Affordable and sturdy luggages?

thinking of buying lite weight rimowa din. aquacharly, how many years mo na ginagamit rimowa mo? i want the 27thou plus ata. pero pinagiisipan ko. im reading the reviews online if durable ba talga.

They scratch easily, but that is the case with all kinds of luggage.

i was hoping that with that kind of a price tag it would be indestructible... tipong scratch-proof talaga. 

i will check the tumi version out when i get back to the US. thanks for heads up.

For me, matibay talaga Samsonite pero mabigat pa rin siya kahit na lighter material na ang ginagamit nila compared to before. Delsey for me is lighter and the quality is not bad.

sis, i just bought delsey, isang 50kg and yun isa parang 15kg ata, dark green. no regrets sana ako dito hehe.

saw the victorinox luggage, mukhang matibay, super duper mahal nga lang. parang mahihimatay ako sa price.

depends on your budget.  samsonite are a bit pricey lang.

Hindi ba talaga matibay ang Elle mga sis? Just bought one kasi. Always wanted one and now that I bought it na, seems like bad ang reviews nya.

My cousin has Elle na luggage. Sabi niya so far okay pa naman yung kanya. She had it for 3 years na.

ok na ok ang delsey. 

 i wouldnt have disposed mine if di ako nasilaw sa cute na mustard yellow elle luggage set before.  wrong decision yun.  pampa-cute lang ang elle.

i agree, delsey is a good buy. it's sturdy and can hold a lot of things. we've used it on all of our travels and it still looks good. we've had it for 5 years, by the way.

carry-on 4-wheels   Salsa De Luxe        is  P26,300
4-wheels smallest suitcase Salsa D/L    is   P32,800

there are 3 suitcase sizes... but refrain from the biggest 1 coz it means you gotta travel business or first-class   eh kung sa Macao or HK lang punta, short trip... why bother going first or business class?

The prices may be indicate, that is all I remember coz the gimmick at Rockwell/Adora is that everytime you purchase you get a 15% coupon rebate to use on any item.  So that is what I did.. bought the 1st suitcase, then got rebates succeedingly which I used for the other Rimowas.   

IF you buy 4 at a time, you get a 20% rebate.

Teka, I want another medium Rimowa so I will have my sec call Adora how much it is before rebates...   post here later.  hehe  Rimovas are really addicting.

@kho_leen and @the_missus  mga sis thanks sa info, panatag na ko now LOL!  dami kasi ako nakitang world traveller, natempt ako half-price lang and yun ang binibili ng ibang shopper, buti delsey pinili ko hehe    so far no regrets, sabi ng friend ko ok daw delsey.

world traveller is a local brand. nothing wrong with that. kaya lang yung material nya hindi gano maganda. madali manis-nis... vs samsonite and delsey na mas sturdy ang ginagamit.

HUNGRY DEVIL   I started using last April.  You see, a sister was harping on the advantages of that brand, but I was deaf coz I had already started on the LV brands.  Disaster.. talagang you have to put them in protective cases.. coz que 1st world or 3rd world... unless it is HK .. the carousels really damage suitcases.  Eh hello, a suitcase is a suitcase to me, heck na isa pang intindihin ko na lagyan ng protective case.  Speaking for myself, ako lang ha, no aspersions cast on anyone.. kanya kanyang buhay tayo.. I find it pretentious to put luggage in protective cases.. bili ka na lang nang sarili mong plane.  hehe   But that is just my opinion, and we are all entitlted to our opinions.

I bought only the 63cm and 70cm suitcases; and just 2 of the cabin 4 wheelers.
More of the 63 than the 70cm   bec this is the size we most often use
I did not buy the bigger 77cm coz well.. I will encounter problems with it when boarding certain local US flights...  or have to go first class with such a huge suitcase.. hehe   mahirap naman na my movement is gonna be curtailed by a suitcase.. hello

As I said, I do not recommend to push you to buy.
All I am saying is that I have dropped my Samsonites and LVs and have been busy building up on Rimowas.  They are lightweight, sturdy, easy to maneuver and easy to maintain clean (Wipe-Out) and I do not need to put them in any protective case.... that is my opinion based on my experience. 

So if you buy Rimowas and you are not happy, and still hanker for LVs... hwag ako sisihin ha!  hehe

Another thing, my husband refuses to use LVs... so we maintain Samsonites too.. nakakabakla daw and how pretentious... that is his opinion ha.. but with the Rimowas, pareho kami okay with this.  Ako kasi i like when we travel... pare pareho ang luggage namin.  Everything now is the black shiny Salsa de luxe .. and I enjoy that too... so shoot me,   LOL

I do not think Rimowas are pretentious... they are just functional.
heck if I wanted to be pretentious  I would have bought the Chanel trolley carry on at HK$26thou or the Hermes suitcases.   yon ouch pag na scratch.

You go to Greenbelt 5 and look it over as long as you want.  Test drive mo na din doon.

TWELVE5 -- I wish to clarify, to be fair... my statement may have been taken out of context

Yes, they scratch easily.. BUT most scratches are easily erased with Wipe-Out lang.  Now, of 7 suitcases, 1 of ours got 2 scratches na hindi na erase...   BUT these appear as lighter black in color.. and from the usual viewing distance.. hindi halata...   nakita ko kasi my cleaner mentioned it to me so tinapat ko my face   hehe

IMO, anything that goes through the carousels get scratched... BUT some HIDE scratches better than others.  For example, the textured fabrics hide scratches better (but sure get scratched too) than the smooth textured fabrics...

Luggage will get scratched.. even hand held luggage.  But will it hide it well? If not, can it be erased off?  So there, for me the Rimowas are okay coz my cleaner just buffs off with Wipe Out.  But of course, whatever your luggage .. if natapat sa grabeng "collision/contact" -- you can get deep scratches.   The Rimowa is fine with me, coz well... the scratches are hidden in a way kasi it comes off as lighter black lang.

Share  ko lang my experience, and my preference.  I do not care if people buy Rimowa or not, whatever makes them happy .. don!  hehe

For me pinakadurable luggage is still Delsey, Samsonite, and American Tourister.  They have recent styles na lightweight, so perfect for travel.  I've tried those other brands na di talaga specialty ang luggage pero I always go back to these 3.

I don't really go for looks as far as luggage is concerned kasi nasisira din ang mishandled at airports - so no use getting nice ones in fancy material.
