mas matipid ba sa electricity yung electric stove or induction cooker? we're currently using an electric stove (with 3 gas burners) kasi sa condo e.. thinking of switching to induction cooker if mas tipid and mabilis rin makaluto. Yun din bang induction cooker, kahit saan pwede ipatong, or may specific kind of table since umiinit sya? kasi dati we were supposed to buy yung single lang na electric stove kaso sabi di daw pwede ipatong sa kahit anong surface (na table) so di na namin tinuloy.

I've been watching this thread for over 2 years now and over this span of time I have changed my budget for the right over for our home, with the following price range:

a) P8-10k
b) P10-15k
c) P15-18k
d) P20-25k

Anything more than P25k would mean my husband will start demanding gourmet cooking EVERYDAY to justify the cost. ;)

Within the past 2 years, the brands I looked at would fall under the following categories (limited to 50cm width models):

a) Union and Matrix - all enamel finish (body and cover)
b) Union, Fujidenzo - all enamel (body and cover) with the exception of a brand new Whirlpool oven I saw in Sulit which sells for P11k. :)
c) Indesit (no safety device as the salesman from Western Marketing claims), La Germania (3 burners only) - all enamel (body and cover)
d) La Germania, Elba, Ariston and Electrolux - stainless steel body and tempered glass cover and oven door.  These are mostly electric ignition, 4 burners (with the 4th burner either electric or gas), and some has rotiesserie.

If you're considering long-term use for both cooking and baking, I think it's best that you look into the 4th category, since in terms of durability the stainless steel body would last longer than enamel finish.  Ariston has 58L oven capacity while those of La Germania has 49L oven capacity.

So finally, after the loooooooong search, I will buy a La Germania. :) I hope the gas range will serve its purpose for many years to come.

I grew up with a La Germania with one compartment at the bottom and a gas tank compartment.  I had to dispose of this when we moved out of our old house and in the interim bought the La Germania 2-burner stove top.  I've been meaning to replace that trusty old stove top, with a gas range so I guess it makes perfect sense to also go for a La Germania. :)

I still have a few questions though:

1. Is the Italia series of La Germania the ones from Italy?  How about the Idea series?
2. What home applicance would be rendered unnecessary with the gas range?  I plan to dispose an old Tecnogas turbo broiler, a small oven toaster to clear some space.
3. What is the usual price range for a 50cm La Germania range hood?  I don't need the duct type, just the filter type.

Thanks!

^ Sis, I'll try to answer some of your questions. I bought the La Germania M651C71X, Italian series, and I'm very happy with it.

1. Yes, the Italian series range ovens are made in Italy. According to salespeople and La Germania users I talked with, the range ovens made in Italy are sturdier and more durable than the ones made in the Philippines and China. Since hindi naman ako bibili ng range oven again anytime soon, I opted to buy the more expensive range oven from the Italian series since they will last much longer.

2. Siguro yung turbo broiler mo will be redundant since you have an oven na. Pero bear in mind that you have to pre-heat the oven. Just check if it will consume more gas/electricity than a turbo broiler. I still use my oven toaster for re-heating breads, pizza, etc., kasi nasasayangan ako sa gas kung gagamitin ko pa ang oven to toast bread or left-over pizza. I use the oven to bake cakes, cupcakes, cookies, chicken, lasagna, etc.

3. I bought my La Germania range hood for P7,000. Maganda na yun, stainless steel with 2 motors. Meron range hoods as low as P5,000.

To the sisters here who bake food (as opposed to cakes)
Anong brand and type of oven would be best  to  bake meats (pork, chicken, beef) and veggies?
I want to start healthy eating na talaga, so far,  day  2 palang, so i just bought salads, oatmeal, ganyan. BUT, i know i cannot survive on those food, so i am planning to invest in an oven nalang, para i can bake food/real meal and take it with me din for baon whenever i go to work.

By the way, small space lang kitchen namin, so probably not gonna get yun mga gas type oven. Please suggest a good type and brand.

or Do you think
Turbo broiler nalang instead of oven?

2) built-in oven

out of the country po ako currently kaya di ko alam yung mga presyo ng mga yan.
may online stores po ba to check the prices of these items? halos puro gas range(stove+oven) lang nakikita ko.

@jenrb

Thanks sis.  Most La Germania hoods are 60cm pala, so I would have to check other options for 50cm hoods.

Is yours M85C 71X, or M65 talaga? Nice and spacious. ;) Is this the range hood na dual motor?  One of our sisses opted to go for this one too.

We tried grilling chicken yesterday and it turned out well kahit nangangapa. Later for dinner will try embutido naman, which we just usually steam.

I think I will frequent the baking thread these days. ;)

^^rhumba, if you live alone, a big oven is not advisable for baking meats. Unless magluluto ka ng maramihan then freeze the rest. Turbo broiler is a good choice BUT this eats up a lot of counter space. A toaster oven is another option. Just get the ones that uses rods and not light as a heating element then dapat dual source. Yung iba kasi nasa top Lang. What we have at home has dual rod heating element and is big enough to accommodate two chicken halves. But it's compact enough too that it doesn't eat a lot of counter space. I've tried baking chicken using this (when our gas operated oven ran out of LPG). Ok naman and maganda ang luto.parang faster pa nga ang cooking time since the heat source is closer as compared to a regular oven

Sisses, do you have your ranges cleaned professionally? How often? 2 years na our range and I think its high time to have our cleaned. Would anyone know if La Germania offer such services?

Hi! This is my first post. I would like to ask, which would be the best buy for an gas range:

 a) Electrolux EKM6645X
 b) Ariston CX61SN1
 c) Elba T61x631F
 d) Whirlpool ACM 631 1x
 e) La Germania FS603121

Been around window shopping and they all belong to the same price range 30,000+, but my concern is durability, after service, parts, etc...

The numbers behind the dials or knobs of my oven are slowly being erased.  I think they should be etched.  Anyone else with the same experience?

we're getting an elba all electric stove with hood since our condo doesn't allow gas stoves. totoo ba that an electric stove gets really hot when used? some are suggesting if simple food lang, might as well get an induction stove para hindi sayang yung elba. any thoughts about this?

Hi Sisses,

First time ko sa thread na to kasi kabibili lang namin ng Gas Range kahapon.  It's La Germania
FS531 30BR.  Here's the specs:

General features:
- 3 Gas, 1 Electric hotplate
- Gas oven, Thermostat control
- Gas grill with rotisserie/ oven light
- 100% Porcelain enamelled black body
- Glass top cover

External Dimension:
- 88(H) x 54(D) x 50(W) centimeters

Oven Dimension:
- 33(H) x 42(D) x 39.5(W) centimeters

Oven Capacity:
- 49.0 Liters

Just want to ask lang:
1.  Mas matipid ba ang Gas Oven compared sa Electric?
2.  I've noticed most of La Germania's models, Gas Oven ang kasama.  Does it mean ba na mas ok syang gamitin over Electric?
3.  I really have no idea how an oven works kung gas ang gamit.  I'm still researching over the net na rin.  But since andito na rin lang ako, ask ko na rin sana kayo... how does it work? Is it safe?
