@lilsaintsmom: thanks for that. I'm not really sure what's the difference between schools with deped accreditation and yung wala pero yun ang naging deciding factor ko. Wala rin ako masyadong nakitang feedback sa GLC e kaya nag alangan ako. I'm happy naman with CCDLC after summer class ni baby kaya ok na rin.

BTW, ang gingerbread ata sis 70k+ na (ata ha).

If a school is not accredited with Deped, that is a minus point for me.  It implies that the school's owner/director/principal is not concerned with legalities.  Kung hindi nila priority ang accreditation, be wary.  Let's say something happens to your child while inside the school because of negligence on the part of the faculty or staff, kanino ka magre-report?

^Good point sis! Thanks! May nabasa din ako na pag hindi sila nagpapa-graduate (preschool graduation for example) hindi rin accredited sa deped. I'm after the reviews kasi based from experience from parents e kaya since walang feedback for other schools, hindi ko na dun inenroll. Sigurista lang. hehe

Ma ot lang ako. Nakakabother nga lang dun sa gingerbread mamention ko lang din ah for the sake of reviews lang naman. They have this warning sign on the left meralco post sa gilid ng gate nila. The sign says "Magingat sa pagtawid, may namatay na dito" Kung ako kasi parang matatakot nako paaralin dun anak ko kasi deadly yung highway na yun. I remember then last year enrollment period someone took down the signs then a few months it was back again. Di ko lang alam kung warning was from mmda or sa kanila.

^ saan ba sis yung carmel child? is it inside carmel subivision? Hinahanap kasi namin ng husband ko naguguessing game kami. Ang dami kasing carmel eh.

My son finished his month-long summer class in Carmel Child last week .. and he likes it there .. what i like most is they are strict pagdating sa security ng mga bata ..

^^ Sis, it's inside Carmel 3 yung village at the left side if you're facing Cherry Orchard Condo (likod ng Cherry Foodarama).

^ My daughter enjoyed her summer class there too. very important talaga yung trust sa teachers and security ng school, kasi meron mga instances na you'd have no choice but to leave your child in school, at least kampante ka na di nila pababayaan anak mo habang nasa puder nila. Di ba?

^^ I agree to that. Ang maganda pa sa kanila is they know each student and level (by name). Alam din nila kung sino ang sundo and in case iba ang sundo, the teacher will verify. But for me, in case iba ang sundo ng baby ko, i always inform the teacher first thing in the morning para aware na sila. 

This is my 2nd year na of my son in CCDLC. Good thing they opened an afternoon class for nursery level. Tapos na dilemma ko in searching for a school with a PM class.

visited gingerbread house of learning along congressional ave.  the school is very nice and teacher sab is nice as well.  i think my son will like the school because it looks like the school of barney in one of barney's dvd :-)  also, the school is much nearer to valenzuela than pediahouse in katipunan and the nest in matahimik.

my fear is that i have not received feedback about the school and when i tried to backread i only saw one post about the school :-( also the would be classroom of my son is on the 2nd floor.  while we do have stairs at home, we have not given him access to it becuase it is made of cement and the railings are made of steel naman :-(

i'll take my son to gingerbread tomorrow and check if we will like to the school and teachers...

naka-enroll na ang anak ko sa The Growing Place last Friday... the last day din of their summer preschool. semi-annual ang pinili namin mode. at so far kumpleto na kami sa supplies. excited ang nanay mamili at mag-label ng gamit! hahaha!

gustong-gusto ng anak ko pumasok dun, kahit sabado or linggo tinatanong nya ako kung papasok ba kami sa school. nung last day sinabi yata ni teacher na sa June na ulit ang pasok. naku halos everyday tanong ng tanong ang anak ko kung ilang tulog pa daw bago mag-june.

imo, super worth it ang summer class ng son ko dun kasi natuto agad siya ng songs, how to line-up, na dapat sumunod sa teacher, na dapat friends sila ng mga classmates nya, how to draw, how to write his name, etc...

nakakatuwa kasi maski mag-isa sa bahay o sa kotse kinakanta niya mga songs nila. dati ng gumagamit ng english words ang anak ko, aral kasi sa disney channel, pero since nag-summer siya parang talagang naging part ng vocabulary nya ang english words and phrases... natural na natural.

nung una worried ako, 1st day feedback kasi 'defiant' daw ang anak ko (medyo hirap nga kaming pasunurin siya), pero nung kinausap ko siya sa sinabi ni teacher saken, at yung hindi na siya papapasukin ulit sa school kung hindi siya susunod at pag bad boy siya, parang lightbulb moment sa kanya. nagbago talaga ang expression ng mukha, parang nag-worry na baka nga hindi na siya talaga papasukin.

ngayong bakasyon, pag makulit siya or hard-headed ang panakot ko sa kanya isusubong ko siya ke teacher at hindi na siya papasukin nun sa school kasi ang mga bad boy hindi pinapa-pasok sa school. nagbe-behave agad siya. sabi nya ayaw niyang hindi pumasok sa school. clap, clap, clap!  

so looks like good choice kami ng preschool. next problem eh grade school. puro traditional kasi halos lahat ng schools dito.

^No offense, pero hindi ka ba nag-worry na sinabihan ng teacher na hindi na sya papapasukin pag di sya sumunod at pag bad boy sya? Para sa akin kasi parang threatening yung teacher. I believe there are other ways to encourage good behavior, and for her to label a child as bad kind of sets an alarm in my head.

^ hehe sis, ako lang ang may sabi nun. nung sinabi saken ng teacher na 'defiant' yung anak ko nag-usap kami ng anak ko sa bahay... sabi ko nga pag hindi siya sumunod (or matigas ulo niya) hindi na siya tatanggapin sa school kasi bawal dun ang 'bad boy'. maski mga mommy at daddy ayaw sa bad boys, good boy lang dapat lagi.

panakot ko sa anak ko pag sobrang kulit na siya at tigas ng ulo. naku believe me, i'm always at my wits end pag sobrang tigas na ng ulo ng anak ko.

we've tried 'stand in the corner', grounding (no TV), bribing him with toys, scream-fest, talking to him heart-to-heart, maski spanking when his behavior really gets out of control... pero talagang makulit at matigas ang ulo niya. the only thing that seemed to work (for now) is yung panakot na hindi na siya papasukin sa school pag 'bad boy' siya or pag hindi siya sumunod sa sinasabi sa kanya.

naisip na nga namin siyang ipa-check for ADHD... kasi talagang madalas halos maloka na ako sa pagpapasunod sa kanya. kapag kaming 2 lang sa bahay mas madali siyang pasunurin. pero pag nandun ang daddy niya at lalo na ang lola niya (mother ko) naku suuuuuuper tigas lalo ang ulo.

he sometimes gets to his daddy's nerves na din kasi nga hindi masaway. pero yung lola niya talaga ang 'kunsintidor'. pag nandun si lola at ipapa-stand in the corner ko lang eh kontra agad si lola. kaya alam tuloy ng anak ko na pag nandun lola niya walang makakapigil sa kanya. gusto ko na ngang i-ban si lola sa bahay namin eh. 

bago ako ma-OT... nung pinasok ko siya sa TGP, nakita ko ngang enjoy na enjoy siya at naging sociable. at yun nga kahit paano, may panakot ako sa kanya para sumunod siya.

kung may suggestions ka pa on how to encourage good behavior, naku please do share it with me. kasi first time parent ako at talagang madalas gusto ko ng 'isoli' ang anak ko sa pinanggalingan nya!

^Sorry, akala ko teacher ang nagsabi nun sa kanya. While I was writing that post I was thinking about my daughter too kung paano when she goes to school. Sometimes she gets stubborn at hindi ko talagang maiwasang magtaas ng boses at ma-frustrate sa kanya. Pero ako yun, nanay nya ako. Pag may narinig siguro akong hindi maganda from a teacher, hindi ko talaga magugustuhan. There are things that I've said in anger pero hindi ko pa talaga sya sinabihan na bad kasi ayokong maalala nya na bad girl sya. I tell her I don't like what she did, it makes me sad/unhappy, this is what happens when you keep doing that, etc, etc. Pag sobrang nakailang ulit na ako at ayaw pa rin sumunod, I stop yapping, raise my hands, and say, OK do what you want to do, and walk away. Dun bigla syang titigil. Ewan ko, I'm also new at this job, and sometimes I'm not sure either if I'm doing it right. Pero promiae ko talaga sa sarili ko to never call her a bad girl kahit anong galit ko.

^hehe, same tayo sis... syempre kung ibang tao na magsabi ng something about our kid eh ibang usapan na yun. kaya nga nung sinabihan siyang 'defiant' at hindi sumusunod i really felt na dapat kong i-address.

kaya kinausap ko siya agad pag-uwi namin about sa sinabi ni teacher, at para maintindihan nya ang consequence ng ganung behavior, sinabi ko na hindi na siya papasukin sa school pag bad siya, kasi bad yung hindi sumusunod sa sinasabi ng teacher.

so far, pag sinabi ko na isusumbong ko siya ke teacher eh sumusunod na siya. another time kasi sinabi saken ni teacher na ayaw niya ubusin yung food niya. so kinausap ko ulit siya. the following day siya pa nagsabi saken na tanungin si teacher about his food. it turns out inubos na niya. 

kaya natutuwa ako na positive yung response niya sa TGP. pero sana ma-address naman yung sobrang kakulitan at pagiging stubborn. sa june nga kausapin ko yung teacher na pagsabihan. hehe. kaya lang iba na teacher nya sa june, sana same response pa din sa kanya ang anak ko.

I was able to visit Brick's Learning Place along Roces. Sa may Rolling Hills daw sila galing sa New Manila. Any feedback about this school mga sis? Thanks!

I visited these preschools this afternoon:

1. Kinderhaus (14 Sgt. Esguerra Ave., QC, Tel. no. 9266244) - The compound looks ok, medyo magulo kasi nag-aayos daw sila for the coming school year.  Tuition fee=55k.

2. Children's Little university (48 Samar Ave., QC, Tel. no. 9200007) - Maliit lang pero maayos din naman.  But they only have afternoon class for my child's level.  Tuition fee=35K for Freshmen, 52.5K for Sophomores-Seniors.

3. Brick's Place (2nd Floor, M&J Bldg., 123 Roces Ave., QC, Tel. No. 4154957) - Maganda at maayos kasi bago yung place.  Dati daw nasa Rolling Hills, New Manila sila.  Yung preschool class nila is sama-sama yung 3-6 years old, but the teacher explained to me na during the first 2 weeks of classes, the children will be assessed tapos gagawan sila ng personalized curriculum. Trimester sila.  Tuition Fee=85K.

Tomorrow I'll try to visit Kidschool (mornings lang daw sila nag-e-entertain ng inquiries), CHILD, and maybe Raya.  But right now parang gusto ko dun sa Brick's Place kahit may kamahalan...  On the other hand, parang gusto ko din sa Kinderhaus kasi may outdoor play area at mas affordable ang tuition fee...

Sis I like Brick's Place too kasi malinis at bago ang place. Nakapag sit in ka ba sis?

Mahirap ang parking sa Raya at maliit ang rooms for toddler class e kaya d ako tumuloy.
sa child, ganun din plus the teacher wasnt able to handle the kids well kasi nabully pa din ang anak ko. ibang iba sa experience ko sa Links. Sa Links nga lang, medyo may kalumaan na ang place. But the teacher was impressive and the kids too, very disciplined sila.

I havent visited kidschool but i have heard good feedback.

ilang taon na baby mo sis? baka gusto mo sa gymboree? magoopen ang Robinsons Magnolia. Very ner our place too.

^Wala akong inabutan na classes kasi afternoon ako nag-ikot.  My son is turning 4 in August.  I wasn't able to shop around yesterday, but I hope I can do so today.  Humaba nga yung list ng gusto ko tignan e:

Enrolled my kid in Bloomfields Development and Literacy Lab.

We initially planned to enroll him in CCDLC but then due to financial contraints we decided na sa Bloomfields na lang. Pikit mata na lang ako ko na di sa CCDLC kasi sobrang gusto ko si Teacher Less pati yun school talaga. Walking distance pa naman siya sa amin. Wala naman ako magawa kasi Dady nya mag-papaaral at wala ako work.

Hopefully maging maayos ang school niya with Bloomfields, read good reviews naman and Teacher Belle told me that she'll make sure that my kid could read na by October with comprehension. *cross fingers*

^where is bloomfields, sis? Di pa nga rin ako kami nakakapag enroll sa ccdlc kasi i'm working out our budget but i really like the school for her e.
