Pre-school/Gradeschool in Makati

Has anybody tried or enquirer sa KIDS sa calantas st or sa I Am & I Can sa banuyo st? kIDS is run by theaschers who graduated from UP FLCD daw. Semi-progressive daw ata sila. Tuition is about P60k daw ata. I am and I can naman, my friend sent her daughter there for 2 years in preparation for st scho. Pero I heard dumped that it had to close daw coz the main teacher/owner had to go on a mission.

my son studied in Kids in Day School. Very good teachers & they have a lot of field trips. After his stay in KIDS he passed all his big school entrance exams. He's now in Ateneo :-)

for those who are looking into sending their kids to appleseed montessori in salcedo village... a friend was very disappointed in them as after 2 years of being with them, her 6-yr old son is not ready for the big school. behaved nga yun kid as in marunong maglinis after himself but she found out that they only have reading sessions about 1x or 2x a month, same with math. so when it comes to readin, writing and math, di pa ready yun kid. sinabihan pa sya na kung gusto daw matuto sa math yun kid, i-enroll daw sa kumon. tuition at appleseed is about P130k so that's no joke. at that rate, i would expect that they would be teaching my kid something and not just be some sort of daycare.

Hi girltalkers,

Just want to ask your feedback on this. The 3 schools I am voting for my son eh yung mga near sa house. One of them is Integrated Montessori Center along Bayani Rd as posted by sis *jyn*. Yung is, montessori school din pero mejo bigger school than IMC. Last one yung TCMS. I saw their Facebook account and medyo na turn off ako. I dont know if its just me ha. This is the one my mom is suggesting and I just need a little of your time to look at their profile and tell me your feedback on this school (basing on their Facebook account) I know I should not base it from their FB account pero kasi... Can you take a look?

my 5yo daughter is Junior Casa 1 at Integrated Montessori Center along Bayani Rd... i really like this school... ang galing nila magturo sa bata... teachers are nice too..

JC1 tuition is at 47k...

then they have JC2 then Advance Casa which is their Prep...

they also have grade school which is inside AFPOVAI subdivision...

they have several campus... meron din sa guadalupe and california gardens, mandaluyong...

Sis paano yung mode of payment nila?

Mga ka-sis has anyone here tried early achievers learning center in n.garcia makati? Galing kasi ako dun last week and naimpress naman ako sa school. They gave me afolder which contains their brochure and everything they offer sa school nila. And naka-sked na 2 kids ko for diagnostic test sa wednesday. Feedback please.

Diyan din ako na turn off sis. I am visiting the school later kung totoo ang nasa website nila. Parang ang hambog ng dating. .. yan ang unang impression ko when I saw it.

sis natanong ko na ang annual tuition fee for IMC. Its 49, 691.00 WOW. Pupuntahan ko yung school tomorrow.

Sis stormy, I went there. Pero I cried lang. Kasi nag exam yung son ko if he's eligible for Grade 1 in Montessori but he's not. He's not a reader daw. Eh nakakapagbasa yung son ko pero word per word. Mataas siguro talaga standard ng IMC. Nakakahiya kasi the teacher told me infront of other parents. Sobrang nahihiya ako and I couldnt believe it na my son is not accepted. He's for pre-school pa lang daw. I tried to see if my son is indeed not good in reading so I tried the nearby Montessori school na much cheaper (30k). He wasn't accepted pa din. Frustrated ako that time. I didn't know who should I blame, if its me - kasi di ko natutukan anak ko, o yun previous school nya na school-schoolan lang. Iniisip ko baka he's not for a traditional school kasi the teacher who assessed him sa 2nd Montessori school na I asked, sabi sobrang hyperactive daw ng anak ko.

Before napansin ko hes really hyperactive and he doesn't have the patience to think and do well in exams, para bang gusto na nyang matapos lang agad pero he knows the answers. Pero I asked him while going home if he tried to think ba? He said yes, but I didnt know the answers Mom.

I dont know what I should do. Look for a school who will accept him? Have a tutorial class and try ot have the exam again in Montessori? or prep pa rin ba ang anak ko? Nafeel ko na nasayang ang ginastos ko sa previous school niya.

Sobrang sad ako.

Do you guys know any progressive schools around Makati/Taguig? Kahit QC papatulan ko na din kahit malayo. Parang he needs more attention from a teacher na dapat sobrang patient for my son.

^sis, try to check out other schools that may accept your son. if you really want him to study in that school, you can opt for a summer class then retake the exam. i can relate because so many years ago, i almost wasn't accepted to my old school. i was given a book to read and i found the words too difficult. i just stared at the book. nakakahiya on my part and most probably nahiya din mon ko kasi wala akong masabi. the school gave me a chance. my parents wanted me to study there so they agreed to make me attend summer classes. i did well in school after. before we enrolled there kasi, i spent more time playing and drawing. i didn't take reading seriously. i think that episode pushed me to do well in language and spelling. basta after, don't remind your son of what happened. i don't know if it's just me pero sobrang i feel bad pag naaalala ng mom ko yung day na yun and she would tell my brothers that it wasn't easy for me at first. kasi naman i wasn't able to read a single word from the book talaga.

Thanks so much. Well my son is only 6 years old. He did not see me cry that day kasi he was taking his exams. He's not taking his school seriously. Sobrang nafeel bad ako. Im going to look for another school pa din today and have him take a reading summer class din.

same age pa pala kami nung nangyari sa akin yan. don't worry, sis. he'll be able to learn at his own pace. ang naging prob din kasi that time, hindi maganda yung first school ko. enroll him na nga lang sa summer classes. he'll be okay. you'll be able to find a suitable school for him. i remember pa na people thought i was a slow learner na hindi naman talaga so i felt awful.

@kikayG, hanap pa tayo ng schools na pwede pasukan ng son mo. Another thing, 6 yo pa lang naman pala sya. Baka pwede wag muna mag grade 1. Kasi aside sa bihira ang schools na tumatanggap ng 6 yo sa grade 1, baka hindi pa talaga ready yun bata. Maganda siguro, yung preschool na makakatutok sa kanya para next year hindi siya mahirapan sa grade 1.

Hi! @kikaygimikera,I feel for you. I kow how it feels na maghanap ng school sa anak mo. One thing pag nakita mo na right School super thankful ka. For me, maganda naitulong ng KIDS or Kids in day School sa Calantas St., San Antonio Village Makati. Teacher Mina will be very welcome to talk to you parang friend. They know how Mom feels, they trat kids like their own, english speaking but not that strict magaling sila mag handle. Progrssive school sila. Walang bayad assesment nila mabilis lang. Honest sila na tumutulong, di ka nila papahiyain. Wag ka sa Q.C. baka ma stress kid mo sa biyahe. Maganda place tahimik di magulo walang traffic, you can choose umaga or pang hapon. Owner are sisters nag Masteral sa UP,. I entusted my one & only daughter nag Nursery sya doon well, kinder for her age but they say lateral Nursery. Maayos naman sya talks well, may tagalog pa din but can understand very well English & can read 3 letter words, she is 5 turning 6. Friendly apprach ko sa kid ko more encouragement less galit...malikot din parang hyper, mahirap pero kaya. wag ka mawalan ng hope. Gusto mo smahan pa kita sa KIDS...nakakamiss teachers pag alam mo na at home ka sa treatment nila. ( I'm not close sa mga teachers pero they care so much sa Kids kaya gusto ko sila)

maybe you can check out Summit School in the Fort area,and Everest school...these 2 schools are right next to each other behind the Victory Christian Fellowship building...

I went to check out both schools in preparation for when my little girl will go to big school...i first visited Everest school,their campus looks impressive and clean plus the fact that they only have around 150 students for the entire population...i was entertained well,and someone showed me around the school  and they even gave me an info packet,and a bar of chocolate with their own school wrapper to entice my daughter...They prefer that a child be around 6 yo or older when they enroll...since my daughter is only 3 yrs old and currently enrolled in a progressive pre-school nearby,i might consider this in the near future...some people say this school is comparable to Beacon school..kaya lang since bago pa lang sila,wala pa masyado track record...

In Summit naman,mabait din yung teachers who showed me around their school grounds...medyo homey ang dating ng school na to,and i think progressive din yung approach nila...they even have a small backyard where the kids can plant their own veggies or flowering plants.plus they have something like an animal petting station,with chicken,birds etc...
