Yup, siguro for the gay people offending naman na weak ang turing sa kanila pero ganun yung comparison talaga eh.. i have something personal to share. i have a cousin who committed suicide six years ago. and ever since that happened, every time i hear "suicide" being joked around, it pains me deeply, as in parang gusto ko na lang lumubog sa lupa kapag nakakarinig ako ng ganun.

kaya just thinking about yung mga taong may mahal sa buhay na rape victim (more so, yung mismong rape victims), paano kung marinig nila na basta-basta lang ginagawang biro yung topic na yun... napakasakit! it brings back painful memories. ako nga, hanggang ngayon, kahit six years na ang lumilipas, tuwing naririnig ko ang salitang "suicide", bumabalik lahat ng ala-ala ko sa masakit na yugto na yun ng buhay ng pamilya namin. so ganun din sa rape, tuwing maririnig ng victims and their families ang salitang "rape", babalik yung masasakit na ala-ala... tapos gagawin pa nilang katatawanan na ganun?!? UNACCEPTABLE.

fourever didnt like vice's reaction to tado's remarks as well. he was just doing his job. ayaw ba naman tantanan pahiyain on cam ang co-commentator. doesn't give him the right to, just because he's more popular now over tado? everything's getting into his head, he thinks he's already a primadonna

ultimong mga tiga channel 2 na broadcasters, reporters, hindi pabor sa ginawa ni vice kay js. nakikinig lagi tita ko sa am station and ang mga comments daw mismo ng mga tiga channel 2 e lumalabas na foul ginawa ni vice. so i don't think network war to connected.

I think VG should know his boundaries. Fine! His type of jokes really involves massive okrayan, but gang rape should not be a subject.
I also watched the episode where in Tado was a guest judge in Showtime. Grabe! super yabang sya at ayaw paawat.
Being laugh about by being fat is never acceptable more so when its being used on explicit material like rape.

JS has all the right to get offended. Di sa pagiging maarte or what, in the first place hinde sila close ni VG.
Kung ga*uhin man nya si Kris A. dun is okay, Kris was there and i believe they are friends.

Yung style ni VG is like the old days, during the days na hinde pa sya sikat. Fame gets into his head but not on his deeds.

NOW THAT Vice Ganda has apologized to GMA news anchor Jessica Soho over a bad joke which offended the latter’s sensibilities ay hindi pa rin maawat ang defenders ng una.

While many understood Jessica’s “rape is not a joke” stance ay meron namang nakapuna na meron din namang “rape jokes” na ipinalabas sa mismong network na pinagtatrabahuhan ni Jessica.

“Ms Jessica Soho was offended and Vice Ganda apologized. Tama yun. Pero yung sabihan pa si Vice na “Rape is not a joke”… Yun ang medyo mali. Two things: One, the joke was not intended for the rape victims. Two, before they hit & criticize other people, tignan naman nila yung bakod nila. Bubble Gang made “rape” jokes and videos are all over youtube. This is learning curve for both parties,” matapang na tweet ni katotong MJ Felipe.

We watched the said “rape” episode of Bubble Gang. It was a series of rape scenes pala na ginawang katatawanan ng gag show. There was even one scene na kunwari ay ipinagtanggol ng isang guy ang isang babae sa kanyang “rapist” pero ‘yu pala ay rereypin din siya nito.

Aware kaya si Jessica sa existence ng “rape episodes” ng Bubble Gang? Parang hindi.

Teka, hindi ba niya naamoy ‘yon considering na she’s working at the same network? Ano siya, natutulog sa pansitan?

We remember one episode of a show in GMA where they emphasized the “think before you click” reminder to the televiewers who are into social networking sites.

Siguro ay dapat ding i-practice ni Jessica ang “think before you speak” dahil tila hindi niya alam ang kanyang sinasabi about rape jokes.

Paano ngayon kung may magtanong sa kanya kung napanood na niya ang sinasabing “rape jokes” sa Bubble Gang, ano isasagot niya?

Now this is what I'm talking about, but I still disagree that rape jokes are okay dahil di naman rape victims ang pinapatamaan. Kahit di pa sila pinatatamaan, matatamaan pa rin sila because they experienced it at masakit yun para sa kanila. Dapat lang talaga na maging lesson ito, di lang for both networks, kundi sa lahat ng taong nagbibiro and crossing the line.

I also dont like it that kids nowadays are picking up Vice Ganda's sarcastic jokes. noon pa lang irita na ako sa "pag ____, ____agad, hindi ba pwedeng ____ muna". arrgh. pag nakakabasa ako nito sa facebook, naiirita ako. tapos minsan kids pa ang magsasabi. nakakainis. no different than jejemon, sorry.

and ang point pa, Vice Ganda is a very public image already and hindi lang naman adults ang fans niya, may mga fans siyang kids! so dapat maisip naman niya na maging mas responsible. oo, fine, walang kids na pumupunta sa comedy bars. pero in today's world, ang jokes niya sa comedy bars ay pwedeng makarating sa mga batang fans niya thru youtube or something. and actually, nabasa ko nga dito sa GT na may kids dun sa concert niya. oh my goodness, just thinking about the quality of the material used in the jokes, it's like trash is being fed to the kids!!

garbage in, garbage out! itaas naman nila ang quality ng material sa TV and other media, kundi puro basura ang nafi-feed sa next generations!

finally did. and no, you don't need to watch the entire show to know how horrible it is. it's one of the most idiotic things i've seen and heard in my life. can't even say "peace to fans" because i can't even begin to understand how that passes for comedy. i've been to clowns/klownz (?) once before and those guys were hilarious. sure, not sophisticated but certainly not stupid. certainly not vice ganda stupid. too bad for him too, though. i heard when he was starting out, he was kind of funny.

people keep comparing it to the US. i believe that if vice ganda is in the US, he will be out of a job now. in some ways, americans are far more sensitive than filipinos. it seems like everyday, a new word gets injected into the encyclopedia of politically incorrect terms. in the US you get these segments in society that are quick to take offense. that's precisely why i said that comics can not really think too much about offending people because these days, everyone gets offended by something. but what vice ganda just did-- that's guaranteed to elicit a general outcry. (then a defense. because these things go around in cycles lol.)

but i still stand by what i said that people should not suggest alternative targets for the joke. if you hate the joke/s, like one poster said, leave it at that.

I really like this intelligent, sensible and calm response of Monique Wilson to the VG Rape issue.

She validates what several of our members here have said - Public personalities should NEVER EVER trivialize the very sensitive and delicate subject of rape.

because people who make "rape" a laughing matter encourages the people's indifference to this horrible crime. parang gino-glorify pa ang rapists.

no amount of excuse justifies the crass joke that vice ganda did. no self respecting woman would allow herself a joke that makes her a lechong baboy na gina-gang rape. if you think you will allow a member of your family (mom or sis) to subject herself to such jokes, then i rest my case.

"joke nga eh" "comedy nga eh" does not apply here. hindi porke joke or hindi porke comic act, one should automatically accept it. in everything, there should be a line drawn. it's exactly why we call our society civilized.

and lastly, for all those people who are saying na these kinds of jokes are the "in" thing right now and that having enough decency and good morals is "out" already, shame on you.
