If you don't mind me asking, do you smoke? Because smoking also greatly contributes to depression.

@sis Prunella- keep holding on sis, you are smart, witty, and beautiful lady. Kaya natin ito, try to read "The Purpose Driven Life" it is a good book to read, it might help you :)

But, my family doctor gave me this herbal vitamins called 5-HTP, sabi niya it is a vitamins daw for the brain. Nag- research ako and nabasa ko na may side effect daw, but so far ok naman siya sakin, although i try not to take it everyday, ayoko rin kasi masanay dito.

Right now, I'm keeping myself occupied as much as i can. I'm back to school and taking short term courses. Finally, I decided to put myself into the gym (zumba and yoga) and so far I'm having a good time. I read books as well during my idle time. I'm trying my best to avoid and stay away to the people or non-sense things which can give me stress. And the most IMPORTANT one is have "FAITH" and TRUST "HIM". I'm back on track. I do the "PANATA" for 9 consecutive days and it always feels good having a silent moment with "HIM". You should try it mga sissies and hope this will help all of us.

PS: I have the copy of the "PANATA" Prayer. If you guys are interested, let me know. I can scan the copy and mail it to you guys. Have FAITH and DEDICATION.... :)

^ I would recommend "The Purpose Driven Life" as well. Read it when I was on college and it helped me a lot.

Sis, always keep your self busy, and know that you have friends and family that will support you all the way.

Try niyo Niacin 3,000 mg.
This is just vitamin B3 for the brain for those with mental health conditions like depression.

I feel for people who are currently in this situation.  My youngest brother I think has been in depression for the longest time, wala syang will to do anything for himself and his self esteem is so low.  It started when he heard a nasty comment from one of his teachers saying that he is this and that tapos kinompare sa amin ng isa ko pang brother.

Taon na ang binilang but we still can't do anything, I'm helpless coz I'm so far away. My Dad accompanied him to a Psychiatrist na nagprescribe ng mga gamot, ayaw naman niya inumin.

On suicide watch again.

Got rid of my dolls (I've collected and loved them for years).

Gave away my favorite clothes and shoes too.

I also have this urge to send small presents to people I'm fond of.

So yeah... things aren't going well. Nothing's working. I've tried every option possible.

hi sissies, just recently nagaattend ako ng worship worship thing kahit catholic ako only to realize na depressed parin pala ko. Pero i know in my heart catholic pa talaga ko. Hay...

siguro napipigilan din akong malugmok sa depression dahil may mga nakadepende sa akin. wala akong oras para maging malungkot. it will be selfish of me to have others suffer because i'm sad, when my body is whole and strong and able.

yun nga lang, sa taong depressed, all our lectures, support, and efforts may be in vain. minsan lalong nagwi-withdraw habang lalo mong kinukulit. we can only hope that he will wake up from his/her daze long enough to decide that enough is enough, and it's time to live.

I've filled up the major and minor criteria of pathological depression when I was still in grad school. I realized it only after one year and when those days were already over.

It was really lack of interest to do all basic things.  Good thing, it didn't include cleaning up in my case... but it does happen to some.

I skipped classes.  I skipped meals. I skipped chance to hang out with other people.  I skipped studying at home.  I skipped chance to talk to other people.  I skipped watching TV (which I really love doing at that time).  All I wanted was sleep the whole day and night.

The main problem was my environment.  I didn't want to attend med school at that time.  I was subconsciously wanting someone to pull me out of that situation because I can't do it myself.

I think the one that saved me was my own self.  I realized that I'm taking it too seriously. My parents really didn't care if I make it or not.  They just wanted me to try it and see for myself if it is for me.  And I did give it a chance.  And everything was normal again.  I don't know if it will work for others.  But I guess, in general, ourselves are the only ones we can rely on to get to a solution.

I experience short term depressions due to stress and fatigue sa school, most especially career confusion. But life goes on, if I am not happy with my current situation, i will keep finding what i want in life. Trial and error lang kasi yan. It's my hobby to laugh at my mistakes, people knew me to be a happy and bubbly person so hindi nagiging long term yung depression ko. I always put an effort to look good to feel good, it helps a lot.  Iba din ang impact ng positive vibes and happy aura, people will be drawn to you like a magnet. Kaya nga i will rest muna from school, think what i want in my life, exercise, read a book, travel, and enjoy life to the fullest. To girls here who experienced depression, nalulungkot ako mag back read eh, nakakalungkot mga binabasa ko...LEARN HOW TO LIVE A POSITIVE LIFE AND TO HAVE A POSITIVE MIND.

Is it pricey na magpaconsult sa psychiatrist?
