herbal remedies for babies

Can i use oregano extract for sipon only? And is this the oregano i buy from the herb section of the grocery?

^We use oregano for my daughter whenever she has cough and colds. May tanim kase na ganyan mama ko sa house eh. She puts it on top of the rice habang nagi-inin tapos she extracts them and yun ipapainom sa daughter ko. Effective naman. I'm not comfortable kase na lageng medicines ang ite-take ng daughter ko for cough and colds except pag more than 3 days na yung cough.

I don't want to give her otc medication if naturl remedies will work. This is her first cold

Yup, you need to crush it after steaming. Tapos use a dropper na lang, siguro mga 1ml twice a day should be enough.

sa 4 year old ganu kadami pianapinum nyo na katas ng oregano?..and 3 times a day?.....dpat talaga haluan ng honey? pano kung wala ano pwede ihalo para hndi masyado mapaet?..kalamansi ba pwede na?......pano mnyo pala kinukuha katas pinapasetam nyo lang yun dahon dun sa kanin tapos pinipiga ?...or pakulo yun dahon?...

Sis I tried oregano plus calamansi samin ng son ko 1.7yo sya ok naman..

^Nakaka expel ng phlegm ano sis? Kasi sa age nila hindi pa marunong mag spit out ng phlegm. Now that my son is a bit older, we let him drink honey and lemon (warm) kapag medyo masama pakiramdam.

^Honey is really good sis Buti na lang bumili ng madameng bottles yung mama ko nung last na uwi nya sa province. Effective for cough and colds, nakakalbo na kase oregano plant namin heehee

count me in! honey and lemon and oregano these are the natural remedies i used to drink and my son... mas mabuti yung pa-start palang yung symptoms ng ubo at sipon... very effective talaga for both of us...

i heard about oregano na din sa kapitbahay but hubby is not comfortable pa as 5months pa lang si baby..last month nagka-sipon sya & konting ubo,tempted na ako to try oregano,meron kasing nakatanim dun sa tapat namin pero sabi din nung kasambahay namin,masyado pa daw bata si baby para dun..good thing at mahilig sa water si baby so water therapy na lang sya at nasal aspirator for his sipon siguro when he gets a bit older,pwede na ito

^^Agree. I didn't give oregano to my child too until she was over 1 yo, I think. Herbs, even if natural, are still very potent medicine, so they still should be used with caution especially with babies.

ang baby ko 7 months palang inuubo na parang may plema dinala ko sa pedia, pinag nebulize na saline lang ang laman tapos pinainom ng primalan, kaso sinusuka naman nya. dadalhin ko ulit mamaya sa pedia. 4 days na kasi yung ubo at sipon niya.

tanong ko lang, pag nag-nebulizer kaya siya magiginhawaan at mabilis gagaling at ubo at sipon?

oregano leaves for ubo. make sure lang na nahugasan maigi. mas okay din na nasa pot and naka elevate yung tanim. why? naloka ko nakita ko once yung dognamin, umiihi sa oregano leaves. asa ground lang kasi yung tanim nung samin. kaya mas safe kung yung oregano na gagamitin for our child, naka elevate yung pinagtaniman.

Okay lang po ba mag calamansi ang baby sis.  4months old pa baby ko.. Baka kasi humapdi ang tyan niya

^I think your baby is too young for that. Diba usually nga 6 months binibigyan ng food si baby and nagsstart with bland soft food muna. Calamansi is quite strong for a 4 month old tummy even for medicinal purposes.

I agree.. I remember not giving my baby even water during his first 6 months. Pure breast milk lang talaga.
