Deworming your child

^ sis, hindi ko na natanong since hindi din naman ni-recommend ni doc yung deworming. Next month pa yung checkup ng kids, pwede kong itanong yun. Nag-backread ako and may nabasa ako na nung time nya kapag nagde-deworm sila nilalagyan daw sila ng bawang sa ears, nose and eyes para daw walang lumabas dun. Pero may nabasa naman din ako na nag-deworm sa kids nila na wala naman daw lumalabas sa mga openings.

1) Ang hindi clear sa akin ay bakit need magpalit ng mga beddings kasabay ng deworming? May mga eggs or source ng worms ba sa mga beddings? Although it is good practice naman na mag linis narin after deworming.
2) my daughter will turn 2 yo soon. Napansin ko lang medyo mataba ang tummy nya. Is this normal sa bata or sign na iyun ng worms inside?

I will have her be dewormed after her bday.

3) san ba nakukuha ang mga worms na yun?

Yes, worm eggs can stay in the beddings and other items, such as food, water, air, feces, toilet seats, door handles, fingernails, and remain there for up to 3 days.

If you find that your child has worms, everyone in the household should be treated as well to prevent re-infestation since it is contagious.

Also, if your children still use high chairs in restaurants, it is good practice to sanitize them before using kasi usually hindi naman yan nililinis ng mga staff.

Hi everyone! I'm new here. Also, a 'newbie' mom. Marami kasi ako worries and katanungan pag dating kay baby lalo na sa kalinisan. Ngayon kasi nalaman ko kasi may 'worms' yung isang batang kasama namin dito sa bahay na nagbakasyon for summer. I am so worried kasi feeling ko mahahawa baby ko, kaka 1 yr niya lang this May. Marami kami kasama sa house kaya iba ibang hands humahawak saknya. Marunong na din siya maglakad and kung ano ano hinahawakan and nilalagay sa bibig.

Questions ko ay:

Possible ba na magka worms siya agad?
Mahahawa ba siya nung batang kasama namin dito?
Pwede na ba i-deworm si baby na kaka 1yr pa lang?
Ano ba symptoms ng may worms? Help

^Usually at age 2 ang start ipa-deworm ang bata, but since there's someone in the same household who's infected, mas mataas ang risk na infected din ang baby mo since it's contagious. Please consult your child's pediatrician so s/he can give you advice about proper medication (if there's a need). I think even the adults should be treated as well. Clean the entire house, and sanitize everything na hinahawakan at inuupuan ng maraming tao. Proper handwashing lagi, especially yung nagpe-prepare ng pagkain.

QUANTREL SYRUP it is! My son's pedia preferred this to be used for my son because it will kill the worms before it will come out. Other than this, deworming med, worms are still alive when it will come out. Sometimes, worms will come out through the nose and imagine if the worm is still alive. hehe so since then, this will be our preferred deworming med, ever.

Is the Quantrel Syrup OTC? TIA! Planning to deworm ny child soon but Pedia said if there's no signs, okay lang wag na, but my husband wants to kasi payat anf ayaw tumaba plus malaki tyan and ang hirap pakainin.

My husband is quite worried of our 1 year 8 month old son. Mahilig kasi magsubo ng kung ano ano nakikita at nahahawakan niya.  He wants to have our son dewormed.

kami din worried ng asawa ko sa bunso namin kasi mahilig magsubo ng kahit ano. the last time we've checked sa pedia eh di pa daw recommended kung wala pang 3 years old si baby eh kakatwo palang nya last July.

Pwede bang walang reseta or do I need to have her consulted again? sobrang laki kasi ng tummy nya so I'm worried baka meron ng lurkers sa loob.

Pediatrician advised us to start deworming at age 1 yr . My son is now 19 months and we do it regularly every 6 months. He also said that everyone in the entire family (parents, sibling, etc.) has to be dewormed at the same time otherwise, it's useless.
