorder

Its really a pricy treatment, lets say pang down payment na ng car.haha
So if you decided to go on a treatment, make sure of your dentist para wag double ang gastos.

anyone here nagkaroon ng positive change sa face after splint or any TMJ treatment? I got my wisdom tooth extracted kasi and I noticed facial change right after. I also developed a nasty case of TMJ. May ni recommend sa akin na TMJ specialist, her name is Doctor Eileen Manalang.

Kasi pag mag e-extract daw ng tooth. Yong remaining teeth mo goes backward to fill in the spaces. If this happens, your face (maxill/upper jaw) moves backward din resulting to a negative facial change and tmj. Your face gets shorter, your jaw and cheeks are less prominent, pati eyes mo will look different. eto nangyari sa akin.

I consulted a TMJ specialist earlier and she charges PHP 50K for Phase I (6 months) not including the splint pa yata yon which is another PHP 10K. Tapos ortho na yung Phase II which I assume will be more expensive. Hindi pa naman covered ng company health card namin yan.

(On top of that, I'm paying for my mom's thyroid treatment. Ang gastos. Hayyy.)

ako nagkaroon din ng changes sa face. di ko alam kung pumayat lang ba ako or tumanda lang ako pero parang mas cute ako dati hahaha ( kidding aside, yup medyo sa negative side yung facial change na nangyari saken.. saka pati yung smile ko nagiba na rin.. yung face ko parang humaba sya and pumayat. mas naging ma-cheek ako ngayon.. malapit na raw ako matapos ng phase 2.. then nagpabunot din ako ng 4 na third molars.. almost 2 yrs na ko dito sa treatment na to.. sana matapos before the year ends para makakain na ko ng kahit ano hehe. my dentist is doc claudz03 all the way from maginhawa, qc. Im from paranaque btw and i religiously go to her every month, walang mintis teehee

Ako rin sis feeling ko mas cute ako dati  humaba din kasi face ko at mas naging prominent cheekbones ko kaya mukhang pumayat face ko hindi na ata babalik sa dati ito kahit na matapos pa treatment

^ same here bigla ako nagworry. dati kasi di ko pansin. may clicking sounds din ako at madalas nangangalay sa pagnguya. just a week ago nag lockjaw ako. sobrang sakit i cant talk or eat. massage sa may cheeks/ear area tapos hot compress.after 3 days naging ok na. pero parang i can feel na very sensitive na yung area na anytime pwede uli maglock.
