BOEING 747 SERIES 400 yan, not AIRBUS. What appears on the agent's screen kasi is the three-digit code of the equipment aka aircraft being used kaya siguro ganun pagkakasabi sa yo...taken at face value lang nung kausap mo....And yes, that is the one with the upper deck. The problem kasi right now with most of the agents answering the lines, they're not yet familiar with the jargon blah blah...keep in mind na the reservations center is being run by agents from PLDT e-ventus na...outsourcing na kasi ang PR, diba...so mga hindi pa well-versed...more often than not nga, when I call, parang gusto ko nang turuan yung kausap ko, esp when the calls take too long...sa airline ko before, max na kasi 5mins ka sa line with a passenger or else...

Yep, dami naman offers for kids...but it depends na din, I guess, sa age and hilig ng kid mo. Yung junior jetsetter kit kasi tamang-tama sa kids ko, ages 5-6...yung child meal, depends din sa panlasa ng anak mo...Sa Japan Airlines before nung maliit pa ko, parang transformers type na robot that turns into a JL plane..ay, OT.

Ang CX kasi madaming flights out MNL na mostly daytime kasi via HKG. May 2 or 3 lang ata sila na night departures from MNL.

^Sikip naman talaga anywhere in economy...nakaka-claustrophobia...you have the option of getting the CESS naman if you prefer being seated on the exit row or bukhead (subj to inspection by airport pa din kasi for able-bodied pax yun)...may charge lang na USD20-50 depending on the destination pag intl...di ko sure sa domestic...

sis, i also heard about the A330 safety issues. yung mga Qantas planes ba na nagka-emergency lately, A330s yun? sorry ha, i'm not familiar with the make of planes eh but i'm very curious. i thought airbus were better than boeings? enlighten us naman to those sisses in the know. ang 5J ba, ano ang fleet nila?

Just to assure everyone there are no safety issues on both Boeing and Airbus aircraft. If ever there are there will be notices that will be issued mismo by the manufacturers.

As to the Qantas emergency landing in Singapore, it was the A380, the latest and biggest aircraft of Airbus. The incident is still being investigated so don't draw your conclusions yet. Main concern right now is the engine that was used. Every aircraft have different engines i.e. Rolls Royce, GE, etc.

mga sis ano massuggest niyo since kasama ko yung daughter ko for a long trip saan mas ok umupo sa pinakalikod o medyo harap? kasi nung nag plane kame via CP malimit napapaupo kame sa middle, parang medyo close sa wings...parati niya complain masakit ang tenga niya tapos na papa-vomit...awa ako sakanya pag nag lalanding

You're partly right. "B744" stands for Boeing 747 series 400, the latest in the 747 aircraft. The 400 stands for the series not the seating capacity. When Boeing came out with the 747 in the 70s they started with the 100 series, then they had the 200, 300 and now the 400.

So when you see the following:

B742 - that would be the Boeing 747 series 200
B744 - that would be the Boeing 747 series 400
B777 - Boeing 777 series 200
B773 - Boeing 777 series 300

For Airbus naman:

A320/A319 - Airbus 320 and Airbus 319
A330  - Airbus 330
A340 / A340ER  - Airbus 340 and Airbus 340 Extended Range

Upfront would be better. As far away from the engines as possible, that would mean the overwing.

  Very diplomatic reply eh. I seem to have spooked people. Sorry, didn't mean to. Partly power of the mind na siguro and those shown on the tv documentaries re Airbus. They're not "hugot" naman from out of the blue, of course. But I would like to let everyone know that flying is still the safest form of transport in the entire world.

Regarding the incident in SIN, or should I say, incidents, those were 1) an A380 2) & a B747 the following day...both were QF planes. I arrived in SG the day the A380 incident occurred. Both were all over the news so mega-explaining ang QF CEO, of course. And yes, still under investigation pareho so no worries everyone.
