It's very very hard to do that sis. When you pull out a child/student from a regular school to homeshool him/her it should be both an agreement on the person who will act as his/her coach (usually full-time parent who will teach the student) and the student her/himself.

There is usually a retaliation when regular schooled students were almost instantly pulled out from their regular school.  It makes them fee inadequate and most usually, cutting them off from their social life which are very much important to them especially for teens.

Kung elementary kid nga who were suddenly pulled out from school feels so rejected, how much more a 4th year teenager.

Might not be a better option.

Just my two cents' based on people/support group I get from my veteran co-homeschooling parents.  Usually, those who start early homeschooling their kids adapts well and even detests if they were put in a regular school.

^ the kid has to be pulled out from school sis. we checked other "good" schools but wala willing tumangap. so we thought of home schooling instead of enrolling her in a school that isn't so nice or should i say is not our option. just hope may home school program that would still work for her case.

Usually hindi talaga tumatanggap ng mga 4th year sa regular schools e. Try this homeschooling organizations, baka maka help.  Isama mo din siguro yung bata if there's an orientation.

^ thanksy sis... will forward the link to her dad. hirap na hirap na sila mag hanap ng school for her. kaya i thought of checking baka pwede home school nalang. sayang talaga. good school pa naman sana yung kid. sigh

aww... nakakainis naman.  sayang, minsan din kasi masyadong competition for good grades ang regular schools.  Nakakaawa ang mga bata, minsan school an whole day pero kulang pa din so even preschool in exclusive schools tutorial pa.

Kaya andaming tutorial centers.  I hope hindi mag give up ang bata and doubt about his/her competency.

Here's a very nice article of a teenager who is in homeschool baka it might be appealing sa student na sinasabi mo.  Just to encourage her and not make her feel na parang she's getting a bad education, because homeschooling is actually more mature way of learning and still getting excellent education.

^ sis, please enlighten me the difference naman between the 2. the kid now is asking to go to the States. Sabi ko sa dad nya try muna yung homeschooling... baka naman may tatangap. She's actually my step daughter but does not live with us. Naawa lang ako sa kid that's why i really want to help and is looking for other options. She's from a good school sana but she failed 3 subjects and she supposed to be incoming 4th year na. The school wants her to repeat a year or she moves to a different school to be 4th year. Sayang naman yung isang taon if mag repeat sya.

Homeschooling, yun yung talagang di papasok sa school and may magtuturo sa kanya sa house, its either the mother or tutor tapos hindi ka magrereport sa school..

Home study naman, naka-enroll ka sa isang school tapos bibigyan ka ng modules, after ng isang module magrereport ka sa school then you'll take an exam, parang achievement exam..

Yung pinsan ng hubby ko kasi graduate ng home study program sa Angelicum College sa qc.. Ang story naman nya ayaw nya pumasok sa regular school, nagkatrauma yata sa mga classmates nya basta isang araw ayaw na nya pumasok, kaya his parents decided to take him to home study na lang.
For me kasi, parang sayang naman yung isang taon pa kung ipasok mo sa ibang school.. Try mo na lang ask yung school baka macredit din lahat ng subjects nya then yung mga nabagsak na subjects na lang yung kukunin nya para makagraduate.

Sis, found this nung dumaan kami sa Southville International School.  It is a very good school.  They offer homeschool option:

At least the child is still in an International School.

...mas important for me is the curriculum and whether the homeschool curriculum is the best fit for the learning style of my child and of course if it is flexible enough for me for my family.

Madaming homeschool choices like Charlotte Mason, Sonlight, TMA and School of Tomorrow.

Sis, patanong sana. Among the choices you mentioned, how would you know kung alin dun yung magwo-work best sa bata?

Per year po ba order ng curriculum? Saka pwede po ba yun example this year we'll take up this curriculum, next year ibang homeschool curriculum naman? Para lang ma-try namin different styles. Advisable po ba yun? Kaso parang walang continuity.

katkat... the curriculum or where you enrol your child is the lesser of your concern, I think   it is a valid concern and the first thing i can recommend to you is to join the pinoyhomeschool yahoogroups so you can conduct a better research/get a better feel

you can also maybe try consulting with your choices/interviewing them

BUT

the success of homeschooling really lies in the family commitment... not just between the mom and child, but everyone involved (kasi hindi pwedeng mom lang ang involved)

homeschooling is more than education, it's a lifestyle that's generally based on Christian principles...

and I say this because you can homeschool without enrolling your child into any curriculum/school and just make your own (or follow one but still not enrolled in one)
