I believe in the law of attraction. If you practice this principle everyday, wonders will happen in your life.

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote about this. He said: Pray without ceasing. The thing that is always in your heart you will one day have it.

If it was fear, if it was bad things, if it was peace, if it was money, one day it will be given to you. I believe this.

saka iba kase ang pakiramdam kapag most of the time , you try to be positive.
everything follows at its own time. mas maganda yung ganung attitude.

shine-share ko din kay hubby 'to..

Medyo mahirap din kasi sya,
lalo na pag may not-so-good things happening...

sa mga katulad kong start pa lang,
ma-ma-master din natin 'to mga sis..  :D

Yes yes yo!

I only believe half of LOA. Thinking positive is NOT enough.

i don't know if you will believe this story, i still get goosebumps when i tell this to friends.. :p 2 years ago, a friend sent me a documentary "the secret".. i got really interested and started reading the secret of the ages by robert collier.. the one rhonda byrne read.. and then i read up on silva.. and when i finally decided to road test the theory.. i used the silva method.. before i go to sleep, i drink half a glass of water while thinking of my intentions and then i sleep on that thought... i wanted a camera cause my camera broke a few months ago.. and it was the perfect thing to experiment with.. since the method will not work if you want something "badly".. that will be mistaken by the universe as a "need".. going back to the story.. on the second day, when i woke up.. there's a brand new digital camera beside me on my bed.. i was so shocked.. it was exactly what i wanted.. and it was brought by a cousin from the states who was never even supposed to come home that time.. :P i never told anyone i wanted that camera.. and was not expecting anything from the experiment.. i was feeling neutral.. but every night i tweak my thoughts to only think about happy things..  and how it would feel to touch the camera.. and smell it.. and yes, even taste it.. :p

i have since forgotten about it since it was not very easy to do at first... you will have to monitor your thoughts ALL the time..
but now,  i think i have to revisit the books! :P

LOL case in point. When I was a little girl, my mom had this book called "Alcatraz Incident" - I'd pretend read it when i was little, without really understanding the text and to this date, I don't know what it is about. Basta when I was a kid, when asked by friends or when filling out autorgaphs, my favorite book was Alcatraz Incident. Basta it's on my mom's shelf and I'd always look at it. I grew up in a remote area in Iloilo -- it's actually a baranggay where most people are farmers -- so having a favorite book that sounds weird enough was kinda impressive to my peers. I didn't even know where Alcatraz is -- or whether it exists or a make-believe place. But from the sound of it, it seems far haha. Like something that exists in movies.

Fast forward 20 years later, while in San Francisco, I was at this Victorian mansion having pancakes and coffee. I went to the porch of the house and saw an island in San Francisco bay. I asked my husband, "What island is that?" My husband said that's Alcatraz. I swear, when I heard that, I spilled my coffee (buti hindi mainit) and I had goosebumps! It does exist! OMG I said to myself that I never thought I'd ever see Alcatraz.

Anyway I'm going on Alcatraz in August to check out the prison cells of Al Capone, et al.

Marami pa akong law of attraction stories. Iisa-isahin ko lang pag post ;-)

^^ actually sabi sa theory.. there is no such thing as "coincidence".. ;)
so yes, it's the LOA working!:D

@spartan: the LOA is not only about thinking positive.. the "work" would not seem like work because it's a given that you should already like what you're doing.. if you don't then you're not doing the LOA at all.. read collier's book.. i find byrne's a little too concise.. hindi tuloy naeexplain the whole process.. :) so yeah.. collier would bea  better read.. ;)

basta dapat walang masamang tinapay sa'yo.. ;) you cannot hate anything because that will be part of your attraction too since the emotions cannot distinguish between positive and negative.. after all.. wrong and right is in the realm of the mind..and is mostly self or socially or genetically imposed... you have to go deeper into the psyche..

@spartan: the LOA is not only about thinking positive.. the "work" would not seem like work because it's a given that you should already like what you're doing..

I respect that idea and i'm not arguing that desire is the beginning of everything. All great things started with dreams and positive thinking.

Sakin lang it takes big risks, sacrifices, hard work (and it feels like hardwork) to reach super success.

The reason LOA is so popular because it gives allowance for laziness, which people want. Get rich get successful without big sacrifices.

I'm a student of self-improvement from tony robbins, brian tracy, chopra, napolean hill and studied the lives of super successful people. throughout history, the ultra greatest people made big sacrifice and worked really hard for it. Not the fun unconscious work ha, blood, sweat and tears work. Some had to sacrifice their lives to reach the "Dream".

^^ i got your point dude.. ;)
i do read chopra.. and napolean hills also got his idea from collier.. to add to that.. i also have dyer.. wilson.. silva.. tracy..you name it..
but the one thing they're all saying is that you have to love what you do first.. "find a job you love doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life".. ;)
that's why i suggested that you read the book from collier so you would understand what "work" supposed to mean..
"control your thoughts and you control the circumstances.." but since we are in an interweb of intentions and desires it's normal that things wouldn't always go your way.. now people who become successful have one thing in common and that's not hard work.. it's persistence...they DO NOT GIVE UP.. ;) it's in the book too.. :) that coupled with intelligence.. and a dash of will power.. and you're already a recipe for success... :)
i do understand that people get the wrong idea and think that you shouldn't do anything at all and just think about what you want and you'll get it.. that's not what the book is about.. it's about understanding that success or failure is nothing but a state of mind..
when you concentrate your thoughts on something you really want, ideas will come flooding in abundance, opening a dozen ways to achieve the goal you are striving for.. you cannot reach the top of the mountain unless you climb it.. but it sure is much easier to know that you can reach the top of the mountain in a myriad of ways.. by plane.. by vehicle.. you didn't have to climb it per se.. but you'll reach it otherwise..
and do you really think you can be happy when you reach a goal that made you sweat blood and sacrifice a lot? if you think about it.. let's say you want a million dollars.. but that you have to kill someone close for you to have it... do you really think the million dollars will be worth it?? the successful people you mentioned persist in doing what they did because it made them happy to do so... and didn't feel like they had to work hard on it or sacrifice a lot for it.. just like we have different pain tolerance levels, our views on what is hardwork and what is not also varies..
LOA is about attracting abundance, happiness and good health, this may come to you via work or good deeds.. or something totally out of the ordinary.. you attract what you think about after all... now, regarding lazy people who do not want to act to get whatever they want... the LOA works on them too... the universe gives them waiting.. and the more they wait.. the universe gives them more of the waiting... why? because it's either they're happy with it or that's what 's in their thoughts otherwise they'd be thinking of plans on how to reach the goal and the more they plan the more they feel good and confident about the realization of their goal and the more positive reinforcement the universe is getting.. so more opportunities will start to come and people who will be able to help them will start popping up..
you get the idea?
oh, and maybe you want to read quantum psychology too by wilson.. that one is totally scientific.. and it provides you with a scientific explanation of how it happens.. ;)
goodluck.. ;)

I don't boast of being a student of any law of attraction gurus. I don't like to quote a book that I read although, for the purpose of this discussion, I'll enumerate the books that I read.

Background: I discovered The Secret in 2006. I was in the Philippines, single, I worked from home as an SEO consultant and I had a side business involving retail. I just left law school to focus on business but not sure where I was headed. That's shortly after I watched the replay season 1 of The Apprentice. I told myself, "What the heck am I doing in law school?"

After reading The Secret, I read As a Man Thinketh (James Allen), Think and Grow Rich (N. Hill), Master Key to Riches (N. Hill), The Science of Getting Rich (Wallace Wattles), The Art of Public Speaking (D. Carnegie), The Master Key System (Charles F Haanel). I have a lot of books on my shelves and in my iPad but these are what I read over and over again (especially at night) and mastered what's written in them.

I don't just adhere to one book. Any man who desires to broaden his skills and knowledge MUST NOT just read one book on the same topic, although I strongly advice to MASTER one book and then read others as supplements. Besides, there's no "one size fits all" formula when it comes to law of attraction. Whatever you do, or how you do it, whether it's sheer love for your work, determination and hard work, imagination, gratitude, or a combination of everything, the question is, "What has law of attraction done to you?" I sometimes just listen to some people giving away pieces of advice on law of attraction: business coaches, life coaches, whoever. I even have friends in law school who would tell me about vision boards but then when you look at them, they're stuck in a rut and don't even like being lawyers. Some life coaches in the Bay Area charge like $100 / hour just to tell their clients to open up their life to the universe and practice the habit of being grateful. Uh, Mr life coach, had you practiced this habit yourself, you won't be running after people charging an hourly rate -- you'd be more successful than that!

In my book, the end result is always the most important-- not the principles and not the system that you follow. These LOA books have different systems and some principles may vary but the end result is always the same: to acquire enormous wealth. Out of all the precious knowledge that I gathered from these books, I developed some habits that I do every day, again and again and these habits are from the combined knowledge from books that I read. To be specific, I'd enumerate them:

1. Wake up early - I wake up at 5 to plan my day and that includes looking at my checklist (of things that I want to achieve, places I want to go to)

2. The habit of gratitude - I thank God for all the blessings in my life and for future blessings that he will give me. I do this 2x a day and sometimes during the course of the day.

3. The habit of asking - I ask God a lot... yes, I even asked him for a dream car (Audi) and He gave it to me. I asked him for a great kid and he gave me one. I asked him for a Cambodian lover and he gave me a Cambodian-American husband LOL

4. I don't put down others. I get mad at someone esp if he did an idiotic job that translated to loss in sales / revenue.

5. I'm quick to praise others or say good things about them. I always mean what I say.

6. Be organized in everything - In our household, since we don't have a helper, we do everything ourselves. Everything has a system, i.e., when we wake up, we clean the room, open the windows, make sure the room is spotless, and no dirty clothes lying around; when I take a shower I scrub the walls and the bathtub and wipe the sink; when I cook, I do laundry at the same time (everything automatic); when I microwave something, I cover the food with paper towel so it won't spill and I don't end up wiping the microwave interior; we have a very organized file system in hanging folders. We organize our documents by finances, med records, bank accounts, travel plans, bills to pay, receipts (business and personal), action items, etc.; I have a checklist of to-do, to-buy, to-go to for the day. My motto for completing all these checklists is CARPE DIEM (Seize the day). IN short, I won't stop until I complete everything for the day, even if I have to wash dishes at 11 p.m.

7. In terms of business

>>> a. You don't necessary have to love what you do but it's a plus if you love what you do. I happen to love my work. Ideally, you can make a business our of your favorite hobby or your passion, and when you do, it won't feel as if you're doing business at all -- it'll feel as if you're performing a hobby and you earn from it. But I have several sidelines that I don't care to study at all... I just hire someone good to do it and it's doing well.

>>> b. You need to know a lot about the business you're into or you can afford to hire someone REALLY good in the business you want to get into. I personally am the orchestrator of things but I don't do the dirty work. I leave everything up to our expert employees.

>>> c. Business must be profitable - One of my friends wanted me to be her partner in her perfume business in the Philippines. After computing the capital + effort + time, using the business model that she's likes, it boils down to $40 per bottle revenue but it takes time to achieve that. $40 is too low for my dreams so I said no.

>>> d. You must keep your promises to your clients - No offense but most Filipinos cannot deliver on time and that's a big no in my book. The reason why we're able to win big SMEs as clients is we're very responsive and always on-time in our delivery if not early.

>>> e. You must go over and beyond what your clients expect - Another reason why we have 99% repeat business (1% have no more funds to spend) is we go over and beyond our clients' expectations. We over deliver and we give free advice. Americans appreciate that and they give their loyalty in return

>>> f. Always thank your clients - Thanking your clients in the form of a post card or a bottle of Chardonnay is a nice gesture. It opens up the door to friendship. It's when they will say, "I will surely recommend you to my friends"

>>> e. The habit of keeping in touch - When we go to San Diego, we call a big client that we're flying there. He'll in turn show us around in his BMW and let us explore his ranch. Our kids play as well.

8. I don't work hard, I work smart. My motto is, If I end up doing the work, might as well not do it.  I ALWAYS DELEGATE. We have writers, editors, project managers, back-end people, and we have key negotiators in SF and NY. I thank Michael Gerber for this, the author of E-myth. Business owners aren't supposed to do the job, they're supposed to grow it.

9. Don't mind the naysayers - I haven't met naysayers in the Bay Area so that's a good thing LOL. But being an Asian woman fresh from the Philippines does not deter me from talking to the bigwigs. After all, I don't have to go through their body guards and assistants because they don't have ANY lol.

10. Master your negotiation skills - This may be going over and beyond but negotiation is always key to getting what you want or not giving the other person what he wants. Couple that with persistence and determination and voila, there you go.

11. If you have a great idea, ACT ON IT RIGHT AWAY - People wait, and that's not a good thing. You must live in your dream and not live to plan for your dream.

12. DREAM BIG - Oh I used to dream for just a P10M house but houses here cost far more than that, so I'm upping my ante to $3M for a dream house in a nice neighborhood. I also used to like Jaguar but everyone has it here, which cheapens the brand. So I'd go for something practical, something comfy, something nice and not too showy like Audi.

Anyway, if you're wondering what I've achieved out of law of attraction, here are some of the things that happened after I stumbled upon The Secret and after I read Think Like a Billionaire (by Donald Trump) in 2006.

1. I WANTED to OWN a company in the US - In 2007, I founded a search engine company in the Philippines serving clients around the world. In 2009, my husband joined me and we registered it in the State of California as an LLC. We transferred all operations in the U.S and focused on SMEs as clients. In Dec. 2009, we opened an office in San Francisco financial district. We have employees in the Bay Area and a parter company in New York. We're also working a partnership deal with a Boston-based company. In August, we're meeting the CEO and CTO of an Indian software company for possible expansion and possible partnership.

2. We're able to win some clients from Silicon Valley and start-ups in the Bay Area.

3. I met some of important notable players in Web 2.0 (yes, I wanted to meet them before), i.e., Kevin Rose (digg.com), Matt Mulleweg (Wordpress), the CEOs of Elance and Odesk, CTO of Paypal, CEO of Yelp, C-level execs of Google, Yahoo, and Facebook; founders of Reddit and Delicious, CEO of Craigslist, other CEOs of small companies like 99designs, crowdspring, expensify, and a lot more. Each of them has his success story and it always has something to do with ATTITUDE and VISION. Craig Newman said that he loves what he does that he even devotes 5 hours of his time as a customer service rep on Craigslist --- how cool is that?

4. I met my favorite business author, Michael Gerber (the author of E-myth), our company became the social media consultant of multi-millionaire Noah Alper, author of The Business Mensch and I met Tim Ferriss, the author of "4 Hour Work Week" - We chatted briefly and he asked me what's the Filipino of, "I'm glad I met you" - Ok i was tongue-tied and couldn't answer coz he was way too cute! I also discovered that the author of the business investment book that I read (David Bach) is our neighbor

5. We live comfortably in a nice house in the Bay Area. We have everything that we wanted although we didn't really need a lot.

6. I saw the paintings up close of famous painters (I used to just look at these paintings online): Van Gogh, Degas, Gaugin, Cezzane, Monet, Manet, Renoir, Sisley, Michaelangelo, Da Vince

7. I traveled to Europe, US, Asia, and South America. There are still a lot of places I want to go to. Half of these trips are tax deductible.

8. I used to wish I'd own designer handbags and even had a mental list of what I want based on what I saw in Vogue magazines. Now I can afford and have most of them.

9. We got our dream cars cash

10. The most surprising is seeing Alcatraz from afar. I used to have a fave book (though I didn't understand what it was about), called "The Alcatraz Incident" and wasn't sure if Alcatraz existed. Lo and behold I saw it one day when I was having coffee at the porch of a Victorian house in San Francisco. I'm taking my family to Alcatraz soon.

11. We recently bough xx,xxx shares of Apple

Things in my list that's pending to happen (I know these will happen)

1. Live in Europe for 6 months

2. See Rosemann Bridge in Iowa

3. Go to Bahamas (happening soon, I just booked a cruise)

4. Go to Tahiti and Bora-bora

5. Go to Iceland

6. Own a BMW (again -- we sold the other one when the market crashed)

7. Live in Atherton or Blackhawk

8. Start a real estate business in the Philippines

9. Buy a building or buildings in the Bay Area for rental

11. Meet Oprah and Steve Jobs

12.  Build a Balinese-inspired house in the Philippines with sprawling Zen gardens

13. Send some Cambodian and Filipino kids to school

14. Others - too long to type

Btw, divine dreamer Napoleon Hill, did not get his ideas from Robert Collier. Napoleon Hill got his break in 1908 when he interviewed Andrew Carnegie. Impressed by Hill, Carnegie hire him to study and interview 500 successful businessmen and women on how they became successful and able to  acquire great wealth. From his years of studies, he saw a pattern and common denominators that made these men successful and that's how "Think and Grow Rich" came about. If you read the book from cover to cover, Napoleon Hill cited examples and stories from those people he interviewed and that's what makes Think and Grow Rich different from other LOA books. His book was the result of years of studies and interviews and not from copying someone else's ideas.

Based on personal experience, love for work wasn't enough for me but it sure helped since despite long hours of work, I didn't end up hating what I do. I have another small ventures, which I don't care to manage at all, but my partner is so passionate about it and that's why it works, too.

I did everything to reach to where I am now. I wouldn't have grown this company without hard work and persistence. Giving up is not in my vocabulary. I have to call all US businesses first and get rejected before I could say that my company isn't profitable at all. I worked my ass off -- day and night, even on vacation I would be on the phone talking to clients and contractors. There were times when I would work 16 hours a day and made sure I executed everything in a timely way. Sure, hard work paid off, and I don't do these things anymore (Didn't I say delegate???), however, without passion for work, I wouldn't have lasted a day longer.

I must say, then, that passion + vision + hard work must go hand in hand. Imbibe these things in your daily life and you'll be successful in no time. Perseverance is also key but you MUST KNOW when to stop esp if you're not making any money.

^oh im sorry.. i got that one wrong.. it was the other way around.. :) thanks for pointing that out sis.. ;)
but that's not because he copied it but because metaphysical studies  and success principles are the in thing during their time.. much like the dawn of physics and the renaissance perhaps.. :)
and yes sis.. like i said i did read the book.. :) i have read better so that's probably why it didn't register that much.. :p lol
i did all those too.. to get my business off and running.. had to work almost the whole day.. even through the night.. problems you have to deal with.. resolutions that should be made.. :) but i guess i'm one of the lucky ones because i never once felt like i'm working my ass off... it's all child's play to me.. after all,  i have yet to see a child who would say she's "playing" her ass off.. ;) lol..
sure, there were bad moments.. but yeah maybe our sis here is right.. it's your attitude that counts.. because at the end of the day.. i always find something to thank god for.. and i think that's good cause that's part of LOA... ;)
and always have reasons to share.. not even thinking if i will have something for tomorrow.. i think that in itself already made me feel abundant and blessed.. even when i had practically nothing at one point in time.. :p
and so far.. from my love life.. to careers.. to places i want to visit.. it's all worked out for me so far.. and now.. we're buying a new home.. and i already have a picture in my mind.. i want it exactly like that..so wish me luck.. ;) we'll see then if this will still work for me..;) lol..
well in the end.. theories are theories.. what works for you may not work for others.. ;)
hard work is a subjective thing.. what maybe hard work for you may not be hard work for others.. ;)

i just wonder... if someone feels like something they like doing is hard work.. then what happens when they die? do they feel regret that they didn't reach the goal? that all their hard work was wasted?
well, i like reaching goals.. but i make sure i enjoy the process... :)

oh ..and that's why i said perseverance should be coupled with INTELLIGENCE... i don't think a person who's using his intelligence wouldn't know how to stop.. ;)

if you think about it.. whatever you do.. there's gotta be emotions involved anyway.. ;) the LOA was just merely saying that instead of dwelling on negative emotions... there's an easier route to help you get what you want.. and that's just to start feeling happy! :)

the LOA is about "attracting" in to your life those things that you want.. maybe through ideas..or opportunities or people.. it did not say it can make it happen for you.. :)

for those who would like to have a more scientific view about this.. read up on quantum physics.. ;)  i think that's a lot more understandable and probably a lot more believable for everyone.. ;)

Hard work doesn't have to mean spend more time and effort on work. I agree this is subjective, but you know when you are successful and you look back, you can say, "Ay pinaghirapan ko to".

Another thing, always thank GOD. God has great plans for us --- we just have to open our lives to Him and He, in turn, will shower his graces. When I pray for something, He grants it right away. He never fails. Whether others call it the law of the universe, it doesn't matter. The bottom line is, it's all the same and the end results are always the same.

yes, i believe in Law of Attraction. kahit nung bata ako, super ambitious na ako. i was born and grew up in a province. dati, pinapangarap ko makatrabaho sa makati. d ko alam kung papano kasi d ko pa naman alam ang gusto ko ng college. come college, ayaw ako payagan ng daddy ko mag UP kasi daw iba ang buhay ng Manila. yung dating iniimagine ko na naglalakad ako sa makati nung bata ako, kahit tingin ko d na mangyayari, at night, i always end up seeing myself working in makati. gustuhin ko man, i didnt know where to start. kumbaga, naka program na siya sa utak ko since nung bata ako lagi ko siya iniisip. come college, engineering naman ako.. goodluck, kasi sabi ko baka cebu or provinces and bagsak ko dito kasi i'll end up in a plant or operations site. just before i graduated college, i applied a job in a call center who happens to be in our province to have a job fair. akalain niyo mga sis, out of 900+ applicants, isa ako sa 5 na natanggap to work in Makati. I was 19 then when I was walking through Ayala st. and mind you, I was working on the 50th floor of the tallest building in the Philippines, PBCom who has 54 floors! kita ko pati kaluluwa ng Cavite! hahaha.

basta pag may gusto ako, before I sleep, i always imagine myself holding that thing, cellphone, bag, shoes, etc... hanggang sa nakaprogram na sa utak ko kahit d ko na siya iisipin, when i hit the sack, yun na ang huli kong maiisip hanggang sa isang araw, magiging akin na lang.

then it was 2 years ago when i read The Secret. sabi ko sa sarili ko, d na siya secret kasi all the while, ito na pala ang ginagawa ko. minsan, sa sobrang kakaisip ko sa isang bagay, sumasakit na  ulo ko. hahaha. pero pag ganun, i tend to clear my mind.

pero on top of that, lahat ng mga gusto ko nangyari kasi nagsikap din naman ako. i mean, d naman siguro ako makakatungtong ng makati kung d ako naging excellent student. naks! d naman siguro ako makakabili ng material na bagay kung d ako nagttrabaho. at the end of the day, i still owe it to myself. thanks to my powerful brain and the whole universe who cooperates with me. hehe

I agree! Good luck to everyone. Personally, i don't want to be friends with negative people. They don't help eh, they pull you down. Pero pag driven or positive and isang tao, I'll make sure s/he becomes our friends.

Sa totoo lang I don't like to listen to other people's problems. Yun kasi, it affects me in the long run. Parang, yung pagiging nega napupunta sa akin. Affected tuloy performance ko. On the other hand, pag happy at successful people ang friends ko, pati ako happy din. Kaya I think we should really select our friends carefully. Bawal depressed, bawal nega, bawal tamad, at bawal galit sa mundo.
