^ako din. :| fascinating yung idea pero when I think about it, parang nakakalungkot. of course enjoy din kasi minsan yung ibang tao naghhold back sa mga gusto mo puntahan. honestly, sa isang day feel ko ang dami kong magagawa kung wala akong ibang kasama. kahit dito lang sa mall eh sobrang dami kong mapupuntahang shops tapos sila super bagal, lol...

We had this same thought when I've learned that some people do travel alone, girls pa man din. Malungkot and parang boring blah blah. Nililipasan na ako ng mga seat sales kasi hindi decisive yung mga inaaya ko din dati. We would all want to travel, but kapag nilagyan na ng pera at oras factor, nag-iiba iba ang priorities ng mga tao.

When I was hell bent in pursuing my dream destination, I went ahead and booked a flight. I did the itinerary for myself, and I only had to consider myself. I had a blast during my solo trip! It was quite a retreat, in a way too.

I was also very concerned who will take my picture. Turns out that it is the least of my concerns now. You will meet and befriend a fellow traveler along the way, or a nice local will even volunteer to take your pics. If wala, there is always the tripod. When they see you using a tripod, maawa sila and magvovolunteer sila na kunan ka ng picture. It ends with a nice short chat with a local/fellow traveler. Ngayon, this is not even my concern anymore. Alam kong magkakapicture ako kahit anong mangyari.

Solo travel was more fun than I expected. I tried my first solo travel in 2011.
I was supposed to have 4 solo trips this 2012. It was trimmed down to just 2 solo trips this year kasi nakahanap ako ng mga kasama.

Kaka-praning. Yes. But I learned that there is still good in the world. There will still be people who will help you during your trip. It may not be for everyone, but you will not know if you won't try.

Same with you girls, although may sariling saya naman kapag marami ka kasama, naf-frustrate din ako sa hirap mag decide at bagal makakilos kapag maraming kasama sa travel. Inflexible ba. Lalo na kapag family ang kasama.

My 2012 was kinda dull (and also, unlucky) so gusto ko sana mag resolve that I will get out more in 2013 to enjoy my life, as soon as maka recover na ako sa operation ko and maging fit enough na uli ako para maghike-hike at kung ano ano pa. The problem is, yung default partner ko sa mga ganito (boyfriend), di niya priority yung travel. Napag awayan pa nga namin yung proposal ko sa bangkok for holy week 2013. Pumayag naman siya pero parang napipilitan, and I hated this because nabawasan yung excitement and future enjoyment ko of that adventure.... kasi sobrang nag-guilty din tuloy ako kasi di rin biro yung gagastusin namin dun.. sana pala, sinolo ko na lang. For some reason, I felt wrong lang to leave him out, pero at the same time.. ayun. Confusing.

Ayun. Long story short, wala lang ako kilala who share my dream na makatravel nang madami (without compromising with a group that is too large and inflexible).

Natetempt na talaga ako mag solo. Pag magaling na ako, paplanuhin ko na talaga yung Sagada ko. Mag isa! Bahala na lang sila kung gusto nila sumama, basta ako tutuloy for sure...

CHECK. Kapag group travel, pag pinaplano parang excited lahat tapos kahit seat sale "ay ang mahal hanap ka iba... ay di ako pwede ng ganyang araw..." parang puro excuse na lang. :|

Thanks @melodmedley, nabuhay mo ulit yung desire ko na magsolo travel. For me di naman prob yung pictures ko, mas gusto ko pa mag take ng scenery shots. Sana matuloy din ako before 2020. That's about 7 years. I really wanna visit a place na hindi city, yung tipong sight seeing talaga.

Looking forward for my first and last solo travel for this year on Nov. 25 to Nov 28 -- exploring the Bacolod/Talisay/Silay area in Negros Occidental.... then finding my way to Boracay to meet up with friends there.

Finally, i've plucked up the courage to take my first ever solo trip next year!! Im thinking Valentines week para ka-Valentine ko ang sarili ko. I will be going to Bangkok or Siem Reap

mga sis sa nakapag solo travel na outside the philippines. hindi ba kayo nahirapan sa immigration officer? di ba kadalasan hino hold nila ay yung mga solo traveler?

This is something that I really, really wanted to try. Ang hirap kasi that you couldn't go to places just because no one's coming with you. It's either you travel solo or get a travel buddy, diba? Haha. Sana magawa ko na 'to soon!

^^sis ycel0612, hindi naman sis. basta present mo lang roundtrip ticket mo, passport & kung may hotel reservation ka sama mo na rin though di naman required yon. isang tanong & isang sagot lang din sa IO. then kung government, make sure na may travel authority ka para hindi ka mahold & umuwing luhaan.

Sis ycel0612, hindi pa ako nagsosolo trip pero ilang beses na akong lumabas ng bansa na magisa lang (I usually visit friends abroad kai). Hindi naman ako nahold o napagdudahan. Complete kasi lagi documents ko.

grabe ako nahold. kasi wala ko docs ng tita ko.. hehe. eh sya kasi nag invite sakin sa HK. ayun napuntaa ko sa immigration center. interview interview buti dala ko mga business permits at tinawagan ko tita ko.. nag padala sya ng copy ng passport nya. after nun ayun tinatakan na passport ko. akala ko talaga di nako makakaalis.. naawa ako sa mga di na nakaalis na kasabay ko ng flight.. wala kasi sila contact sa pupuntahan nila at kulang din mga dala nila papers..

^ Need ba ng invite letter sa HK? What if gusto mo lamg mag-tour dun magisa for a weekend?

when we went to HK, nagprepare na din kami ng invite letter though di naman humingi. kasi depende sa immigration minsan. un kasama ko kasi may kakilala naman na hiningan kaya kami, nag-ready na din just in case.

^^ I find that odd too.  Kung gusto mo lang pumasyal, di ba hindi na dapat kailangan ng kung [textspeak!]-anong documents?

(I guess what I'm saying is.....ano ba pakialam ng Bureau of Immigration ng Pilipinas kung turista ka?)

^^sis lecky, mas ok pa nga minsan na wala kang kakilala kasi magpapabook ka talaga ng hotel/guesthouse. yong iba kasi kaya pinagdududahan na raraket don kasi walang work dito, tapos may friend don & makikituloy lang. syempre iisipin ng IO kung babalik ka pa ba. pero basta honest ka lang kung wala ka naman talagang gagawing masama don, wag kang matakot sis. ako, yong address ng friend ko nilagay ko sa embarkation & wala namang hiningi sa akin na ibang docs. roundtrip ticket, passport & travel authority lang (pag nasa govt. ka)
