parang masyado pang maaga para gawin sa isang bata yun pati ang conscious sedation. kawawa naman ang bata pag ganun..... pag nasira ang teeth ng bata, natanggal, ang alam ko may panibagong teeth ulit na sisibol...
With all due respect, this is a common misconception regarding milk teeth. We tell parents na the milk teeth are equally important to permanent teeth.
Besides, baby root canal is not like the root canal for adults. Baby root canal can be done in just one appointment--this is better than removing the tooth.
Mahirap mag-explain pag hindi kaharap ang magulang---pero in a nutshell, pag maagang nabunot ang milk tooth, the permanent tooth can either erupt earlier or much later than usual. The result--sungki-sungki ang ngipin once the permanent teeth comes out.
Conscious sedation is done only if: the patient has extensive damage in most of his or her teeth. Hindi naman pwedeng sabay-sabayin bunutin at gawin ang ibang procedure sa ngipin. Kapag pinatagal naman ang period in between procedures, by that time baka magsakitan na yung mga ngipin---mas kawawa ang bata nun and mas traumatic for them.
The pediatric dentist---or any dentist can explain conscious sedation extensively prior to the procedure. Kailangan din may clearance from the pediatrician before the procedure.

Well, I was just what they and they can't do. Madami sa kin nagtatanong ng referrals and mostly hindi simpleng bunot or fillings lang for kids---we can do that. What I'm looking for are pediatric dental specialists (such as Dr. Hernandez, etc.) or GP with pediatric dentist training who can do and are willing to do certain procedures. Sayang naman if trained sila ng they aren't willing to do such procedures---e pano kung yun ang kailangan ng pasyente?
I know that dentist has a lot of fans here in GT---pero like what I said before, the ones recommending should state whether pediatric specialist ba or GP lang yung nirerekomenda nila. That matters kasi.
May I recommend ba kayo for my Little girl who is 6 y/o now? Medyo napudpod na yung 2 front teeth nya and almost gone na except dun sa root na nakakabit sa gums. I am worried na baka kailangan ng bunutin to make way sa permanent teeth na tutubo when she turns 7.
What would be your advice? Any pedia - dent that you can refer?

First things first: are you looking for a pediatric dentist specialist or pwede na GP with pediatric training?
From what you indicated, the problem can be addressed by a GP na OK maghandle ng kids or a GP with pedia dental training. If you're pertaining to the two front teeth in the middle---which ones: sa itaas or sa ibaba? Nevertheless, they are replaced by the permanent teeth by 6 years old. Better pa-xray mo yung ngipin para makita yung status nung patubong ngipin.
By this time, yung milk teeth na sira are most likely stubs na lang and baka nga gumagalaw na iyan. These teeth themselves make way for the erupting permanent teeth---the dentists don't need to remove them just to provide a way for the permanent teeth to come out.
Kung OK nga yung milk teeth na yan at walang sira, hinihintay na lang until umuga sila ang become loose. They are just extracted if sobrang sira na talaga yung ngipin.
What you can do is to check if umuuga na yung sirang ngipin ng anak mo. If yes, malapit na lumabas yung kapalit nyang teeth---then you can just have the decayed teeth extracted. Minsan if sobrang magalaw na or mababaw, no need for injection--kaya na ng topic anesthesia.
Let me know your location and your preference ng dentist na gagawa (babae, lalaki, specialist, GP with training, etc.) and I might be able to give recommendations.
By the way, if there are moms who have the time to accompany their children to multiple appointments and gusto makatipid sa pediatric dental procedures, you can try going to dental schools. Lahat ng kailangan ng bata na dental needs magagawa---even space maintainers---as long as they have the requirements needed by the dental students. Rest assured, the dental interns are supervised by qualified pediatric dental practitioners.
