hugs for you sisses... sometimes acceptance that you need help is the start.
rebelheart - i know it is hard but you need to LET GO and LET GOD. it is difficult to see them everyday together and of course to deal with them because you lost 2 important people in your lives. just think of it that there are better plans for you that you might not have seen because you are pre-occupied with things or are contented with the setup before even if you are not sure where are you heading. talk to someone and pray and please dont leave grudges, it will only make you suffer. i know it is easy to say this but look at better side of things, love yourself more and do things that you have been wanting to do but you can't since you were in the pseudo-relationship.
rainbowmom - it is really hard to feel the "domino effect" of things simply because you accepted to take the risk. change is part of life and how we deal with it is what is important.
I recently read a story on the carrot, egg and coffee beans. a daughter was telling how she hated her life to her mom and her mom put 3 pots of boiling hot water and put carrot, egg and coffee beans on them. after few minutes, she put the carrot and egg on the plate and drained the coffee in a mug.
confused, the daughter asked the mother what she is doing
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently.
The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak.
The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.
The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.
Which are you? When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like
the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.
PS. I think I am still suffering depression but I need to help myself for the baby in my tummy and choose to be the coffee bean....
