pinagtake ako ng folic accid ng ob ko kasi im planning to get preggy...now its had benn 3 months since im taking it and di pa din kami makabuo...tillwhen kaya can i take it?....may side effects ba yun if taken too long? ...kasi nababasa kos a articles it shud be taken 3 months bfore ka magplan mapreggy eh pano yan lagpas nako 3 months

I think its not harmful naman i've been taking it for sometime before I got pregnant, as advised by my aunt dr. to just continue taking it.

ok lang naman [textspeak!] sis ako more than 7 mos ko na yan iniinom mukhang wala naman side effects, yun nga lang up to now hindi pa din ako preggy.

mine is Solgar folic acid 400mcg sa Healthy Options ko sya binibili, 384 pesos ata sya 100 tablets.

Can I take folic acid even if it's not advised by an OB? Over-the-counter meds ba ito or dapat may prescription? Plan na kasi namin ni hubby magka-baby. Eh kaso hindi pa ko makahanap ng okay na OB.

im not sure if folic acid is over the counter sa ibang drugstores like Mercury or Watsons, hindi ko pa na try bumili dun eh, pero sa Healthy Options pwede and my OB said mas mura sa HO kesa sa Mercury.  My OB also said basta gusto nyo na mag baby pwede na mag folic acid at least 3 months daw para ma-prepare nya ang body naten for pregnancy.

1x a day lang ang advise sken ng OB ko for folic acid, I also take Vitamin E and C saka Metformin 3x a day okay naman wala naman side effects.

sa umaga sabay sabay ko talaga iniinom lahat ng gamot ko, natitira na lang [textspeak!] metformin sa lunch and dinner, so far okay naman wala naman ako side effects na nararamdaman

ako im taking fortifer FA, it's  folic acid with iron and other vitamins which i just cant remmber now. this was the vitamins prescribed to me when I was preggy, i just wanna take it now in preparation if ever magconceive ako - not that we're trying, kasi im not taking pills anymore, so gusto ko healthy ako bago pa kami makabuo.

Just bought solgar folic 400mcg today at healthy options. May nakita ako dun na 800mcg, mas ok ba ang effect if itong 800mcg ang ite-take, or baka naman ma-overdose ako?
Meron ding Healthy Options na brand ng folic acid, and cheaper sya. Mas ok ba talaga ang Solgar compared to other brands?

^ My hubby and I took Healthy Option's 800mcg Folic Acid before. Ndi naman nakaka overdose..? TTC kasi kami nun e.. Pero now, preggy na kami. My hubby continues to take Folic Acid 800mcg GNC naman na now - good for cardiovascular and cell-growth kasi raw yun.

Pero nung preggy na ako, since I'm taking Metformin at that time, my OB told me to take Folicard B+ na, dahil nakaka lessen ng Folic Acid absorption ang Metformin.

folic acid is a vitamin, hindi sya meds to drink to get pregnant.

it actually helps in the brain development of your soon-to-come baby.  so it's just better if you can already kickstart it in your system once you're TTC already.

if you're not TTC naman, it also helps boost memory and other brain functions.

i've also been asked to take this since i am TTC, and when i got pregnant before, my OB said i should continue taking it lang kasi it's also for the baby.

^^ so pati pala si hubby need din magtake ng folic acid if TTC kami? Sana pala yung 800mcg na binili ko para mas effective.

yung friend ko and her husband-to-be, they were advised to take folic acid. pareho sila. apparently, the substance works for both female and male. kala ko dati, sa babae lang eh.

anyways, since ttc mode na rin ako, im going to try the Solgar folic acid or fortifer FA. sana kaya ng budget ko. hehe
