^correct me if Im wrong, but the goal of the universal kindergarten is to make the kindergarten level mandatory. Some public schools kasi do not require this. Minsan diretso to grade 1 w/o any prior schooling. With private schools naman it is really required na nag study ng preschool prior to entering grade 1. Parang wala akong alam na that allows student to skip preschool.

hello mga sis, share ko lang -- my daughter just got accepted sa PAUW UP-CCC.  yey!!  hindi naman siya nag-test or anything.  we just submitted her application form last Feb 8.  Teacher Car called us last Monday to tell us about the good news .  bale, we are supposed to pay the tuition fee amounting to almost P23K (non-UP dependents) by March 22 and that's for the entire year na. 

hubby went to PAUW yesterday to inquire about arrangement for school service and luckily may nahanap naman kami.  the service is P1900 a month, kasama na yung yaya namin.  i think this is just for 1 person so kalong na lang yung daughter namin nung yaya kung puno yung service.

hubs was told that there will be an orientation on May 22 so dun na namin malalaman yung ibang details.  As for the uniforms, ang sabi we just have to give them white T-shirts which will be printed w/ their school logo. 

*btw, they have other payment schemes like semi-annual (almost 10k), quarterly (almost 5K), and monthly (around P2,300).

we had the chance to observe classes sa CHILD and unfortunately, I was not impressed as much as I was with LINKS kaya tinanggal ko na sya sa list ko. There were a lot of reasons but primarily, I didn't see the discipline inside the classroom. The teacher couldn't handle the kids and they were just all over the place.

There is relatively new school near our place too, BRICKS. Has anyone heard of this? It is a Vygotkian  Preschool. I might drop by and inquire one of these days.

Hi sis. Do you have their number? We would like kasi sana to inquire if they would accept our daughter, whose 2 years and 6 months sa summer art class nila. Nakalgay kasi for 3 1/2 years old and up yung class. How old is your child? We're planning to apply na din for June, kaso ayaw yatang pumayag kasi di pa raw about sa minimum cut-off age yung anak namin when the school year starts in June.

progressive, 2 classrooms with a play area outside and a lot for parking space, approachable and friendly teachers from UP, they really explained to me all my concerns unlike some other schools I inquired na parang robot ng kausap, the owner said they wanted to concentrate on preschool so they never thought of opening a gradeschool. I have decided to enroll my child this school year to Intellikids because I also consider that his preschool should be near our house unless I can still find some preschools here just inside the GSIS Village, kahit maliit lang basta tingin ko maganda ang foundation. Please share a comment if you know someone who's enrolled in Intellikids, thanks!

It was recommended by a colleague kasi sobrang galing daw ng teacher, nacompare nya sa isang anak nya na sa iba nagpreschool. When I talked to Teacher Lydia, i really saw it to her. This was my 2nd choice only kasi medyo malayo na samin though I really don't know exactly where they transferred in San Lorenzo.

When I inquired last May, they didn't have students yet for nursery. For kinder, I think the ratio is 5:1 they just started their preschool, hey already have gradeschool and highschool, all in 1 big building.

4 I lost the brochure for this school which has Mandarin class in their curriculum
It is inside Enopi, a building in Congressional Ave. in the Mercury Drug side near Petron

If i remember it right, their age for nursery is atleast 3.8 years old. When I inquired, we were given a pin that says "Speak to me in Chinese."

Thank you soooo much, Mommy Halie. These schools are near our place too kaya sobrang helpful itong post mo sa akin. I have only visited Carmel Child, Creative Explorer & Gingerbread House. Sana makahanap na ako ng magandang school so I can enroll my daughter this summer. So far I had my heart set on Carmel Child pero ang dami pang iba around our area. Please let me know your feedback on the school where your child enrolled in. Sobrang lapit ng Intellikids sa amin.

Hi! Newbie here. Finally, natapos ko na rin basahin itong thread na to (after reading the first thread Preschools in QC -- all 32 pages!). Kahit papano nakakuha ako ng magandang tips, advices and schools na hindi ko alam na meron pala sa area namin. I'm going to look around again for preschool with my little girl very soon and I will also post feedbacks here to help others.

^sis, glad to know you are considering Carmel Child. My son was enrolled here in nursery sy 2011-2012 and we enrolled him na for summer class and right after will enroll to kinder.  we are very happy with this school, especially with the way they nurtured him and dealt with some issues with his behavior.  before enrolling him here last year, we had visited several schools after his summer class in a progressive school but chose Carmel Child after talking to the administrator.  teachers and staff are so nice, guards included

^sis, ang eldest son ko din studied in Carmel Child (nursery & kinder level). and now he will be in Ateneo for Prep this coming school year.  tama ka sis, the guards and teachers and staff are nice.

m preschool hunting with my little girl. We went around proj 8, proj 6 areas and Visayas Ave. I checked out some of the schools that were mentioned here in the thread that are within these areas and right now parang nagsisi ako na nagikot pa ako. hehe

Here's my list:

1. Glendale in Shorthorn, Villagers Montessori, Intellikids all in Project 8 area. Di na ako pumasok to inquire because of the school's location (sorry). They're near our place but yung lugar, yung parking kino-consider ko rin so di ko na sila pinasok.

2. Creative Explorer in Visayas Avenue
 Type: progressive
 Fee: 59k up
 Comment: No uniforms, activity materials are not included in the fee. I visited this school because it was recommended by a friend and they said they use the progressive approach. Like most preschools, their school is previously a residential house that was converted to a school. The teacher I spoke with was very accommodating. The only thing is, I am not comfortable with their location. Their school is located in Visayas Ave just before McDonald's. There is a line of jeepneys in front of the school waiting for passengers. Ang hirap mag-park. I'm worried that if I enroll my daughter here, mahirapan akong samahan sya sa school. Kung ako lang ang maghahatid, I cannot let her just get out of the car and walk alone, of course, so I need to park. I scratched this out of my list.

2. God's Little Creations in Neptune St. near Cherry Foodarama
 Type: progressive
 Fee: 38k up
 Comment: I just saw this school when we went to Carmel Child last week. I thought, well, why not check it out na rin today (but really I had my heart set on Carmel Child). I rang the doorbell and I was let in by a man. We were asked to sit down and wait at the front porch. Bahay talaga sya so nagdalawang isip na ako, parang gusto ko nang umalis kasi karamihan ng nakita kong ganito, they only have a room converted into a classroom. Nung dinala ako ng teacher sa school area nagulat ako. Ang ganda and bago and they have little tykes playground. The classrooms are also nice. They have their own restrooms na kiddie-sized. Their student-teacher ratio is 1 teacher 1 asst teacher and 12 students pero sabi ng directress minsan 8 to 9 lang nage-enroll. Another thing that caught my attention was their curriculum. Aside from progressive, they teach Singapore Math and Singapore Reading. Also according to the directress, students din nila sa Ateneo, Holy, STC na nagaaral ngayon and the parents were happy kasi nagt-top yung kids nila. Of course I still believe it depends on the child pero kung maganda foundation, why not.

Ngayon nalilito na ako if I want to enroll her in Carmel Child or God' Little Creations. Huhu... Kaya nagsisi ako ngayon kung bakit umikot pa ako. Hahaha.. I've read lots of good reviews about Carmel Child kasi kilala na sya pero parang ang ganda din ng program ng God's Little Creations. Help naman mommies. Iba pa rin pag may actual feedback from parents e.

^same here, my son just recently finished his toddler class in Carmel. I'm so proud of him.  Ang laki ng improvement niya. What I like with Carmel is their teaching, more specially to my son's teacher. I also agree that their staff are very nice. Imagine my son will even share stories pa about kuya guard who always carry his bag, manang who helps in washing their hands and packing away toys, etc. 

But sad to say, we will now move to another city, I need to preschool hunt again. Sigh, back to zero.

Hi mommies!! Just want to know, especially those who live near CCDLC, have you seen the school God' Lit'l Creations near San Nicolas Church? According to their brochure, they use Singapore Math and Singapore Reading. I visited the place and everything seemed clean and new kahit sabi ng directress that they've been operating for 13 years na.

Na-confuse ako when I visited this school. They're cheaper and maganda facilities but I read from 1 comment in momexchange that they have no deped accreditation. Is it true na pag walang prep level, hindi accredited ng deped kasi di sila pwede magpa-graduate? Is this the reason why hindi ako makahanap ng review or blog sa web about them? Sa preschool directory ko lang sila nakita. Please enlighten me. TIA.

Open pa ba ang PAUW UP-CCC.? How much ang tuition fee sa carmel child? My hubby and i agreed to transfer my son to another school next schoolyear. .

Does anybody have an idea how much ang tuition fee sa Miriam preschool? Is it true that they use the Singapore Math method? Naghahanap din kasi ako ng gumagamit ng Singapore Math; medyo malayo lang sa amin iyang God's Little Creations.

@DV, Miriam CSC's tuition fee is around 85-90 k per annum or thereabouts.

Alam ko sa grade school naka-Singapore math na sila.
 Dunno about their pre-school math, seems traditional to me when I visited back in 2009 when I was preschool-hunting for my little boys.

If you want your daughter to have a headstart on Singapore Math, you can enroll her in an enrichment center like Mathemagis or Galileo.  This is what I am planning to do in case my husband and I decide to send our sons to Ateneo.  As of now, I am very satisfied kasi with Montessori Math.  I had my kids assessed by Mathemagis last weekend and I am waiting lang for the result of the assessment.

^ In Mathemagis, the Junior Math Champs module (for kids 4-6 years old), which runs for 10 sessions, cost P7,000/10 sessions.
I have no idea about the fees of Galileo.

Mathemagis has branches along Timog Avenue and Katipunan Avenue. It has a website and a Facebook page.
