How much does a trip to Paris cost?

^Les Champs Elysees is in central Paris, yes. It's in the 8eme arrondissement. But it's not really the center of Paris strictly speaking. Though it is one of the good areas to stay at. Most of the tourist must-sees are concentrated on the inner arrondissements 1 to 8 so hotels located here are pretty expensive as compared to hotels located at the outer arrondissements 9-20.

@summer_princess even with the official French invitation/sponsorship letter (attestation d'accueil) that needs to be obtained from the local city hall - you still need to present your financial docs (bank certificate, payslips, ITR)

4 / 5 days in Paris. It depends on what kind of traveler you are and what you want to see. For me Versailles is not a must visit, I would have rather gone to other trips instead, e.g. Loire Valley, Mont St. Michel, Giverny, but since it's a Paris / France trip "basic" it really depends on you

Hi mga sis! I've just booked my hotel for 4 nights stay in Paris (March 30- April 03). I booked the Hotel Amiot through booking.com. It's very near the Gard du Nord station which will be very convenient for me since I'll be arriving in Paris via the Eurostar (from St. Pancras, London). It's in the 10th arrondisement but since it's very near the station I think okay naman.

As for my itinerary, I've allotted one whole day for Versailles. I'm still backreading and getting ideas for the posted itineraries here. I'm planning to take the Seine River Cruise din pala on my first day in Paris. Until what time at night would it be safe for a lone, girl traveller to be out in the streets of Paris?

^you can save more if you book an apartment since you'll be staying more than three nights which is the minimum stay in most apartments. You also get a taste of local culture by experiencing how Parisians live. Hubby and I will be staying in an apartment near the Montmartre this time. It's just 3 stops away from Gare du Nord. We got it cheaper than our last one since it is in the outer arrondissement. Way cheaper than what you're paying at Hotel Amiot.

If you'll be staying near the popular pedestrian places, it feels safer staying out at night since you have a lot of people both tourists and locals still out and about. The metro within these stops would also be busy. Security in numbers! Plus you get long daylight hours in March/April. It starts getting dark around 9PM pa! Siguro naman by that time pagod ka na sa kaiikot! Unless you plan to go bar hopping then I suggest you really stay near the pedestrian places or near the bars.

And as always, you just have to be extra aware of your surroundings. Heed the usual warnings given to solo travelers. Read up a lot on the places you want to go to, take special notes on the scams/tricks done to tourists. A lot of those have also been discussed here on this thread.

Question lang for those who've been to Paris:  would you prefer a nicer hotel, further away from city center; or a more expensive hotel close to city center, but the accommodations are not as nice?  We're choosing kasi between two hotels, one is in the 1st arr. and the other is in the 12th arr.   The price difference per person is not that much (about 20Euros more for the 1st arr. place per person per night), but the rooms in the 1st arr. hotel are smaller and the hotel is older.

Of the 6 in our group, 4 have already been to Paris.  I guess I should just ask.  The hotel in 12th arr. is literally a few steps away from a metro station though.

Our last night in Paris! Of the four days we were here, two days were raining. Good thing we always bring travel umbrellas kaya okay lang mamasyal but still a bit of a hassle. Namaximise ng husto our visite pass since panay metro kami when it was raining.

The apartment we got at the 9eme arrondissement was better than the last one we got at the 1ere arr. It was bigger (2 room apartment) and way cheaper. The metro stop was just a leisurely 5 minute walk away. While Sacre Coeur was a 10 minute walk away. Hubby and I enjoyed the neighborhood a lot. A few steps away was a boulangerie and cremerie. Carrefour was just around the corner. Lots of cafes too. We'll be renting this apartment again on our next visit.

Our apartment is literally a couple of minutes walk from Gare du Nord so its going to be very convenient to take the RER to the airport tomorrow.

Sana walang magsuicide. Last September someone did and we were almost late for our flight.

^hassle nga but carry na rin. We did our shopping yesterday since leaving na tonight. Later we'll deposit our bags sa bag lockers ng Gare du Nord (2 stops away from our apartment) so we can do some last minute shopping. Forecast today will be cloudy lang with 20% rain, sana wag na matuloy yung ulan. Hay!

Accurate kaya and budget costing for euro trip ni DreamEuro trip blog?

Based on our iti 23days with 3 cities around Eu1100-1300 only.
This is based raw on cheapest/average accommodation and 1x/day resto dine in

Let's see:

1,100-1,300 euros for 23 days = 47-56 euros per day.
Daily expense:
15-20 euros for the cheapest room in hostels (cheaper in some cities, more expensive in some). Breakfast may or may not be included here.
10-15 euros the dine in na set meal (can go up to 20-25, or up)
5-7 euros - two cheapo meals (1 slice ng pizza/sandwich na 2-5 euros)
10-15 euros - sightseeing and transportation around the city and intracity.
Shopping - Zero. Based on experience, easier said than done.

Possible? Yes. A bit tight though.
But is it your travel style?
Another sample computation is also reflected in the European Tours Thread 3. Although I think the scenario you presented there was free yung accommodation because you will be staying somewhere else?

I met some "hardcore backpackers" who spent 40-50 euros a day - including accommodation. Some really skip museums since di nila feel. They just spend time in other free tourist spoints.
