I'm about to buy a range hood for my kitchen and I want to know which brand/model is the easiest to maintain and that would last me many years.

I've been eyeing the hafele slide out range hood I saw at kitchen one. It's worth 9k when I saw it at wilcon. i just want something that would last although i don't cook much. i have a separate service kitchen so hindi sya magagamit masyado unless i do the cooking. something that's stainless steel para it would go with the other appliance i already have.

what range hoods do you have mga sis? ano rin yung mga pros and cons nila. TIA!

Per my experience,  anything that requires extra motion such as slide-outs -- have a shorter life than fixed models.

Range hoods last max 5  years, generally... kahit na ba sabihin mong high-end at bihirang gamitin.
With appliances, choose those brands that are established here already and have service facilities.

^ parang flip phones ano? it's just so cute and clean looking. siguro yung fixed na lang and mukhang flat if ever. pero gusto ko talaga is stainless steel. la germania ba maayos ang service center? or what brand ba ang may good after sale service?

La Germania should be a good alternative, it has been there forever.
And its service is always prompt and efficient.  My Service Kitchen range is a La Germania.  When it needed to be pulled out for major cleaning.. talk about maid abuse kasi... they put in a replacement range free of charge.

me too, la germania din. pero di pa naka-install. im moving next month. mine has two motor, ibig sabihin mas malakas lang yung fan to absorb heat and fumes.

maliban sa madaling linisin at accommodating na service center, hindi ko na alam kung ano pang qualities ang dapat kong i-check sa range hood.

tingin ka sa SM appliance, sale kanina nung pumunta ako. 4 to 7 K rangehood, may white black and metallic finish.

I just bought my range hood last saturday at Abensons (St.Francis Square). LaGermania ang brand. Nasa less than 5k sya, stainless cover and stainless din yung filter. Yung una naming choice ni hubby is yung 4k lang, kaso hindi stainless yung filter so it must be replaced after 6 months. Then we saw this stainless filter nga, which you have to clean lang every now and then, no need for replacement. Hindi pa namin na-install coz hindi pa gawa yung kitchen namin.

i was at abenson's kanina. looking for a range hood nga. la germania na dual motor and stainless steel lahat yung kukunin ko sana pero 7600 na yung cash price nila. hindi ko na binili kasi before that i was also at wilcon. nasa 6k lang yung ganun nila. same model sya. kaya tomorrow or thursday, baka balikan ko na yun para bilhin.

ang elba ba maayos din ang service center? or best na ang la germania?

we just moved in to a new townhouse. we have a rather small kitchen thats why I want to extend yung kitchen namin sa likuran ng house. kaya lang mejo costly ang pagpapaextend ng bahay... so in the meantime pasensya na lang muna kmi sa small space kitchen namin. And para naman di mangamoy house namin because of the cooking, i'd like to install yung rangehood kaso yung nakuha namin na karpintero sabi kelangan daw mgbutas sa wall para sa exhaust ng rangehood. kelangan ba talaga to? nanghihinayang akong butasan ang wall namin eh.

help please!!!!

Yes, a working rangehood really has a hole in the wall through which the stale  air is pushed out.  Pero hindi basta hole in the wall ha.  May piping yan, usually pinadadaan sa taas ng cabinetry... out of sight, or incorporated in the top portion of the cabinetry that isn't opened. 
If your rangehood is more than  5meters from the exhaust hole.. you need an auxilliary fan installed to push out the stale air.   
So, if you rangehood is along the perimeter wall at the back of your townhouse, andon lang sa likod ang hole for the rangehood,  bingo!

The best thing really is to have the rangehood supplier recommend an installer to you... Mind the directions indicated.. how far above your range, and how far away from the exhaust exit... all home-use models I have seen must not be installed over 5m from the exhaust exit/hole.

While you have no extension.. perhaps you can have a temporary partial roofed kitchen set up outside?  So that the messy/longer -cooking dishes can be done there?    Such as fish frying, nilaga and the like?

If you screen in that roofed portion, although it may look like a bird cage    ... you practically have a service kitchen na, pending the extension.

But HOTMOMMA -- mind your association rules re extensions ha. 
They usually have, in addition to allowed measurements or set-backs, material requirements. 
Like, in our village, hindi puede ang just screened-in service kitchen.  But really, in our hot weather.. that is the kindest thing to our helpers cooking out there.

la germania ba gusto mo sis? di ko lang sure kung may iba pa silang appliances na binebenta pero mas mura ng at least 10% yun nabili ko from malls/depot. basta alam mo yung model number maibibigay nila yung price sa yo over the phone. sa escolta yata sila e. eto yun na-canvass ko na la germania models:

escolta: 7000

i bought the latter kasi all stainless steel finish sya. tel. no. nila 2421576, 2421585. may warranty rin sya from la germania.

I like this rangehood model of La Germania H-73.9. Pricey nga lang.

medyo malayo pala mga wilcon stores samin so sa Ansons na lang ako bumili. i bought a silver la germania - N-3601SS. cant remember the exact price but i think it's 5899. i got it for 5,500 - cash payment.
