ako im taking folart for many many years now. di pa din ako preggy. im not sure of the side effects.  siguro weight gain?  im planning to check the ones in healthy options...sana nga cheaper dun.

malapit na maubos folic acid yong natures way na brand, pero parang walang effect. hayz... may binigay ob ko folinc, tapoz pinalitan agad ng more plus suplement. ngayon ko pa e try..sana ok ito.

t has only been lately na narealize ko na may effect ang metformin sa folic acid. metformin causes a decrease in folic acid. i read it sa health today magazine..

purifol 5 mg naman reseta ng OB ko, hindi pa naman ako preggy pero nabanggit ko sa OB ko na nag stop na ako ng pills last month kaya niresetahan nya agad ako ng folic acid

kung yung purifol ay 5 mg, then may mabili akong 1000 mcg per tab na ibang brand so need ko uminom ng at least 5 pcs./day nung 1000 mcg

check ko kung san ako mas makakamura...ahihi

i started to take folic acid last  march 2010 that was the first time i visit a ob gyne but after that month i didnt take any meds for ttc then december 2010 came it and i took serious of taking meds because we are really ttc i went to a new ob and she gave me glucopage 1g and foralivit fe+fa (ferrous sulfate+ folic acid + vitamin B complex) nakaka suka sia so everytime na iinom ako nun either thru ice tea of just like a kid na kakain ng asukal kase even na lunok mo na after mga 5 minutes kapag burp ka or bigla nlang malalasahan at maamoy mo ang effect ng foralivit pero tiniis kolang kaya candy agad ako. napansin ko din everytime punta ako ng restroom to poop (sorry excuse my words) nagiging color nia black talaga una natakot ako un pla dahl daw sa iron un sabi ng sis in law ko na nurse.

  since december 2010 until last october 2011 when i found out i was preggy thru 4  preg test sa una plang ni stop ko ang foralivit ko at gloucopage ko kase natakot ako baka bawal na although siguro oct cycle ko na miss ako ng gamot ko na metformin at foralivit mga 3 times ata un then kanina nagpa check up na kao sa ob so resetahan nia ako ng folic acid ni ask nia ako kung hindi daw ba ako nagsusuka sa foralivit sabi ko grabeh doc pero tinitiis ko lang so pinalitan nia purong folic lang daw ata un pero parang hindi.. Folium FE (multivitamins + Folic Acid + Iron) Prosel ang mag gawa. although kaamoy sia ng foralivit walang after taste so far knina pa ako uminom eh.

now im in my 5 weeks, ok lang ba ang folic acid na may iron? may effect ba na nakamiss ako ng folic acid ko nung oct na hindi ko alam na mabubuntis na pla ako naun kase nov 5 ko nlangnalaman thru preg test. ni reseta ako ng ob ko for 7 days lang daw muna eh, help thanks mga sis

Hi! This is true!! When I was taking Metformin, my OB then prescribed Folicard B+.
Binabawasan kasi ng Metformin ang pag absorb ng Folic Acid. I took these during first trimester.

May nabili akong folic acid sa france a few months ago. Super liit lang na tablet and 5mg na. Mas mura pa compare mga folic acid dito. So far wala naman side effect like headache, etc..
Pero parang na dadamihan ako sa dosage na 5mg.

mga sis, question ko lang, ang pinakamababang dosage ba talaga ng folic acid is 5mg? kasi ang required lang per day is 400 micrograms di ba? eh pag i-convert kasi yung 5mg parang 5000 microgram na siya. di kaya ako ma-overdose nun pag i-take ko siya daily?

^ 1 microgram (mcg) = 0.001 milligrams.
1 milligram = 1000 micrograms (mcg)

so 400micrograms is .4milligrams

5mg talaga tine-take nyo mga sis?

this is the symbol of microgram "µg"... ang milligram naman is "mg"... they may have the same m(illi/icro)gram but their symbol is different and hindi rin sila equal dosage.

I take 800µg or .8mg a day of folic acid naman.

^yun nga sis eh. kasi nagtatanong ako sa mga drugstore ang sabi yung pinakamababa raw na dosage nila is 5mg. which is equivalent to 5000 micrograms way way higher than the daily requirement of 400 micrograms. san ba makakabili ng lesser than 5mg?

^Sis here in Dubai I saw two brands of folic acid na 400mcg lang talaga sya and super small yung tablet (it reminds me of antihistamine tabs that I was taking before for my allergies).  I bought the Puritan's Pride which is 250 tablets for only 39 dirhams (more or less 420 pesos).  If you have relatives here Sis pabili ka na lang kase exact dosage yung tablet.  Ito yung nireseta sa akin ng OB ko.
