Deworming your child

im a nurse and was in pedia ward before.. we did deworming and yes its true na lumalabas sa ibang areas ng body. pero for my baby now who just turned 2 years old, takot ako but im planning to deworm her, will give her quantrel, single dose.

honestly,wala pang nadeworm sa amin.. lalo na kids.. takot nanay ko eh.. and tita kong doctor advised against it.. kung hindi rin lang talagang needed huwag na lang daw

My daughter will turn 3 this September, hence the pedia advised me to give her Mebendazole for deworming. They may be a possibility that there would be worms or not.. I'm so scared. Does this have to be taken during evenings or anytime of the day? I think I need to wait for my husband when he arrives coz I can't do this alone..

The last time we visit his pedia sabi niya deworming will start at the age of 2. Pati yung Typhiod vaccine niya. He will be turning 2 years in 2 months.

Kailangan rin ba walang sakit un bata kung de-deworm mo? Currently kasi may sipon ang anak ko, pero gusto ko na sana sya i-deworm.. Lately kc sabi nya ang itchy ng bum nya..

what is this?!?!?! It's the first time I heard about it! Is de-worming routine or only if you suspect parasites? OMG! Ewwww

^ Upon the recommendation of the pediatrician, we do this yearly, every summer.  My children take Mebendazole and hopefully, the next day when they poop, out na rin the worms.  Oh and the worms can be so tiny and thus, they are not visible to the naked eye.

This is for good hygiene.

My daughter won't eat these past few weeks. 13.5kg sya and she just turned 4 last Mar.28. As in utuan, sapilitan, paiyakan magpakain. But in the end ako pa rin talo dahil magaling magluwa ng kinain.

Her new pedia advised to replace her Nido milk with Pediasure at Heraclene for two months lang naman. At the same time e purgahin with Combantrin.

Nadeworm na sya when she was 2, wala naman nakita. Pero ngayon parang takot na ako ideworm sya dahil nanunumbalik ang ganitong experience ko when I was a kid. Believe me, it was traumatic for me (though patay naman yung worms na lumabas sken pero nakabitin sa.. u know where.. waaaah!)

tagal tagal ko ng plano to since 2 year old daughter ko pero 5 na now wala pa rin. takot kasi ako. hahaha. wala din naman kasi recommendation ang pedia nya. tanong ko nga next visit.

^ Wala kaming nakitang yucky.  Most worms are too tiny to be seen by the naked eye.

it is a must, rose? or as per pedia's recommendation lang?

^ Not really a must, but recommended.  Ok lang naman. Yung Combantrin, may chocolate flavor pa.

My daughter is 3 y/o when we moved to cavite, so naghanap kame ng pedia na malapit lang din. When she turned 4, the pedia asked kung na-deworm na sya, sabi ko hindi pa. He advised us to deworm her. Sabi ni hubby na kapag ginawa namin yun, possible na sa ibang body parts lumabas yung worm, natakot naman ako kaya hindi ko ginawa. Nung time for checkup nya uli, dun ko sya dinala sa unang pedia nya sa QC and asked her about deworming. Sabi nya yung mga doctor daw sa province usually nagsa-suggest nun. And kung hindi naman daw naglalaro ng lupa si baby, maliit ang chance na magkaron sya ng worm. So hindi ko na ginawa

Done with deworming for this summer.  As always, we did not see any worm get out of the body.  Really?  Sa ibang parts of the body lalabas other than the anus?  First time I heard of it.

There is nothing to be scared of.  Saka, kesa naman nasa loob ng katawan ng bata ang worm di ba?  Mas mabuti nang i-deworm.

This is a good thread. Talking about the pros and cons of deworming and being able share our feelings, beliefs about it.
I have same sentiment as marose. Bakit ako matatakot palabasin ang worms inside by kid? What is more horrifying is letting the kid have the worms alive inside him/ her
And need lang na caution in deworming, as i was informed before, is to follow the correct dosage fr the pedia. Kasi yung med is like a poison that will kill the worms.

1) Ang hindi clear sa akin ay bakit need magpalit ng mga beddings kasabay ng deworming? May mga eggs or source ng worms ba sa mga beddings? Although it is good practice naman na mag linis narin after deworming.
2) my daughter will turn 2 yo soon. Napansin ko lang medyo mataba ang tummy nya. Is this normal sa bata or sign na iyun ng worms inside?

I will have her be dewormed after her bday.

3) san ba nakukuha ang mga worms na yun?

sis, did you mentioned to the Pedia's about what your husband told you? na lalabas yung worms sa ibang body parts kapag dineworm ang bata?
