Currently at 34th week. Mataas pa raw matres according to the midwife. Should I be concerned too much about labor or naturally bababa talaga when it's due na? I don't know if there's an existing thread but I researched already on what exercises ang pwede gawin to help prepare the pelvis. Still I'm anxious baka mahirapan si baby. I prefer natural birth - may possibility kayang ma-CS ako? :/

tagtag ako nun una pregnancy at pati ngayon (currently on my 34th week), kasi working ako...tapos nagsu zumba pa ako ngayon at lagi nag stretching.  Hopefully it will be easier this time.

^ Thank you. :) Yun lang din in-advise ng midwife sakin then no special instructions from OB. Check up ko kasi kanina. Pero will continue doing exercises to help alleviate labor pain.

sis abbmg, that is a nice story!

i want to share mine though it is kinda boring.

gave birth last january 22 via CS. around 8:30 am that day pagbangon ko, may fluid discharge akong naramdaman. medyo kinabahan na ako kasi feeling ko hindi urine iyon. so i went to the CR and check. hindi amoy urine so ginising ko na si hubby and said na i think leaking na AF ko. we texted our OB and she advised me to go straight to the ER.

naligo pa ako and nagbreakfast. around 11 am kami nakarating sa hospital. when the on call OB checked me, leaking na nga AF ko and 1 cm dilated pa lang ako. so they admitted me. before 12 noon nasa room na kami waiting for labour to start. around 1 pm, a nurse injected me with oxytocin kasi no labour pains pa rin ako. unfortunately, pagdating ng OB ko around 3pm wala pa rin akong nararamdamang labour pains and 1 cm dilated pa rin ako.

since we still want a normal delivery, wait kami ng 1 hour pa kasi baka magprogress naman labour ko. after 1 hour, no progress. so she advised us na CS na. pwede pa kami mag-wait ng mga ilang hours pa but both me and my baby will have to receive antibiotic asap kasi nga leaking na si AF and prone na sa infection. hubby and i decided not to risk infection for both me and baby so CS na.

5:44 pm: baby out na and pinalatch siya agad.

at the recovery room, nag-excessive bleeding ako kasi hindi nga masyadong nagcocontract ang uterus ko so instead of the standard 2 hours mga 3.5 hours akong nasa recovery room. while waiting, i can hear my baby crying and i know she wants to latch. kinda felt helpless that time.

finally, before 10 pm nasa room na ako and a few minutes later dumating na rin si baby. latch kami agad. pinatong lang siya sa breast ko and i'm blessed na magaling siyang maglatch.

i know i can handle the pain of a normal delivery. ayoko pa nga ng epidural. but God has other plans for me so accept na lang ako. ang importante my baby and i are both healthy.

my turn. here's my story:

mar. 13: told my husband it would be great to give birth mar. 15, 2015 kasi parang parang feng shui. syempre sinama ko pa itong part na to di ba. but I think nadinig ako ni baby.

mar. 14: I have been feeling several contractions but I think they're just BH contractions since nakakasalita pa ako. just about 3x siguro that day. but I knew it felt different.

mar. 15: at 930am may contraction na. then 1030am ulit. then 1130am. although I can still talk through it, it felt different from BH contractions. was supposed to stay at home dahil madami pa pending work that week. my brother was inviting us for lunch dahil birthday ng anak nya. nagcancel na kami pero susunduin nila ang anak ko para sya na lang ang sumama. but I had a little bloody show na before 12 kaya I told them sama na kami sa trinoma. baka kailangan ko pa kasi maglakad lakad. my family would be there and since sa kanila rin naman ako tatakbo dahil doon malapit ang lying inn clinic ng tita ko ok lang na magkakasama na rin kami. so I drove my family to trinoma. ok lang naman. may one time na contraction, I just slowed down...

I called my tita and she told me to go to my Mom's house na rin. (that was actually my plan. to spend the early labor at my Mom's. at kapag super magkakalapit na ang contractions saka kami pupunta sa clinic.)

330pm: we decided na mauna na sa bahay ng mama ko kasama sya. me praying na hindi ako abutan ng matinding contraction sa edsa since I am driving. husband doesn't drive as he has a blind side. nakarating naman kami without any problems.

4pm: nasa bahay na kami ng mama ko. parang 15mins apart na ang contractions. the husband coaches me on every one of them.

430pm: we went to my tita's clinic since nagkita kami sa compound. i-IE nya daw ako. I was 2-3 cm dilate. sa isip ko lang nun ang tagal ko pa. baka madaling araw pa ako manganak.

5pm: went back sa bahay ng mama ko to wait for active labor talaga.

8pm: 3-5 mins apart na ang contractions. medyo kinakabahan na ako kasi malapit na. but at the same time excited dahil malapit ko na makita ang baby ko.

830pm: my brother dropped us off sa clinic ng tita ko. pag-IE nya sa kin 3-4cm daw ako. she asked me to try to push a bit. when I pushed, pumutok na ang panubigan ko. nasa table nya ako sa clinic, wala pa kami sa delivery room table kaya nagkalat talaga. medyo naginhawahan ako after that. we walked to the delivery room and the contractions became more intense. I remained standing beside the delivery table para bumaba pa si baby.

9pm: I started pushing. nakahiga kasi ako kaya everytime na magstop ako magpush, bumabalik. so nilagyan nila ako ng bigkis and the midwife also helped with the pushing. honestly, ayoko ng may nagpupush sa ibabaw ko pero at the time, anything that can make it faster, ok na sa akin. I want to see my baby!!!

926pm: baby out na. they placed her on my tummy while the midwife tried to dry her. sayang lang nalimutan ng tita ko na gusto namin si husband ang magcut ng cord.

the whole thing was unmedicated. hindi ako ininduce, no anesthesia except for novaine ba yun? na ininject lang sa braso ko. mas masakit pa ang contractions noong may pampa-induce (this was the case with my eldest). pero nung malapit na sya lumabas there's this little hint inside me na wrong decision yata ako. parang hindi ko kakayanin yata. pero after lumabas ni baby, it was all worth it. :)

Exactly 5 months old na my baby today and finally sharing mine...

Oct 31

Check up with my OB. After taking evening primrose oil for a week, 1cm pa lang. My OB told me to continue the primrose oil for another week. Pag di pa rin ako nanganak iinduce labor daw kami. Medyo natakot ako as what I read dito sa GT masakit ang induce labor. Ang tamad ko pa man din maglakad. At that time I was also not feeling well. My head hurts so bad na parang lalagnatin ako na hindi maintindihan yung feeling. My OB told me to take paracetamol pero when I got home um-okay pakiramdam ko so di na ko nag take.

Nov 1

2:45AM   I woke up to pee. I felt na wet yung shorts ko. I thought to myself na baka eto na yung water bag breaking so dahan-dahan pa ako tumayo pero wala naman water gushing. When I got back to sleep may nararamdaman pa rin ako parang lumalabas. I was worried na baka my bag of water was leaking so pinakiramdaman ko sya. After a few minutes basa na naman shorts ko. I went back to the bathroom to change and ayun may bloody show na parang sipon. I was like "anak, of all the days bakit nov 1st?".

4:45AM   I texted my OB and she said na pumunta na daw ako ng hospital. Hubby was at work (5am kasi start ng shift nya) so I called him and told what my OB said. I didn't want to go to the hospital yet so sabi ko uwi muna siya sa bahay before going to the hospital. I was still sleepy then. Siguro mga 3-4 hrs pa lang tulog ko. While waiting for hubby I tried to sleep pero di na ko makatulog.

6:00AM.  Hubby arrived. When he saw me he was like "ano yang nasa shorts mo?" sabay turo sa pundilyo. Di kasi ako naglagay ng pads dahil I was trying to observe kung meron pa rin discharge na water-like.

Hindi naman ako nagworry masyado kasi I didn't feel any pain and super lapit lang ng hospital. Nagawa ko pa maligo at mag breakfast before going to the hospital.

8:00AM  we went to the hospital na. Since malapit lang yung hospital sa amin I wanted sana to walk na lang para matagtag but hubby refused kasi may mga dala kami gamit. Pagdating sa hospital diretso sa ER and showed my admitting orders. They told me my OB was already there kasi may pinaanak siya earlier. Kaya pala she was able to reply to my text so early in the morning.

Anyway, the resident  OB did the IE and still at 1cm! Matagal pa daw and pwede umabot pa ng 1 week! Waaah!!! So sinabihan nila ko to come back pag active labor na. I told them about yung disharge ko and that my bag of water might be leaking so we waited for my OB's advise.

9:00AM.  I started having contractions. Eto na yung matagal kong inaantay. When I reached my 9th month super curious ako what it feels like and kept researching about it. Para nga dismenorhea na pawala wala. Then my OB said na bumalik na lang daw kami pag active labor na. I was like "how would I know if active labor na?" Sorry first time mom here. Sabi pag 5 mins interval na daw. Tried kami mag time ng contraction in hubby pero di kami marunong.

Okay so false alarm. Uwi kami ngayon. And since umabsent na rin si hubby sa work, nag punta na lang kami ng mall para makapag lakad- lakad and mamili ng mga kulang pa na gamit.

1:00PM   We were about to have lunch na but when my food arrived wala na ko gana kumain. I felt so bad just like what I was feeling nung check up ko. Then sumasakit na yung contractions. Parang ayoko na umuwi. I just wanted to stay sa kinauupuan ko.

3:00PM.  Back at home. Since parehas kami puyat tried sleeping. Hubby was able to sleep but me every time magko-contract yung tummy ko I would wake up.

6:00PM.  Di na ko makatulog. Sumasakit na yung contractions. Though the pain was tolerable kaya lang nakakainis kasi it won't go away. I tried timing it using the contraction timer from The Bump app. Super dali gamitin than writing on paper and making mano-mano computation. 5 mins apart na yung contractions and I felt the need to hold on something pag sumasakit.

8:00PM.  My mother told me to have dinner kahit konti. She said kakailanganin ko daw ng energy when in labor. But because of the pain it's so hard to eat. Yung kakaunting rice it took me an hour to finish.

9:00PM.  I woke up hubby para makapag dinner na rin siya. While he's eating panay na reklamo ko about the contraction. And he was like "Babe, normal lang yan. Di ka pa manganganak". I was like "Ah ganun? So aabutin pa ng next week toh?" He was like "Yeah". Grabe inis na inis ako gusto ko siya sapakin that time. hehe!

10PM. Sinamahan ako ni hubby maglakad-lakad along the hallway while timing my contractions. Naging 3-4 mins na so I texted my OB. She said observe ko daw muna baka false alarm na naman. Hay!

Nagiging intense na yung pain not to mention I was so tired and sleepy but I can't sleep because of the contractions. I begged hubby to go back to the hospital pero ayaw nya kasi matagal pa daw ako manganganak (Duh!) I swear I hated my husband that time kasi he kept on saying na it's normal to feel pain and that hindi pa raw ako manganganak.

Nov 2

12:00AM.  I told hubby I can't take the pain anymore and I'm going to the hospital na. I wanted to know kung ilang cm na ko. I also told him not to bring the hospital bag para if I'm still at 1 cm then we can just go back home. Ayun pumayag din. We just walked to the hospital para matagtag. Every time na magko-contract we would stop walking. The hospital na super lapit samin felt like super layo kasi pahinto-hinto kami sa paglalakad kapag sumakit tummy ko.

When we got to the hospital nandun pa rin the same OB na nag IE sakin earlier and siya pa rin nag IE ulit sakin. Grabe more than 12 hrs na siya sa hospital. Anyway she said 4cm na and 50% efface pwede na ko i-admit. Hay, sa wakas! Paglabas ko ng room ang dami ng mga buntis nakapila waiting for their turn na ma-IE. I'm so worried baka magkapalit-palit kami ng  mga babies. Eto yung isa sa mga reasons why I didn't want to give birth sa hospital. Originally, I wanted to give birth sana sa lying in but that's another story to tell.

So anyway, they got a wheelchair for me and nilagyan ako ng swero. Super thankful ako sa nurse kasi it only took her one shot para makabit and it wasn't so painful.

2:00AM. They wheeled me na to the labor room. Bawal na si hubby dun. Kakatuwa yung isang nurse kasi sabi by 6am daw lalabas si baby. Ako naman I wanted earlier pa sana cause I really want the contraction to stop na. My OB was there already kasi may ibang patients (take note that's plural) na manganganak din. OMG! I was praying di kami magkasabay-sabay lahat.

When I was in the labor room, they removed my clothes and undies and put on the diaper and hospital gown. Then bigla ako nag chill. Hindi naman malamig sa room. Ang weird nga kasi yung chest ko tagagtak sa pawis but my entire body was shaking so they gave me a blanket. My OB did an IE and she said 6cm na and that intact pa yung bag of water ko Thank God! Another thing was after manganak ng isa sa mga buntis na kasama ko, I was so happy to found out na room in ang mga babies (unless my complication).

Lalong sumasakit na yung contractions and longer yung durations. I tried yung breathing exercise na nabasa ko online. Hindi naman nya nalessen yung pain but I think nakatulong naman para maendure ko yung longer pain ng contractions.

Then I heard my OB said na just tell her daw if di ko na kaya yung pain they will give me painkiller. At first parang ayoko pa kasi in my mind carry lang kasi nawawala naman yung pain. But later on I changed my mind. I asked for painkiller na. A nurse injected it on my right arm. Sabi nya medyo magiging groggy daw ako. Hay I was so glad after that. Nakatulog ako then would wake up pag nararamdaman ko nagko-contract yung tummy ko. I'm not aware of the time anymore kasi super drowsy na ko. Then next thing I knew my water bag broke. Buti may isa nurse dun so I called her. When she checked my diaper ayun clear naman daw. OB did another IE. 8cm na and I needed to pee para bumaba yung ulo ni baby. Kaso di naman ako na-iihi. Then she told me to call her pag feeling ko napo-poop na ko. I was able to sleep some more and woke up sa super painful na contractions. Ayun I told her na parang mapopoop na ko.

When my OB did an IE, 9cm na daw and dinala na ko sa delivery room.

5:00AM. I was inside the delivery room and once again nag shishiver buong katawan ko. Then pwesto na. Practice ng pag-ire. Very good daw ako. But damn nakakapagod. Naka ilang try ako pero super hirap at nakakapanghina tapos I feel drowsy pa. Then yung mga nurses dun offered to help by pushing my tummy. So countdown kami. Pag-ire ko they pushed also my tummy and it felt so good tapos lumabas din si baby.

5:18AM. Baby out na. Black out na ko. When I woke up ramdam ko may something slimy sa legs ko. I asked if umiyak si baby kasi di ko narinig. Sabi nurse oo daw. Then nakatulog ulit ako. When I woke up nasa recovery room na ko and the nurse was taking my BP. After she took my BP tulog na naman ako. Then another nurse woke me up para padedehen na si baby. First time ko makita si baby and didn't know how I felt that time. I was trying to look at her face kaya lang I'm still groggy. Try namin pa latch si baby pero ayaw and hirap ako kasi nga inaantok pa. Sabi ng nurse we can try it again when we get to our room. Kakatuwa lang cause my baby wasn't crying kahit di siya maka latch. She was just there beside me being cute and all. Ayun nakatulog nga ko buti when I woke up katabi ko pa rin si baby and we were being wheeled to our room.

8:00AM. And by the way sobra sakit ng buong katawan ko na parang binugbog.

I press my nipples walang lumalabas.

We stayed in a semi-private room and funny kasi though breastfeeding advocate yung hospital all the moms na kasama ko sa room may dala feeding bottles. Eh kami wala talaga kahit isa kasi as I know bawal nga. Then eto pa si hubby super worried din na wala naiinom na milk si baby so gusto nya umuwi para kumuha ng bottles. Sabi ba naman "So titiisin mo magutom anak natin?" It didn't help na yung pedia assigned to us eh gusto din bigyan formula si baby kasi daw eh underweight (2.2kgs lang siya) tapos when we checked her diaper parang walang wee wee. Hay mangiyak-iyak ako kasi as much as possible ayoko mag formula si baby. Gusto ko magrequest ng lactation consultant. Eh BF advocate daw yung hospital but they allow mommies to bring feeding bottles tapos the pedia also suggesting formula, asa pa ko na may lactation consultant.

On the 2nd day when we got discharge ayun lumabas yung 1st poop ni baby. Then on the 3rd day nag leak na milk ko. Super happy. Nagka peace of mind na may milk nga naiinom si baby.

Pasensya na kung napahaba kwento ko ha.

Sa mga sis na malapit na manganak. Relax relax lang wag mainip. Lalabas at lalabas din si baby. Basa-basa ng mga labor stories para mainspire. Pero wag matakot ha. Kelangan lakasan ang loob para kay baby. Kayang kaya nyo yan. In fairness when I gave birth di naman ako nag iiyak. Nakeri ang labor pain. And of course pray, pray, pray that you and baby will be safe.

Here's mine.

Three weeks before my due, 1 cm dilated na ko hanggang sa naging 3cm 1 week before my due date. No labor pains, mas masakit pa nga ang IE ni ob haha. Naglalakad ako ng bongga, i did post natal yoga pa nga kasi i was hoping for nsd. I will give birth at Madocs, during my 39w andito si Pope Francis and closed ang daan going to Madocs.

Naglunch muna kami and nakapag admit ako around 2pm

Jan 21 2pm - nasa admitting room na ko with the NST (non stress test), ayoko nun kasi sakit na sakit ang balakang ko sa paghiga, from there nilipat ako sa birthing room with hubby.

3 - 6pm - hindi ko alam kung pano lumipas yun. Still no labor pains, mejo uncomfortable lang ang puson ko thats all. Stained meconium. Sabi ni OB, "O cs na kita ha", ako naman " Okay doc, bikini cut ha  ;D However, I thanked God kasi kung di ginawa ni OB yun baka nagkacomplication pa ang baby ko.

715pm - my baby was out. nahirapan pa sila kasi ang laki ni baby, 9.2lbs haha.

when i was in labor i thought, sinisikmura lang ako.. nakailang balik kasi ko sa cr para magrelease, you know  ;D..
mind you nakuha ko pa mag commute..
they still induced me, because my water bag hasn't broke yet.. but they were so amazed, because i manage to deliver in just 30 minutes after they have set me up on the delivery table..
i kept on telling them that i don't feel any pain, because they are asking me to push as hard as i can when the pain strikes..
they ended up holding my tummy as they wait for contraction then ask me to push on their signal... the hardest part is the pushing, i really don't feel that the baby is ready to come out..

Hi Sigma. I guess we're on the same boat. 12 years old na din ang baby girl ko (big girl na sya actually, baby lang tawag ko). Her little brother came March 6 [textspeak!] this year. So she is the big sister she so wished for so long na.

March 5 (39w5d pregnant) at 8am, sumakit ang tyan ko. Intermittent pero sobrang sakit. We went to the hospital. 3cm pa lang daw so we chose to go home. Then come 8pm, nag away kami about something na super nagalit talaga ako. (Sabi nya sakin after ko manganak, sinadya nya daw awayin ako. We were  actually so worried na mag overdue ako. 37 weeks pa lang we started talking to our little one na lumabas na. We were both so excited and worried na di pa sya lumalabas. Now come 1am. I started to feel the intermittent pain again. This time, masakit talga sya. So he prepared our stuff na. We were ready to go to the hospital. At the same time, he was ready for anything too. ang problem namin is, hindi nya ako maiwan. No elevator, just stairs. At sobrang madalang ang taxi. So when I told him my pain scale is 12 (10 behing the highest), he stood by me.  At around 3 am, sa sobrang sakit ng tyan ko, umiri ako (like I do when I have bad cramps). Then my gush akong naramdaman. Water ko na pala yun. Then after nun wala ng tigil yung sakit. I was then really pushing kasi it was so painful I want it out. March 6 at 3:30 am, I gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. (And boy! He's big!) My hubby is a nurse and an an emergency medical technician. He's the first person to ever laid eyes on his son. Mommy is just, well, the second.

Hoping for safe delivery to everybody. Pain is nothing we women can't handle. We are all stronger than that.

It was so painful at ang tagal. O siguro sadyang mababa pain tolerance ko Hehe. more than 12 hours ako naglabor tapos madaling araw pa nagumpisa so wala ko tulog. At last. hehe.

i had a super easy labor and delivery but the weeks before that were so agonizing as i was hearing stories of moms with almost the same due dates who have delivered their babies na. sabi ko nga sa mga nagtatanong na friends, lahat na ng kakilala ko pati yung dog ng tita ko nakapanganak na (which was true!) pero ako hindi pa haha!

2 weeks before my EDD my cervix was already dilated by 2cm. sabi pa nga ng OB i might give birth after a few days. however God had other plans and decided to test my patience (which i failed haha). i was still working that time and everyone at the office were asking me the same thing: "hindi ka pa nanganganak? di ba 2cm ka na since last week??"

and then on a monday morning, 3 days before my due date, my water bag broke. it was 7am and buti na lang hubs had no work kasi holiday sa office nila (he works in a nearby province). and because of the things i learned here in GT, i knew i had to get ready na. so after informing hubby about the situation, i took a shower agad. habang nasa shower pa lang the contractions started and they were just 2-3 mins apart pero nagawa ko pang mag-shave ng legs haha. when i was done hubby was already dressed and ready with our bags na. Knowing na it was Monday we expected the early morning rush hour traffic kaya we decided to get the services of an ambulance. best decision ever! yung normal na 1 hour travel nakuha namin ng 25mins lang, nag-counterflow na si manong driver. i was writhing in pain na din. when we got to the hospital nagulat yung midwife kasi 8cm na ako agad when she IE'd me. although we texted OB nung nasa bahay pa, she did not expect siguro na ganun kabilis magprogress ang labor ko kaya she was not still at the hospital when we arrived. so ayun, from the ER diretso na ako sa delivery room. they prepped me agad, then midwife IE'd me again. sobrang sakit na and there was this strong urge to push kaso wala pa si OB kaya they told me na pigilan muna and naka-sideways ako na nakahiga. OB arrived at 8.45, sabi nga niya hindi na siya nakaligo because she had to rush na. anyhoo i started pushing at 9am and after 3 pushes, baby boy was out na  ;) we named him wilfred lorenzo, w3nzo for short. he is the 3rd generation of wilfred in hubby's family thus the number 3 on his nickname :) he is now a healthy and very demanding 2 month old :)

some lessons learned:
1. prepare your bags na and keep them near the door kung pwede
2. stay focused, wag magpapanic
3. remember to update your OB just in case she needs to come to the hospital agad (very important kasi super hirap pigilan yung urge to push while waiting for OB)
4. if you were already given admission orders, place it somewhere accessible like the outside pocket of your bag para pagdating sa hospital pakita agad sa ER staff
5. make sure you have numbers of ambulances just in case -- again, very important kapag you need to be brought to the hospital during rush hour
6. dont forget to pray :)

I gave birth last April 29 2015 at Medical City :)

At 39 weeks I had a bloody show but I was only 1 cm dilated. Cervix still thick sabi ni ob she advised me to walk. So walk ako 2 hrs everyday then squats at night mga 20 rep.
During my 40th week checkup same status parin.

At 40weeks  and 3 days, I woke up at 1am to pee. May blood ulit then I felt cramps parang may menstruation. I timed the contractions pero irregular pa. I waited nalang mag umaga since may scheduled checkup kay ob.
When we went to my ob I was 2cm dilated and 70% effaced. She instructed us to go to pre labor room.

My husband waited outside while I was monitored sa pre labor room. Contractions were mild. May kinabit sa tyan ko to measure contractions it read 30 to 40. Then I was given enema to poop. After this I was transferred to labor room.

By 10:30 I was in the labor room nilagyan lang ng IV then pinagrest. After kumain they advised me to walk. So I walked for about 30 mins until parang lumalakas na contractions ko. By 2pm my ob did an IE. I was 4cm and 80% effaced. By 4pm nasa 50 to 60 na yung nasa monitor and mejo maliit na interval so I asked for epidural. By 5pm I was 5cm na. By 6:30 pm my ob did another IE I was already 8 to 9cm and 90% effaced so she broke my water bag. At 7pm I asked for another epidural shot and told the nurse parang napupupu yung feeling ko. The resident did an IE and i was ready to give birth na pala.

They transferred me to the delivery room and called my hubby to join. After 7 pushes my baby girl was born at 7:22 pm :)
