I've been in this situation before, I tried a lot of things/job, may related sa course ko merong hindi. In fact this is my 10th job and I'm not even 40. Rolling stone ako nung bata pako until I found a job where I stayed for almost 10 years.
Let me share two things I learned:
1. Find a Mentor - Dumating ako sa point ng career life ko na hindi ko alam kung ano talaga ang gusto ko talaga, until I found MENTORS. This changed my life. Sabi nga sa isang movie na napanood ko (but I don't remember the title anymore, parang "Wall Street" yata) in one's life you should find yourself a mentor and an apprentice. A mentor to look up to and an apprentice to lead. May guide ka and you have someone who will remind you that there is solution to your problems, kase sila nga nalampasan nila yung problems nila. So lagi kang motivated. If you made it na, you have to pay it forward. Get an apprentice. Somebody to guide and someone who will inspire you to continue to grow. Hindi mo kailangan maging matanda o super successful para maishare what little you have. Basta you have something, ishare mo sa apprentice mo para mamotivate kang mag-acquire ng bagong knowledge or skills, so you can continue to share.
The other thing I learned is...
2. Do not rely on your 'day job' alone for your own 'fulfillment'. Then I realize that my job will never fulfill me as a person, kase my job is suppose to 'finance' my other fulfilling activities. Though, there are jobs that can lead to self-actualization, like being an author, designers, artist, etc. pero dapat gawin mo to without thinking of compensation.
but keep whatever job you have that pays the bill! Halimbawa, gustong gusto mong ng photography, pero ikaw ay isang accountant, be an accountant in the morning then involve yourself sa photo club, or umattend ka ng photo seminar pag week end.
but never give up the job that pays the bill.
