We have a yaya that's been with the family for 3 generations. Until now, she's still with us. She never had her own family. We are her family.

1 year na kaming yaya/house help pero may communication pa din kami with our 3 previous yayas.

yaya 1- more than 2 years samin, umuwi lang ng province dahil aayusin ang love life

Yaya 2 and 3 will visit us this month for a vacation daw. nakakataba lang ng puso na yung mga dati namin kasambahay ay gusto ulit bumalik / bumisita samin. We are really blessed to have them as angels ng house. I love them.

Our eldest's nanny has been with us for more than 3 yrs. Since bebe is already in school, we enrolled our yaya sa college so she has something to do than wait for baby sa school and para na rin sa future niya. We are shouldering her tuition (city college lang naman) as our help to her kasi ang laking tulong niya din sa family namin. She will be in 2nd yr college this incoming school year. She always has pasalubong sa alaga niya everytime umuuwi siya and during sweldo, me chicken joy lagi si bebe. She also helps around the house w/o us asking her to do it especially na umuwi HH namin ngayon due to chix pox. When I didn't have a nanny yet for my bunso, she would volunteer to take care of bunso so I can rest.

I am so happy with my yaya now.  So far she doesn't answer back, and you can see that she loves my baby.  I'm confident that she's not hurting baby kasi hindi takot sa kanya.  She made a drawing pa of my baby, talent niya kasi.  Somehow I want to give back, kaya kahit sa small things like pasalubong when we went abroad, i give that to her.  And sana nga i want to giver her son a new backpack for school din para ganahan to go to school.

Our yaya, pag nag dayoff pag uwi may pasalubong sa mga anak ko, very sweet gesture that is one way of showing na she really treats our kids as her kapatid.

Madalas ko siya mapagalitan and lahat naman ng pangaral ko nakikita ko improvement sa kanya so it means pag napapagalitan ko siya hindi niya minamasama at tanggap niya pag may pagkakamali siya.

Both our maids now are heaven sent. She prepares steamed food for my baby and relieves the yaya if she has to eat or take a bath.  Yung maid before her, sobrang kwenta sa trabaho and hindi nahihiya sa pagnood ng tv.  Kala niya I won't let her go just because I need her.

We had a helper when I was in Highschool, her name is Rowena. She stayed with us for a year. She was soooo kind, kahit minsan nagagalit ako sa kanya dahil 1st timer sya. Chill lang. Napaka matiisin nya.

Umalis sya after a year, sabi nya babalik sya sa amin. Kaso wala na kami balita ever since bumalik sya ng province.

I miss you, ate Weng! Sana miss mo din kami.

I hired a yaya/all-around back in February. She used to work as a teacher assistant in a small preschool in the province so she's very good with kids. She would teach my kids nursery rhymes/songs/dance and do arts and crafts. She's not the type who would put the kids in front of the TV to keep them entertained. She has a way of calming my kids during their off moods...better than I, my husband and my more senior yaya can ever do. Quite smart too and her English will put to shame most customer service people. I can entrust to her to guide my son with some of his assignments, my younger daughter's practice drills for speech therapy and help with my older daughter with memorization work in school. She'd bring home pasalubong for my kids when she gets back from day-offs (but I generally discourage my helpers from doing this cause I rather that they save their money for them). Super sipag din. After coming home from my son's school, hindi yan magpapahinga unless tapos na lahat ng kailangan niyang gawin. Whenever she would have moods (which is rare), tatahimik lang. No answering back, simangot or dabog-dabog.

But I guess good things are not meant to last... Nagpaalam siya last week that she's leaving in October (which is also unlike others na will only give you an overnight notice). She recently got the result of her high school equivalency test (something like the GED of US) and she passed. She can go to college without her HS diploma. Ang problema, with the K-12, "GED" is only valid until this school year. Even siya na-pressure kasi daw she hasn't saved up enough money and will have to find a part-time work in the province. But she doesn't have any choice cause by next year, she'll have to go back to HS before going to college. I felt so sad when she asked permission. Not because I'll be losing an employee and would go through the rigors of hiring a new one...but because I'm losing a "gem" of an employee. Even my husband shares the same sentiments. He even suggested of giving her a substantial increase just to convince her to stay. Or even offering her to study here in Manila and work part-time for us. But my kids' school and after school schedule is quite hectic. If she juggles both her studies and working for us, something is bound to  suffer. So with a heavy heart, I allowed her to leave. The kid has big dreams and will not settle to be a yaya/helper forever because she's supporting two younger siblings (her mom is already dead and her father practically abandoned them for another woman). I cannot hold her back from leaving to achieve something bigger.

Nag day off ang angel namin sa house then sabi niya afternoon ng Sunday siya uuwi she is always on time naman sa sinabi niyang oras at araw ng balik niya after her offday at may sweet pasalubong na naman siya sa mga alaga niya, kaya  tuwang tuwa mga kids ko sa kanya. She always help my daughter with her assignment.

Binigay sa amin ng friend ko yung Yaya nila of 20 years kasi magreretire na daw. She was with us from April last year, and was supposed to retire by December of that same year, pero inextend niya yung stay niya til February 2015.

Masasabi ko mabait kami sa kanya. We give her Sunday days off, and minsan, pag meh event sila sa church nila, a few days off basta magpaalam lang siya. Alam na niya ano kailangan gawin and you don't have to tell her to do something twice. She runs the house better than I do and alam niya ano yung mga kulang sa bahay. Para siyang mama namin, nilelecture kami if di kami kumakain on time LOL.

Namiss ko siya when she left, pero I knew kailangan na eh. She's 60++ years old. Nabigla lang ako tumawag nga April this year, gusto daw niya bumalik! Yey! So now, andito siya uli with us, mas naging close kami lalo na pareho kami mahilig sa Aldub haha. Ngayon though, meh once in a blue moon family reunion sila which nagpaalam naman siya a few months back pa, at pumayag naman kami. I guess I look to her as a mother figure talaga since malayo ako sa mama ko.

When that time comes, sana positive din yung experience ko sa next maid namin, though I don't think kayang pantayan si nanay Nida namin. :)

While surfing the net, my yaya and all around are trying to do the finishing touches of my toddler's halloween costume tomorrow.  Nakakatawa lang how creative and game she is.  I told her if she wins, she can get the prize even if cash yun.

Hi sis, I'm about to give birth any feedback about getting a yaya before my baby is born? Tia

That's what I am planning to do as well. Will give birth around May and may naka abang na akong yaya, nagiintay na lang sa go signal ko when sya mag on board. Baka March is ok na rin naman.

When we are having breakfast medyo sinisipon na ang bunso ko so nung nalaman niya na nalalabas kami mega bilin si yaya ng cool fever baka daw kasi lagnatin si baby kasi may sipon.

The yaya of my eldest wala ko masabi.  1 month na kami walang yaya for my bunso and she took it upon herself to take care of the baby narin with the help of our all around.

I got really lucky with my current helper. Sobrang reliable, ang laking convenience talaga pag okay ang kasambahay.
