hi mga sis i asked my cousin na nasa US about Avent Bottles kasi plan ko sana ito ibenta sa shop ko...kaso she said na medyo nega daw ang Avent (ng reply ako sa kanya kung bakit? wait ko answer niya by today) ...sabi niya mas maganda daw yung bottle ng Born Free, ito na ang pinapagamit niya sa niece ko...

mas mahal ang born free, used it on my youngest son, ok sana, BPA free kaso naman pahirapan maglinis ng bote.

^last year pa yang article na yan.. avent now has BPA-free products.. in fact sa US, hindi na nagse-sell ng mga hindi BPA free. sa mga malls lang dito sa pinas, may choice ka if BPA-free or not ang kukunin mo..

yes sis, avent has 2 kinds of bpa free bottles.  in other countries they are already getting rid of non bpa free bottles but ofcourse, here it's still very much available.  the first BPa Free bottle is made of the usal Polypropylene (PP) material which is like the ones used in tommee tippee, dr brown's, etc while the other more expensive one is made of Polyetherlsulfone (PES).  this is the one with honey color tint.  they say it's more expensive since it is a better material.  http://loveinmybelly.blogspot.com/2010/05/feeding-bottles-and-bpa.html

even the avent breastpumps now have BPA Free counterparts. In the price list emailed  to me by their local distributer, naka separate ang price ng BPA Free breastpumps.  Lately, they also have BPA Free version of their double breast pump.

if you want to really save AND aid breastfeeding, you can just cupfeed your baby.

pros: absolutely no risk of nipple confusion, complements bfeeding because baby uses tongue to feed, easy to clean, no need to sterilize (since there are no little corners/threadings) and no colic!

cons: your caregiver has to be patient because cupfeeding is slower than bottle feeding and there could be spillage of precious bmilk.

anyway, premature babies and newborns can cupfeed. look at youtube videos for reference. in fact, hospitals following mother-baby friendly hospital initiative don't use bottles anymore.

I'm in San Francisco now and baby stuff here are so cheap! If I had known na pupunta ko dito dapat ako na lang bumili nung Dr. Brown's na bottle set. Mauunahan ko pa sya dumating ng Manila hehe

siguro mag Born Free na lang ako...ito kasi sabi niya...

"halos parehas sila (avent & born free) kaso nga lang ang dmi nag rereklamo ng avent dto kase nag leak sya after sometime. alam moba na nakailang palit kame ng dede, as in every other week nag exchange kame dahil jan sa avent na yan! tapos nung na discover namen yung born free kc may nkpg sabe n mgnda nga raw. ayun i love it na sya khit medyo mabusisi pero proven na less kabag talaga kc hindi kinakabag si zhoey cmula nung nag born free na sya"

^me din Born Free na lang bilhin kong back up bottles. Baka mairita lang ako sa Avent. Wala pa naman akong patience sa ganyan, wawa pati si baby.

ako  i bought some online stuff sa amazon like avent bottles and onesies tpos pinaship ko na lang sa friend ko na uuwi sa pinas this july. sana lang mabili nya rin ako ng tommeetippee bottles kaso wala sa amazon sa babiesrus lang meron
