Makikisagot lang re: the use of honey.
Honey is not recommended to be given to infants less than 1 year of age because of the risk of infant botulism, a form of poisoning.
Honey usually harbors botulinum spores and the immarture digestive system of the infants cannot fend off these spores as opposed to older infants and adults that are able to fight off/destroy the spores and not cause disese.

I've read about Botulinum toxin (google Dr. Greene Honey and Infant Botulism) and it can cause death thru paralysis daw in minutes to an infant?

young _lady08, we're buying honey from an Organic Store here in SG.. hindi ako sure ano brand dyan sa atin..

^meron mother.. per pot ang bibilin mo.. $35 per pot.. pero ang mga dahon super liit kaya in one steaming, halos half ng pot ubos ang leaves.. kaya I resorted to honey+lemon nung nakita ko sa baby center.. it is as effective as oregano din. Kahapon bad cough si kyle. In a minute mga twice sya uubo.. 3 times ko pinainom ang honey+lemon.. Today he slept 3 hours nung nap time nya and rarely coughed.. Once pa lang sya nag take today kasi nakatulog.. i'll make it 3 times pa din today.. Until Friday I will let him take it..

@sis sweetcake, ask mo nalang po sa pedia kc ang alam ko newborn to 6months talagang maraming ganyan.. ''TAON'' ang tawag nila sa mga ganun at mawawala rin habang lumalaki c baby.
May mga medical books ka ba? Try mo mag research, i have preg and newborn books kc dati yung pang nursing kaso nahiram.

I think wait mo nalang mawala, makikita mo naman yan kung di naman harmful wag mo pahiran ng kung [textspeak!] anong ointment.
Yung iba pa ngang baby, may mga facial hair pa na visible saka red marks pero nawawala rin naman.

Sis ask your pedia nalang po. Pero kung sa tingin nyo di naman harmful yang mga butlig, wait nyo nalang mawala at wag pahiran ng kung [textspeak!] anong oitment cause what i've said, normal lang sa baby ang may ganyan.
Yung iba nga facial hair at big red marks pero nawawala din naman habang lumalaki sha.
''TAON'' ang tawag dyan sa tagalog, kasama na yung pagtatae ng green, scaly scalp, rashes, milia at mga red/ purple marks.

baby ko sis pinapainum ko rin ng oregano pero minsan kapag hirap na talaga siya huminga dahil sa dami ng plema pinag aantibiotic ko na

.... ano ba pwede sa 13mos old na baby para tumibay ang immune system nia? gusto ko na nga itira sa tabing dagat para lang tumibay e, para hindi buwan-buwan may ubo at sipon...help naman mga sis...TIA

vitamins sis lalo na yung vit C. Pakainin mo din ng fruits madalas and fresh fruit juice para matibay sya sa sipon and ubo. Pag di pa din, baka allergy na yan na dapat i-consult sa pedia nya

sweetcake, i would suggest pedia na muna for your baby.. too young pa for a trial and error sis..

chasiderwin, add ko na din ang honey.. pampatibay sya ng immune system sis.. kahit ako nag hohoney din everyday

sorry sis for butting in, pero ako (sabi ni mama), doesn't give antibiotic without prescription.. mahirap na, iba iba rin syempre ang antibitiotic.. you might want to try my baby's pedia, she's from the TMC, (dinadayo pa namin siya from Cavite!:p).. and siya rin ang pedia ko when I was a child.. si baby ko kasi, minana yung hika ko:( last month, almost every day talaga inaatake siya..may pinrescribe yung pedia nya, and thank God, medyo ok naman siya pa ngayon.. super dalang ng hikain..

sis TMC ba medical city? pa PM naman ng name ng pedia mo sis at kung saan at kung ano schedule nia....kasi lahat ng na pa check up ko na pedia puro antibiotic binibigay, no choice daw ako dahil may mild asthma anak ko

...hanggat maari sana ayaw ko na sana na puro atibiotic inum nia e....yung last na antibiotic na bigay sa kanya until now mahigit one week na di parin nawawala ubo nia...thanks sis
