just went through a series of interviews for unilab as a medrep. they told me that they will call me for follow-ups and it's been around a week since my last interview. should i worry that they won't make that call? is it normal for the formalities to be this long?

maybe i'm too nervous. it's my first real job after all

mga sis saan ba pwede mag apply for med rep?cause i applied via agency then sabi sakin yung hanap daw is with experience na eh ang naka post naman sa website nila fresh grad are welcome, with or without exp. so ako naman parang ano yun front lang nila para may mag apply?
really wana try this job kase nursing grad ako and wala pa ako job.

my friend was with GlaxoSmithKline and maganda ang experience nya dito. pahirapan lang nga magleave. nung hindi sya pinayagan magleave for her two-week european tour, she decided to resign. LOL.

try Wyeth rin. mukhang happy naman sister ng friend ko dito. lots of travel opportunities. and after certain number of years, pwedeng mapunta na sayo ang service car mo. parang 10% of the value of the car nalang babayaran mo. you get to choose your service car too. when the new honda city came out, tamang tama, 5 years na sya dun. so binili na nya yung previous service car nya and gave it to her sibling tapos yung honda city na pinili nya for her next one naman.

kaya tama mga pinost ng ibang GTers dito, go for the multinational companies.

Pfizer is a good company din. Actually, I've been a med rep here for a short stint. And finding out they're currently hiring again, I'm once again one of the hopefuls to be shortlisted. (They allow reapplication if one had a good status naman).

Sis, ask ko lang kung ok lang sayo. Bakit ka nagresign kung maganda naman sa Pfizer? Meron kasi akong officemate na dating medrep. Nagresign sya kasi stressful daw yung job. Kailangan daw umabot ka daw sa quota. And totoo ba yung naririnig ko about some medreps na nakikipagrelasyon sa mga doctor para lang may benta?

That was 5 years ago pa kasi. Imagine how young I was during that time and shaky pagdating sa decision-making. After training, I was being assigned to Quezon province. Young as I was, takot pa ko to go out my comfort zone. I later realized sayang, I let go of the opportunity. And my some of my closes batchmates in training are still there. Sila [textspeak!] mga tipong na-deploy in Davao, Ozamis, etc.. but now they're assigned in Manila na.

sis i think it depends sa medrep kung yun ang way nya para makabenta. pero parang that is so unprofessional na makipagrelasyon sa doctor for the sake of benta. madami namang strategies na pwede gamitin e. i think yung pakikipagrelasyon is a desperate act na.

@sis slumbering anong division sa unilab ka nainterview?pwede kc na they are still interviewing some and are finalizing the list ng kukunin nila kaya wala ka pa nakuha feedback..try asking mga nakasabay mo sa interview if they got a call na..

about sa pakikipagrelasyon sa doctors, meron naman talagang mga relationship na nabubuo out of love and not because desperate sila sa benta..usually companies don't tolerate this actions so personal call ng rep if mag give in cia sa ganong situation (di naman lahat ng doctor ganito) but if you love your work and work hard, you can reach your quota without those "extra" activities..in this industry kc very important yung relationship mo sa doctors, yun yung pinakapuhunan mo..if you established rapport with the doctor chances are irereseta nia yung gamot mo..

marami na kaming kilala na nasibak sa trabaho because nakipagrelasyon sa doctor... medyo strict ang unilab sa ganyan... may mabalita nga lang, nililipat na ng teritoryo...

ingat ka rin sa mga 'extra' activities para maka-quota... may mga corrupt na managers pa rin na gagawin lahat para good shot sila, pero pag nahuli ng admin, yung medrep ang bubuntunan ng sis, hindi yung manager...

From what I know, Unilab does not accept Nursing Grads. RN lang ata?

yung sister ng classmate ko nung college medrep. kwento ng classmate ko, may bf daw na doctor yung sister nya. kahit ba bf or gf lang sa doctor bawal?
 
anong "extra" activities ibig mong sabihin sis? can you site some examples? sorry kung mausisa ako. gusto ko lang kasi malaman yung nature ng work.

^oh, let me make myself clear... bawal makipagrelasyon sa doctor sa teritoryo mo or even sa area mo... let's say ang teritoryo mo is st luke's, bawal ka makipagligawan or makipagrelationship doon... or, if ang area na under ka is QC Area 1, dun din bawal... they value professionalism very much, and ayaw nila na may ganyang mga kuwento na ginagamit ang personal relations para makabenta...

with regards to 'extra' activities, i'd rather not mention na lang kasi baka makakuha pa ng tip yung iba...  ... but just one example is, yung nagdi-deal sa doctor or pharmacy ng sobra sa allowable... for example, 10+1 yung company deal, gagawing 10+2 ng rep basta oorder ng not lower than 50 boxes... syempre, yung rep na ang magbabayad nung extra 5 boxes na kasama sa deal... and youre talking of at least 10k sa mga ganyang deal na galing sa bulsa mismo ng rep...

^I agree with you sis. That's one of the types of x-deals that's happening sa pharma industry at marami pang iba. Hopefully, maclear na yan para naman totoong sales na 'yung magenerate.

Ang hirap pa if iyong area na minana mo, nanggaling na sa ganyan at kelangan habulin ang pagkataas-taas na history na ginawa ng naunang rep. Nagsusuffer tuloy 'yung next na magha-handle ng territory.

^there's a term for that - 'tambak' or 'padding'... lalo na kung due for transfer na yung rep na matagal-tagal din na hinawakan yung teritoryo... they will ask the doctors and pharmacists to order goods that are enough for at least 6 months, para walang magiging benta yung kapalit na rep... worse pa nga, some reps, tatambakan yung pharmacy, and since PDC ang bayad, minsan nagre-return ang mga pharmacy ng stocks... ang di maganda dyan, credit sa dating rep ang sales, pero yung returns sinisisi sa bagong rep...

ganun? hirap naman nun. kaya pala yung officemate ko na dating medrep ang sabi stressful daw yung work. mahirap pala bumenta kung ganyan yung situation.

about sa assignment naman. how long naman maaassign yung rep sa isang place (province)? may chance din bang ma-assign sa ibang country yung rep?

^Indefinite ang stay if you're assigned in the province. Of course, you can always request for transfer of area, pero it's not that easy. Marami rin kasi ang nagrerequest especially being assigned in Manila. It depends na sa company how they profile kung sino ang pagbibigyan nila.
