WORKING ABROAD- Share your ways how did you get there..

Mga sis, please share your stories on how did you get a job abroad for the benefit of those who are wishing to try their luck.
What are the ways did you push through? Who has given you help and support when you were just starting to build your own life in other country? How much money did you need to spend? Are there painful experiences you had in the beginning of your career abroad? How did you cope up the loneliness away from your family?
So anyone who wanted to start the story? Just post away sisses, your story will surely be a great help to our OFW wannabees.. (Count me in.. )

working from the branch then my boss asked me to join HQ office they will sponsor also my whole family (husband & son) so di ako masyadong na home sick ngayon okie na okie na kami dito

as in we really want to stay here na as we get older (Singapore)

Swerte si sis Mami Violy at na endorse sya ng company nya. I think that is a good way to work abroad, apply ka sa Manila companies that have offices abroad, para may possibility ka ma-assign outside of the country.

I tried that avenue, pero not successful.  So apply lang ako ng apply hanggang sa nakahanap ng work. Brought my family din with me. Kaso I miss my parents.  yun lang. So tawag tawag nalang sa Pinas from time to time.

Pero when I was single, I also worked outside the country, dun na homesick ako kasi wala akong kasama sa flat.  I spent my time shuttling back and forth sa Manila on every other weekends, or at least once every 3 weeks, shopping shopping shopping, not to mention mataas na phonebills.  Kaya wala din ako naipon. 

Spend?  not much, it's more of the start-up costs like rent deposits, mga electric fan, microwave, minimum basics you need in a house.  Tapos shipping din my stuff.

Painful story?  hmmmm, siguro more of colleagues ibang culture. Though I did not experience it elsewhere when I was posted in China, pero ngayon with SG, parang galit sa mga foreigners mga locals, at tuwing may magandang news sayo or kung gusto ka ng boss, lalo silang hindi masaya. dunno why. Very competitive lang mga tao dito.

@ Mami Violy- I've been praying so hard that one day, one of the prospective employers we had sent our resumes will going to offer a job order.. Im happy to hear your story.

@ sis Blooming- OO nga, balita ko naging super higpit ang SG sa goreigners, sana wag naman nilang paginitan mga Pinoy. Anong magagawa natin kung hardworking ang Pinoy at mga locals eh mostly lousy sa trabaho?

*Been working abroad for the last 12 years and still counting..

*For me, it took me 2 yrs before being recruited directly.

*I received a postal

*At that time, it was in late 90s when I started to apply by sending hard copies of my documents through postal mail (during that time, internet was still I guess in the early stage of conceptualization).

*I was ecstatic to received a registered mail saying that the company has received my mail (meaning my mail has reached to their attention) and that gives me a ray of hope and then nothing has been heard since then.

*I did not expect that one day I will receive a good news that I have been considered for the job that I applied.

*and the rest is history as the saying goes...
