Yun curriculum nila is advance ah?! Ang hihirap ng lessons. English zone din dun.

At mabilis aksyonan ang problema if may issue regarding your kid. Like for me, naiwan ng service yun 6 years old kong anak. Aba syempre major worry ka na kaka antay sa house, I called the school na kung andun pa ba anak ko. Ayun nasa waiting area pa with guards na nag babantay sa kanya at hindi ka basta basta makakalabas kasi dapat may sundo with fetcher's id. At nag issue din ng bullentin paper for parents reg. School service evaluation.

Tuition fee: grade 3 annually 40k wala pa yun miscellaneous and all that.

Yes coed. La salle based din yun turo nila eh. Tapos pag minsan if the teachers observed that your kid is having a hard time in one subject may tutorial sila like mag nonote sa parents na your kid will have a special class on a certain day mga 30-45mins. Same as pag hindi nakapag quiz or long test. May consideration lalo na pag absent :)

And if ever naman na may accident sa school yun bata like my son plays rough nabali yun front tooth niya(good thing hindi natamaan yun nerve) and dinaganan daw siya classmate niya. Lahat ng gagastusin mo for check up irereimburse nila once na declare sa clinic that the accident happened within school's vicinity ah.

If big school ang pag-uusapan, ok pa ba ang St. Scho Marikina?

Hi ladies,

I want to know some feedback as well, if you have children enrolled in St Scholastica marikina???
I want to know if they are good in academics and students behavior, fluent in english  as well; I heard from some friends that students from St Scho. Marikina are very brand conscious which is why i want to verify.

Thank you

@1choi_ko9: Hi sis. I had a classmate in college na mommy na, she was just taking the necessary credits for Certificate in Teaching. Dun yung anak niya, and they promote English din kaya magaling yung bata, and tutok din kasi dun yung nanay kaya it was a good combination.

@pinkaholic21: Hi sis. St. Scho Marikina is good in terms of academics, they also give importance to behavior dahil nga madre nga ang may hawak doon. As for brand consciousness, can't be helped kasi most of the students are from well-to-do families kaya exposed sila sa ganun. If you decide to enroll your child/children there, tutok na lang din, yun naman talaga ang laban nating mommies sa mga ganyan. :)

Within Marikina, co-ed ba priority mo? You can try Infant Jesus Academy (IJA), maganda din ang turo dun.

@1choi_ko9: I'm familiar with Charis. Super lapit niya sa Infant Jesus Academy. My youngest sis-in-law and hubby's pamangkin studies there. Okay din naman pero more of a small school setting. Kung you're after well-rounded development ng children mo, baka mas prefer mo sa iba. OLOPSC, not so much din even if my husband and I were both OLOPSCians, hehe. Dun din ako nag-college for quite some time.  :)

@prettygretchen Yup, maganda nga ang Ingenium. If you have the budget you can go for it. Yung bunsong anak ng pedia ng kids namin dun nag-aaral, and I think yung pedia din namin ang uhh, doctor nila dun sa school. Sorry, di ko alam ang term, hehe. Pero pumupunta punta siya doon minsan (the pedia).

Mga sis, please help. Additioanl feedback naman with the following schools:

Morning Dew Montessori
Mother Goose Playskool
Montessori Integrated School (Antipolo)

How do you find their curriculum? Any bad experience? Kasi among these 3, MIS is the cheapest pero malayo naman. Mother Goose is really nice, pero I'm still weighing if the current tuition of 69k is "sulit" for a 5 year old. I believe they are accredited by the American Montessori Society. Morning Dew, I hardly read any feedback about it kaya I'm a little skeptical.

Please help naman.

St. Scholastica Marikina - From my experience, creating one's own "ideal" image is part of adolescence. Many highschool girls dream of owning atleast one branded thing if it means being part of a clique or for one's own egoistic needs.  Some may not speak of it, but they do. Some may easily brushed such things aside, achieving fulfillment by naming their schoolmate as "mayabang". Few disregard it deeming it unimportant. To answer the question, the school's been known for their 2 golden rules: simplicity and humility. You can only wear black, white, blue or brown hair accessories. Shoes can only be in plain black, no jewels. Still, kids tend to compare and show off from bags, sweaters (for some) to the littlest things like ballpens. I've seen this happen in other schools as well. Sadly, it's unescapable. As parents, all we can do is guide our children to that certain level of maturity and make them understand that they cannot judge and be judged by what they have. :)

ISYC Marikina - i've decided to enroll my daughter for various reasons. 1- they have a very ideal student-teacher ratio which is 5:1 for a progressive school. 2- They have wide open spaces inside and outside the classroom ideal for activities. (since progressive schools should be activity-based) 3- they practice differentiated activities. Meaning, kids are taught based on their own individual needs and level. No one is pressured or slowed down at a certain level during class sessions. 3- they promised to give weekly progress report 4- the school is not overpriced unlike other schools who priced the same inspite having limited facility and big student-teacher ratio. (71k includes materials, fieldtrip and 4 sets of uniform) 5- most teachers have a masters degree or either a masters candidate in childhood ed.

Miriam CSC or First Step- well, for 90k plus tuition, having such a fab facility is such an obvious. Downsides are 15:1 student ratio plus 1 teacher aid (First Step), 25-30 student:1 teacher, no teacher aid. They also don't focus much on the kids handwritting unlike Assumption (they have their own calligraphy style), lastly, some kids are nit even reading well enough at age 6.

Good-sides are: they offer plenty activities and students are very much knowledgeable. Almost all students have good english grammar at such a young age. Bullying is never tolerated. (they rarely happens anyway) Almost all teachers finished their master's degree from ateneo, up and miriam. They have a very ideal curriculum as they often integrate their subjects. Every subject, every class of every school day is well-thought of and well-planned. Lastly, every bit of expense is included in the TF: events, FTs, school play etc. No surprises.

Kids on Focus - 68k tuition includes 2 sets of uniform, daily snacks and materials. Fieldtrips and other
Activities not included.

Good-sides: They have cooking/baking classes every friday. They only have 3 classrooms with 10 students each which is not overwhelming for little kids. ( they only have am and pm classes which means they only have approx 60 students maximum) I loved the idea of having children eat the same food (to encourage eating in variety and also no "inggitan"). Also parents won't have to worry abt preparing baon. they have good materials for painting, pretend play and puzzles. All teachers are friendly and accomodating. Very homey environment.

Downside: classrooms are too small for a progressive type of school. 10:1 ratio plus 1 teacher aid is ok but movement inside the classroom is quite limited for the teacher and even for the students. Still manageable though.

I personally liked this school. It was one of my first 3 choices. It could be a good first school for my daughter since the school set up  is quite nice too. They have a cute wash area outside the classroom, and everything is just a step away. The classrooms although small felt cozy naman.

:) goodluck to us mommies... Pasukan na. :)
