sis shopaholic18, in my case hindi na effective yung di pakikipag-communicate. sa ex-bf ko effective, but for this US army guy, hindi eh. but it's okay... moving on na ako... i have a feeling na okay na sila nung girl, as i've read in his wall sa facebook.

well, this is the hardest part but i hope makaya ko... :'(

^i'm so sorry sis, isipin mo nalang for the better yan, finally makakapag move on ka na, don't think too much, there is someone there for everyone, it may not work out the way you like it sa first time but who knows after niya mahanap mo na yung guy for you. goodluck and don't close your doors to possibilities.

I also got into this type of relationship. We almost got together when he was here until he moved back to US. Pareho kaming skeptical towards LDR but we both like each other so what I thought the best way to handle it is to drop expectation and continue building the friendship. So we never pursued relationship and not even talked about being together.

Seriously, we're almost a year na. We still have good communication. We talk about a lot of things. I guess if we got into LDR I guess it wouldn't end this long kasi there will be expectations to meet. At least this way walang expectation.

I don't know if he's currently dating but I never asked, and he also never asked me if I am dating. What we do instead is just talk about each other's day and talk about simple things. And avoided some real personal issues.

Honestly, I am still clinging in the hopes na baka siya na nga kasi we really go well together. It's just unfortunate that it's not yet the right time for us to be together ...  *haaaay*

STORY OF MY LIFE.  We became "best friends" pa nga eh. As in I'll ask him to make a long distance call to me everytime I'm down. Pero well, ang hirap talaga. Pero finally, I've moved on after 2 years. We're still friends.

Right now, I'm currently in a relationship, LDR din but this time my boyfriend is willing to go back to the Philippines to see me again. :) Babalik na sya next month. Almost 1 year na kami. Hihi.

asawa ko french canadian. gusto nila inaalagaan mo sarili mo like like exercise, watch what you eat, watch your weight. kasi sa kanila if you look after yourself you are more confident which is true naman. pero about sa pagbubuhat ng bag, asawa ko nagbubuhat ng bag ko lagi and kulay pink pa nga bag ko sya bumubuhat then one time i asked him kung di ba sya nahihiya na makita ng mga tao na may bag na dala na pink sabi nya what other people say about him doesnt bother him at all, and that hes confident about his sexuality.

I am currently in a relationship with a Polish guy whom I used to work with. I always tried to make conversations with him but he would only say yes or no or ok! So i stopped trying! And out of the blue, he came over my area and asked me out, right in front of the other people we work with! :) He's been in the US for 8 years but still has a Polish accent, which I think is really cute. A lot of people thought he's Russian or Israeli ( Jewish). I think he looks like Jesus Christ ( Catholic pictures of JC). :) And of course, like other Europeans, he is uncircumcised. And big! My body was sore for days after our first sexual encounter. He's very sweet but a bit of a mama's boy. Boo! We've only been together for 2 months though.

My husband is an American, been together for 4 years, a year being married. Share ko Lang mga pinagdaanan namin:
- we met in Dubai; I was based there for work, and he was consulted for a few days by his friend to troubleshoot the electrical prob of the burj al Arab. It was attraction at first sight sa airport. Most of our courtship happened online kasi he was flying out that day, and we were picking up a friend from the airport
-as soon as he landed in the US, he emailed me. From The time I received his email up until eight months later, we never logged off nor stopped talking (text, ym, phone calls) he racked up a phone bill of $800+ so we decided to just IM more instead (so if the guy is really interested with you, he will find a way to talk to you, kahit pa magtago sa toilet kasi bawal mag cp sa work)
-he is due to fly to Greece with his friends feb of 2009, he cancelled thatnflight and he booked another flight to the Philippines instead to see me when I go home for a vacation sometime in may of that year (if the guy is really serious about you, he will do everything to meet your folks, with genuine interest)
-on our second trip to the Philippines, he decided to marry me. No proposal, just gave me a ring. His reason: he's not giving me a chance to say no lol! (if the guy really wants you, he will not only say it, he will prove it)
-on our 2010 vacation, we got married
So IMO, it's not just about the guy's culture that couples should mind, the guy should also consider ours. It's a relationship after all, not a biz arrangement where the one who's got more into the deal is at a more advantage. Don't make excuses for the guy just because "he's not a Filipino eh". Same di Lang yan Na may mga loko din, may mga nagpapalusot why Hindi makatext or what. Why Hindi makabisita, etc. Sabi nga ng isang sis natin, a relationship with a foreigner is an adventure. It is also an adventure for them to date us. So meet halfway. Mas masaya yon. Sorry Kung napahaba, peace!

Well, I've dated pinoys and I've dated foreigners. I have to say that the relationship I'm in now is the best I've had thus far. We're both half pinoy. We have the same heritage. We both speak english, tagalog, french and german. It's weird and I never though I'd say this but it does matter that you have common ground. The more, the better. :)

i haven't posted in this thread for a long time but me and my boyfriend are getting married late this year. it's been a rough road leading to it but all i can say is that i am a lucky girl to have him, my friends and family like him because he is such a nice and charming guy who makes effort to be with my family and get to know them. they are even saying that i should be a nice girl and learn to adjust quickly to him after the wedding since we came from different cultures.

my american boyfriend doesn't like filipino food. ang kinakain lang niya ay lumpia. :-\ in fairness, he doesn't really like any ethnic cuisine at all. he's not big on soup and noodles and rice daw kasi. talagang american diet lang siya. he eats a lot of steak, chicken, fried stuff. bacon, eggs, tinapay. :(
we're in a domestic partnership at nahihirapan ako kasi i always have to cook something we can both eat. ayaw din niya spaghetti filipino style! he thinks the hotdog is weird.. huhuhu.. he likes my cooking naman but still ang hirap ng kasama na hindi mo man lang maaya kumain sa filipino restaurant.  :( :( :( minsan kasi namimiss ko rin kumain ng pagkaing pinoy at half of the fun of eating is enjoying your meal with someone.
