Hi sis jenny_2284..  kailangan pa itakip ng foil ang baking dish whether by steam sa stove top or bake sa oven?  Thanks again..  I'm going to try your recipe and hopefully, the texture will come out like yours!  wishful thinking  :D

^ sa oven kasi when i bake i don't cover aluminum foil eh. pag sa stove mo steam and patong patong sya (llanera) better siguro takpan para safe. pero bantayan mo din kasi baka ma-over cook.

madali lang mixture, sa pag steam mo lagn bantayan, better na buksan or check mo once in a while if mejo jello na sya or hindi. mas mareremedyuhan kasi pag mas malambot kesa sa mas matigas (overcooked)

I bake it @ 175c for 35 mins

Sis jenny_2284..  Preheat na yun oven to 175C or pagpasok ng baking pan then set to 175C? And lastly, would you by any chance know approximately the number on the oven knob that is equivalent to 175C?  Thanks again for all your help!

Hi sis jenny_2284..  Finally, was able to make a yummy leche flan!  First time ko makagawa ng jello type yet firm na leche flan and no holes inside or within the flan (really smooth!) except for the side part na nakadikit sa lanera.  Thanks sis for patiently answering all my queries!   :)

ako din sis jenny, thanks! naka two batches na ako ng leche flan dahil 1day lang ubos ang isang square pan. :-)

baked din ang ginawa ko. smooth nga and not so sweet, tama lang ang timpla with the melted sugar. kinalimutan ko na yung dating recipe ko. :-)

i wonder kung gaano katagal ang pag steam kung sa stove.

ginawa ko to, masarap nga kaso hindi siya smooth at di ganun ka-firm. hindi katulad nung nasa picture. or dahil hindi 10min yung preheat ko ng oven.

Sis,  I followed the advice of sis jenny_2284 only I steamed mine for 30 minutes using an electric stove.  I covered the laneras with aluminum foil, set it on 'high', once there's presence of steam coming out, I set it to 'simmer' nalang then timed it for 30 minutes and voila, a jello-like flan without a single hole within!   :)   ..yun lang nga, may mga holes sa sides yun nakadikit sa lanera.   Sis jenny_2284, if you're reading this, is there a way to eliminate the holes sa side part, yun outer part ng flan or these are unavoidable?  Thanks!

For me I follow my friend's 911, 9 yolks 1 can each evap and condensed. Add a 1/2  or 1 tsp lemon Or calamnsi juice to temper the sweetness plus add  1 tsp pure vanilla. Mix everything then add to your baking pan na may caramel na. Steam for 30-45 until jiggly  in the middle.  Or bake @ 375F using bain-marie method.

So far this is always a winner each time I make it.

hahaha. try din natin magtry ng other recipe pa. puede yan yng with chiffon. tapos leche flan yng top. me nakita na recipe, try ko muna gawin then will share here.

pag sa stove i think ganun din, babantayan lang and pag  layer pa ang gamit mo na pang steam (yung sa min kasi malaki three layers, mga almost 10pcs na llnera kasya) kailangan pag alternate mo lang sya (yng asa ilalim na batch lagay mo sa ibabaw, vice versa).

@ jen_2284 - sis thank you sa recipe mo, it's my 2nd try na gumawa ng leche flan, nung 1st try ko nag search lang ako ng recipe sa net at unfortunately hindi success, lol, this time after i saw this thread and read your recipe i tried it right away, at ayun success naman, hindi siya overcook at hindi naman malambot, sakto lang siya. parang jello yung consistency niya. perfect yung lasa medyo sumablay lang ng konti lang naman dun sa sugar, i don't know kung sobra ba sa sugar or kulang pa sa melt yung sugar na nilagay ko. i turn it upside down kasi para nasa taas yung sugar niya, some of the sugar nag caramelize naman, parang may syrup siya but some of the sugar on top nag melt naman but hindi yung parang syrup or caramelize yung consistency niya. but other than that it's almost perfect naman, hindi siya nadudurog. OT, sis pa share naman nung seafood paella recipe mo, ok lang ba? it looks good and matagal na ako nag crave for paella, TIA sis :)
