I'm still single, but i always make sure i bring my own food to work...mas healthy kasi at mas masarap ang baon kaysa dun sa nabibili sa canteen-tipid pa ako ;)

just want to share:
*Tuna pasta*
1. drain 1 can of tuna flakes
2. saute garlic & tuna in olive oil
3. toss cooked pasta, then serve! :D

*fish patties*
1. drain 1 can of salmon(or tuna)-you can also used flaked steamed fish
2. in a bowl, beat egg, then add the fish
3. season with a bit of salt.
4. Fry

hope that helps! :D

home made patty with hidden veggies
magpagiling kayo ng lean pork or beef tpos isabay nyo na [textspeak!] carrots, kingchay and potatoes... lagyan ng itlog and seasoning, then gawing burger patty shape set aside muna sa freezer before i-fried... pwede siya ulam or palaman sa tinapay...

My son naman, he's in grade 3. 7-12 ang schedule niya. Kumakain na ng rice & ulam dito sa bahay yun bago umalis, so most of the time, he prefers sandwiches para sa snack niya. Sometimes he likes rice din.

The usual:
1. Burger patties: fry the burger(pwedeng home-made or store-bought); set aside. Mix mayo & ketchup, yun ang base ng bun. I have cabbage in the ref, shred ko lang ng konti, add ko na sa ketchup-mayo mix (it's a good camouflage para sa veggie). Then patong na yung burger, followed by a cheese square.

2. Chicken tenders: parang fish fillet din ang style; ang substitute ko for Japanese breadcrumbs, dinurog na corn flakes. But I wake up mga 4:30 kasi after frying for a short while, I bake the tenders para super lambot and yummy. Healthier din.

3. I also experimented with our left-over lechon manok. I shredded the meat, fried in a very small amount of butter; then I added some cauliflower florets; nag-scramble ako ng egg with just a little salt, then I poured it on top of the chicken & cauli. Ayun, one new tasty omelet baon for my son again. If you like, pwedeng mag-grate ng konting cheese on top bago maluto.

wowww!!! heavenly food. hehe.. sarap mo naman maging mommy! pero yeah, i suggest din na healthy foods ang dapat ipabaon sa kids! :)

we do the tuna pasta too since I like oil based pasta. for my sis, we add Del Monte Gourmet Sauce (usually carbonara) to the tuna :) for the fish patties, we usually use corned tuna so parang torta lang din sya :)

basta you have sauteed ground meat, you can make patties, omelette or kahit you add oyster sauce or tomato sauce lang then iba-iba na ulam mo :)

yung magnolia chicken korean bbq, nahihirapan kami hanapin minsan kasi wala sa grocery (the one in blue plastic ata yun), so we sometimes would just buy chicken or pork fillet/ strip & Clara Ole korean bbq marinade :)

Homemade Corndogs - mix flour, salt  sugar, egg, milk and oatmeal. The batter should be thick. Place mini skewers/toothpick into your cocktail hotdogs. Roll your hotdog into a little flour before dipping them into your batter then deep fry. Place this on top of paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Quesadilla - on one side of your flour tortilla, place the cheese and meat (leftover adobo or roast chicken is good). Fold it in half. In a pan, put a little olive oil or butter and pan toast your tortilla until the cheese melts. Cut into half before putting into your container.

Soft taco - pile your leftover roast chicken or adobo and apple slices (thinly slice the apple and squeeze a little lemon on it to avoid oxidation). You can add a little Japanese mayo or cream cheese. Roll like a shawarma.

Pesto Chicken fingers - i always have this in the ref for quick pambaon/ulam option for the kids.slice your boneless chicken fillets into long strips. Place some mc cormick pesto powder.  To bread the chicken strips: dredge in flour, egg + milk mixture, then bread crumbs. Deep fry and then put on top of paper towels to absorb excess oil.

i personally love topping it with crunchy peanut butter. Pwede rin after you spread peanut butter, roll it to make it into bite-size pieces then secure with a toothpick nalang. pag naka-roll, parang nagiging filling nya yung peanut butter :) you can use Nutella too.

^ I also do the roll-up thing with pancakes.  Fillings or toppings are peanut butter, strips of cheese, cheese whiz, etc.

I am glad I saw this thread.  Daming ideas.  :)

Stumbled on this thread by accident. I was looking for ideas for my daughter's baon. Will try the shrimp & cheese lumpia.

Want share also super easy recipe that my kid loves.  Derived from Spanish cuisine daw but pinoy touch. Good para sa mga nagmamadali tulad ko...

2-3 eggs (depende sa dami ng gusto mo)
Small-medium potato cut into potato chip sizes (sometimes I boil the potato para siguradong cooked, but this is optional)

How to do it.
Fry potato until a little crispy (do not overcook).
Take out from heat.
Beat eggs. Salt to taste (most of the time I do not put salt)
Put a little butter or oil in frying pan.
Pour in eggs.
Place the potato slices on the egg.
Fold.
Omellete lang  with a twist :-)

PIZZA BURGER

1 lb ground beef
1/3 cup chopped pepperoni
3 Tbsp pizza sauce (+ a little extra for topping)
1 1/2 tsp Italian Seasoning
1 egg
1/2 Teaspoon of Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon of garlic powder
pinch of salt
mozzarella cheese
3 hamburger buns (toasted)

In a mixing bowl, combine meat, pepperoni, seasonings, egg, pizza sauce ( except the amount you are using for topping). Mix. Divide into 3 burgers. Cook to desired doneness. Top with sauce and cheese.

They can also opt to have this with rice instead of buns :P
