Hi, which method of teaching is better for preschoolers, progressive or the conventional?

It will really depend on the personality of your child.  It would be best if you also go around and check the schools that you have in mind.  I came from a  traditional all girls school, but I feel that the class size is just too big.  Personally I am thinking of bringing my son to a progressive school, but it would still depend on how things will turn out.  Not all children will thrive in a traditional set up and the same goes as not all children will thrive in a progressive or montessori set up.

iba ba ang quality ng la salle antipolo sa la salle greenhills? bakit PARANG mababa ata ang tingin nila sa antipolo?

hi sis khayzee! la salle greenhills and la salle antipolo is same, the head of lsca is bro. franco who is also from lsgh. same curriculum its just that, only lsca offers socialized tuition fee, this is not degrading residents of antipolo but to help other parents who cannot afford lsgh but wanted to their kids to study in la salle.

Sis, san nag nursery baby mo? OLPS sis is yung sa may simbahan di ba? If I'm not mistaken. Bago lang kase kame dito sa Antipolo kaya hirap ako humanap ng school for nursery para sa bunso ko.

question. what month dapat mag visit or mag inquire sa school for transferee for next school year? were planning to move in next yr sa antipolo, im from qc so medyo need ko planuhin ang pag visit ng school. If hubby is working abroad, yung employment contract ba nya ang ipe present instead of itr?

^Ideally, it's better to visit the school so you can talk to the person in charge, tour the facilities, observe classes and what not. The start of application varies depending on the school. Also, I don't think proof of income is part of the application requirements. In my daughter's preschool now and in Assumption Antipolo, walang proof of income naman na kelangan.

To those asking about Virtudes De La Academia --- my daughter graduated Kinder 2 here last March 2014.  Facilities and surroundings are good.  Malinis and their materials are new since the school was just founded last 2012.  Some of their way of teaching is like HEdCen (as my eldest son graduated there in his preschool). My daughter's materials were already for Grade 1 even she was just K2 then.  Kaya lang sa HEdCen they are more environment-friendly.  They used to make projects using recycled materials while sa VDLA they seldom practice that.

In Virtudes, I don't like their rules na if there is a project you need to make selfie and post or email it to their FB account.  Pati ba naman yung pagbibigay mo ng goods sa street children.  They required us to have selfie while giving the goods to our chosen street children.  Okay na sana, that you will share blessings, I just don't agree na kelangan ibroadcast.  Maybe they can just let the students narrate what or how  they did.   And then, I just noticed na kapag may projects sila or school activities laging kasali si "FB". I understand that is a marketing strategy but seems that the school admin has over associated with Facebook which I believe is not secure for our children. 

I also had bad memories in VDLA.  It was when we missed to provide one material for school activity for our daughter (I remember that was a kite).  My daughter was absent a couple of days because she was sick and the announcement of bringing the material was not communicated to us.  And since mahilig sila mag post sa FB (which this time advantage for me), I saw my daughter in the backgorund of one of the pictures na nakatunganga sa corner (that was on their rooftop area).  Sobrang awang-awa ako sa anak ko. So, I promptly sent a letter to the school admin na sana next time yung mga bata na walang materials eh wag nila pabayaang ma-left out at tumunganga lang sa tabi kase iba ang epekto non sa mga bata, psychologically and emotionally.

So for HEdCen with that situation, they really provide other activities just to let the kids enjoy the class. Saka they are conscious na it happens that both parents are working.

Now my daughter is in Grade 1 in AA. She really enjoy the campus and everyday to her is a happy experience.  AA nourishes the girls and trains them to be independent, not to depend always from Mommy or Daddy or think that yaya is always there for them.  She is just 6 years old but everytime there's a homework or thing to prepare for tomorrow, she used to do it without asking me. 

I also recommend OLPS.  My son is now on his 3rd grade there. Iba naman yung strategy nila.  Hindi ko ma-explain pero hindi talaga biro mga exams nila (monthly & quarterly).  Imagine! For 1st Grader they already have "Discrimination and Synthesis" types of exam! Naloka talaga kami ng Daddy niya, to the point na kinausap  pa namin yung Academic Coordinator. Heheh....  Pero in the end  nakita namin na maganda ang effect sa bata.  Kaya sobrang proud ako sa anak ko kapag he almost perfect the exam.

kumusta sila sa extra curricular activities sa school, anong klaseng math ang meron sila (singapore, traditional), science, etc. and kung sobrang dami din ba ng homeworks, projects

We’re new here in upper Antipolo, and looking for a school for my 3 kids - kinder, grade 2 and grade 7.  Aside from academics, I prefer a school that gives importance on advancement of character.  Any suggestions sisters?

PS:  I heard about Holy Spirit Integrated School and already visited their website, other options please…
