badtrip! first day namin sa beijing, na-scam agad ng rickshaw!!

yeah kami muntik na nung papuntang Great Wall. May mga manloloko ng nakaabang sa daan, sasabihin na yun ang bus station yun pala hindi at pag nainip ka, ooferan ka ng 100 yuan para ihatid ka sa Great wall. We wasted 30 minutes of our time until we found the right bus station. It just cost as 24 yuan for a roundtrip fare to Badaling great Wall. Wala naman rin kaming nakita since it was very foggy. We were able to navigate Beijing just by there subway. We are a group of 14. Akay akay ko mga team mates ko since I was the only who did the research. Ugali ko ng magresearch sa forums at sites when traveling. I don't want to waste time and money.

Here are some tips for would be travelers.
1. Find a hotel/inn that is near to subway stations. We stayed in King's Joy Hosted at 120 yuan/head with free breakfast. 15 minute walk from tianamen square and forbidden city. walking distance din sya sa mga hutongs.

2. learn to navigate beijing subway. It wil save you a lot of time and yuan.  I find this site very useful. http://www.travelchinaguide.com yan lang binasa ko sa pag navigate ng subway. It is equally important to know your exit gates. Otherwise, mapapalaban ka sa lakaran. Bumili na kayo ng yikatong to save time in queuing. Pwede din sya sa bus. It is like an MRT card. It has a deposit of 20 yuan pero refundable naman sya in certain stations.

I'm currently in Tianjin for a month long training. weather here is like Baguio. I only saw a blue sky thrice that's how smoggy the place is. There is a big mall right across to the hotel we are staying. and ang luwang luwang hindi congested ng tao. We bougth some groceries there at inabutan kami ng closing ng mall. Yung mga employees nakahilera sa daan, and when you pass by them, nagbobow sila thanking you. Nahiya naman kami, maybe they were just waiting for us to go home. Feeling din namin we were royalty. they were very courteous. Everyday is a car show here. Nagkalat ang mga audi, bmw at porshe.  Ang sasarap din ng mga bread and pastries nila dito. And very creative and colorful mga cakes nila. But I haven't got used to the food here. Miss ko na ang nilaga and sinigang sa Pinas. It's just a matter of days, uwi na rin ako next week. Can't wait to get home.

Hello. :-) newbie here. Planning to go to beijing on september 7, what should we wear for touring para comfortable buy still presentable? Are boots too much for this season or just right? Kinda confused abt the weather coz its supposedly autumn pero iba iba yung weather forecasts kasi border ng two seasons yung first week of september. Any tips? Thanks.:-)

Planning to go to Beijing in December. Pero I'm a bit apprehensive now after reading and finding out that December weather is bitterly cold (plus the strong winds pa!). Am I crazy to go ahead with it?

^^I believe its too much if you wear boots in September. Temperatures (according to google) is around
25deg celcius and low is 13deg. Mainit pa yan eh. Comfortable ballet flats would be good.



^I was there last year January (the coldest month daw) but survived naman. Hassle lang kasi the luggage is
heavier than going there during the spring months.

super dali lang kumuha ng china visa basta complete requirements. If you are planning to get a tour
package get an invitation letter directly from the China travel agency you will get your tour from.
The invitation letter would secure you a visa. No need to show na ITR and bank certificate.

I backread thread na bout getting a China visa and req. talaga ITR which is wala ako. And i really wanna visit ;(

Last resort ko nalang is Accredited travel agency in china kahit medyo pricey (as they say). Do you have any recommendations?

If not employed, may kasama ka na mag travel?

^^ your best bet would be to get an invitation letter from an accredited travel agency in China. No need for ITR etc

Sharing mine..

Hindi ako prepared at nagbook lang ako ng tickets dahil naglaunch bigla ang AirAsia ng flights to Shanghai. Alam ko din mahirap kumuha ng visa. Pero dahil 4,000 lang naman RT at company shutdown kami, try ko na.

For Visa:
1. wala akong Bank Certificate na may 100k. Actually half of it lang. P48k to be exact.

2. ang ADB sa ATM account ko less than P80! Haha
(ang BPI save up account pala hindi nagbibigay ng bank certi. so ang atm account ko sympre walang ADB ha higit P100.)

3. hindi ako nagsubmit/nagbayad for invitation letter pero nagpasubmit ako thru travel agency. nagbayad ako ng processing fee sa kanila.

4. feeling ko mas okay sana kung sabay sabay kami ng friends kong mag-apply, pero hindi rin pala. non-bearing to.


So sa totoo lang, medyo worried din ako. Pero all other requirements like ITR, roundtrip ticket, hotel bookings, etc, meron naman ako sinubmit.

Yun, got my visa yesterday! Just in time for our Dec25 trip.
So sa palagay ko di na masyado mahigpit ang China sa 100k na Bank Certi at ADB.

Congrats sis. I heard nga din hindi na sila strict sa 100k adb. It was during the time nagalit sila sa PH dahil sa Scarbourough shoal kaya they came up with that rule in 2012. But kahit a few months ago i read from another thread na its okay if you dont have 100k adb. Basta decent amount and you have itr and coe.

Depende sis eh. Like their facebook page so you'll be updated. Yung nabili ko na 5k, i bought june or july 2012 and we flew january 2013. Open jaw pa yung binili ko (manila-beijing, shanghai-manila).

or once you apply approval or no approval you have to pay the fees??
