We're scheduled for an appointment with dra. Carmina reyes, a pedia dentist at mydentist SM marikina. Naku pinatagal ko pa kasi yung teeth ng panganay ko. Sobrang napudpod na front teeth nya. Lagi kasi gusto nakasabit yung dede sa bibig

my kids pedia dentist is at tooth kingdom, sm north edsa. super ganda ng facilities nila. nung first visit ng youngest dau ko which is 1 yo at that time (btw she's 2yo na) hindi kami nahirapan sa kanya kasi maganda yung ambiance naaaliw siya sa mga toys, and napaka galing nung pedia dentist marunong talaga silang mang uto sa mga bata,. my dau had a cleaning and flouride for around P1300, up until now we visit her dentist every 6 mos

Nagpa-dental check-up kaming 3 ng kids ko kahapon.  Lahat kami cavity-free, yehey!  Naglagay lang ng sealant si Doc sa 2 teeth ni M2 kasi malalim daw ang groove.

^ Oo nga.  Since sa Makati ang company-accredited dentist namin, sinama ko pa ang mga kulit to work kahapon.  Hindi na muna kami sa pedia-dent nila kasi mas tipid dito dahil covered ang cleaning lang.  Wala naman visible sira, at yun nga, na-confirm naman na cavity-free pa din sila.  Yung sealant is mura lang charge sa akin (hindi na covered), P800.  Alam ko mahal iyan kapag sa pedia-dent.

Thankful ako at walang takot sa dentist ang mga kiddos ko.

Naku, ayokong tanungin kung magkano iyang kiddie brace na iyan haha.  May guarantee ba na maganda ang tubo kapag nag-t4k at hindi na kailangan ng braces in the future?  Kasi kung kakailanganin pa din ng braces for the permanent teeth, parang double ang gastos.

I disagree about braces agad. Usually the 2 front teeth at this age have a space in between & "tabingi" or what we call butterfly incisors. Part yan ng ugly duckling stage. I usually point this out to parents para di mag-alala since we don't need to do anything about it yet except to wait until the permanent canines to come out and hopefully close the gap and upright the incisors.

Sis, I have already consulted 3 pedia dents for my baby's ECC (4 front teeth) -- Dr Aida Salcedo, Dr Edwin Vismanos, Dr Caparas.

All suggest pulpectomy and crowning under conscious sedation. Among the three, I got most comfortable with Dr Salcedo. I tried persuading her to treat my baby without IM/IV sedation, because I am really really worried about the long-term effects of Ketamine. But she prefers to do the strip of crown via conscious sedation para daw one time treatment na lang.

I am losing hope in finding a pedia dentist who will agree with several sessions/sittings for oral rehab. I am okay with sedation using sedatives like Midazolam, and followed by local anesthetic. I am okay going back and forth to the clinic for treatments. I am okay to hear my baby crying and see him strapped on a board. The only thing I beg not to do is what they call "conscious sedation", which in reality is actually GA but on a lighter scale.

Do you know anybody who will be more patient in treating a 21 month old baby? TIA.

Hi sisses!! My son's pedia recommended na mag tingin kami sa pedia dentist coz parang may maputi na parts dun sa 2 front teeth ng son ko. Ganun na sya talaga nung tumubo eh, nung una yellowish then naging white na. My son has Intellicare, nakakatamad naman magpunta sa Intellicare building para humingi ng referral.

I'm not familiar with Dr. Aida Salcedo.

I understand that the dentist's work would be faster, easier, and better when patient is sedated. It gives great satisfaction to do a well done job, right?

That's just part of the reason why dentists do oral sedation. The main reason is for the child to have no memory of the "traumatic" procedure.

Put yourself in your child's shoes: would you rather have several occasions where your mouth is made to open wide for a long time to accomodate a procedure one at a time or just have one long procedure where everything is done and you would have no memory of it?

I appreciate the fact that you've taken time to read journals about sedation but you have to weigh the pros and cons. It's either you go with the conscious sedation or wait until your child is bigger and can accomodate having long yet multiple appointments.

Two of the dentists you've mentioned are seasoned pediatric dental practitioners. If they all think that conscious sedations is the only way to treat your child efficiently, then that's it. Please don't think that the dentists just want an easy or convenient way to treat your child.

Supposed they bend to your persuasion not to do conscious sedation at magka-complication sa procedure (i.e. child gets injured since biglang gumalaw while under Midazolam) -- sisihin nyo na incompetent ang dentist or they were negligent? That should not be the case--you were given the option of the BEST procedure they deem appropriate for your child but you opt otherwise.

It's your child who's getting treated---siya ang pinakamahihirapan sa gusto mong mangyari---hindi ikaw. Too bad he doesn't have a choice for now.

Meron po ba kayo marerecommend na pedia dentist in Makati or Taguig area? Preferably Intellicare accredited pero ok narin kahit hindi. Kelangan ko na ipa-check yung teeth ng son ko, we've never visited a pedia dentist, ang dami dami na nyang teeth, yung 2 front teeth pa discolored.

Hello mga sis

Share ko lang and hingi rin sana me ng feedback. Nagpatingin kasi ng teeth ko si baby (4years old) last Friday. She and hubby went to PDCP sa may Banaue. Ang tumingin daw sa baby ko is c Dr. Jasper Tago. Anyone who had tried him sa baby nila? How was he? I wasn't around that time kasi may deadline me sa work. Kaya si hubby muna. Pero ako yung tumawag at nagpa-sched sa PDCP nung Friday morning and luckily na accommodate nila si baby ko that afternoon.

Based sa findings ni Dr. Tago, kelangan daw i-sedate si baby ko (conscious sedation - IV) kasi may extractions na nagagawin. Dahil her molar are nabiyak and parang may sisibol ng permanent. Is it possible talaga for a 4 year old kid na tubuan agad ng permanent teeth sa molar at a very early age like my kid?

Naka-sched ang procedure na gagawin sa baby ko this Saturday morning under Dr. Jasper Tago.

Hope anyone here could enlighten me about conscious sedation (para matanggal din ang agam-agam ko about dito) and yung extraction na gagawin sa baby ko because of that tumutubo na permanent tooth sa molar niya at an early age ... is that really possible po?
