korek sis micos_mom!

yung MIL ko sugalero before kaya nalubos lahat ng pera nila and nung lumaki hubby ko di man lang nila napatapos ng pag aaral. Kaya from riches to rags talaga.

Nakakarelate ako dito-- though wala pa naman talagang extreme na nangyayari samen-- just got married dec.29,11--since both kme ni hubby nasa right age na we didnt ask permission from both families about getting married--we just talked to them in a resto and announce the upcoming wedding-at first gulat si MIL--while eating lumayo cia ng sit--then tinawag cia ni hubby--bumalik cia ulet malapit samen tapos after kumain bumaba na hindi man lang kinausap un family ko-- nagalit si hubby and tinawag nia si MIL sa lobby ng resto-- pro deadma hindi umakyat ang magaling kong MIL-pro infairness mabait si DIL and un mga titas ni hubby.

Simula palang yan mga sisies--madami pang misadventures with my MIL--

yung MIL ko parang di appropriate yung monster in law, wala na bang mas wagas na term? here's mine...10 years na kaming married ni hubby, unfortunately wala pa kaming baby.. my misery with Mil started mismo sa araw ng wedding namin.

While on reception, habang kachika ko yung isang highskul friend ko, lumapit ba naman ang Mil, eh kala ata nung videograher may something sweet na sasabihin sa akin si mil kaya kuntodo video, and know what? iniisa isa nya ituro yung mga visitors kung side ko daw yun? bakit daw ang dami? my gawd!gusto ata 10 lang kami! then, after nun, di ba sama na nila ako pauwi sa haws nila? i told her i need to go home for a while to get my things, which is near the venue lang naman.. di maipinta ang face ng bru.. di man lang sya pumasok ng haws namin para ipagpaalam ako sa parents ko. syempre we had so many visitors sa bahay and most of them from far places pa, so chika muna kami ni hubby ng konti, hay naku, panay ang beep ng sasakyan, na pinababalik na kami dun.. imbyerna pero di ko pinansin..

here is my story:

Nung magbf/gf kami di makabasag pinggan ang bait niya though there are times bigla umiinit ulo niya at a certain situation which is understandable and napapalakas boses niya na tipong kala mo naghahanap ng away.

Nung nagpakasal na kami ni hubby kasi we were to stay with her (kasi biyuda na rin kawawa naman daw). nagsimula na sa house the day we got married parang each day ang gloomy ng house or ng aura na para bang lagi siyang nagdadabog (dun ko naddrain or napapagod) never naging maaliwalas ang bahay unless she leave. laging ganun tinitiis ko lang minsan umiiyak na lang ko kasi parang nalungkot ko tapos parang feeling ko ang layo ng sarili kong family.

Tapos pag nagluluto ko aba nakakainsulto parang ayaw niyang tikman or kainin tapos sasabihin niyang di ko nagluluto para sa amin haller! pero pag siya ang nagluto kulang na lang isubo niya sayo lahat para ubusin. as in nung kukulitin ka niya til kunin mo ang inaalok niya or tatayo siya sa harap mo at naka pamewang til she sees to it na ubos lahat ( i experienced that when i gave birth).

This is the worst super duper plastic niya sa akin and to my side (my family / relatives/etc). bakit di na lang niya ako diretsahin kelangan pa niya sabihin kay hubby or kung sino man ang gusto niyang sumbungan. speaking recently an incident happened sa house ( na super kinasama ng loob ko) i need to defend my hubby over them (MIL & BIL) kasi sobra na sila ayaw ko man makialam pero masyado na ang ginagawa nila. nagpakumbaba na ako and said sorry to both pero siya mega sumbong sa mom ko just because she cant tell it right to my face lalo sumama loob ko kasi my mom believes her side of story (na siyempre nagpapaawa siya sa mom ko and meron pang mega cry haller MIL - sobrang plastic mo kaya sa mom tapos now siya sinusumbungan mo at ginawa mong kakampi. iniiwasan mo nga mom ko when she calls and you dont like my own family coming to our house hello they are visiting me and their apo not you so you have to live with that). sa totoo lang im not afraid of my mom im doing what is right kaya ako nagapologize and thats it bahala na sila sa buhay nila they will hear nothing from me or what.

and kung ano ano pa ang sinasabi niya about me and my family to others especially the maids. right now bahala siya sa buhay niya kasi wala naman akong ginagawa ang karma na ang bahala sa kanya at si Lord.

tsaka lahat na lang about me , my yayas and anything concerns me and my family lahat pinupuna niya na mali or di niya gusto.

most of the time she is wrong ayaw niyang aminin na tama kami ..gusto niya siya lagi masunod and tama. and masyadong gusto niya nasa kanya lahat ng attention and gusto niya binababy siya sorry na lang siya dati pumapayag pa ako na lagi niyang tinatawag si hubby na wala akong reklamo now di na siya masyado pinapansin and all umaarte siyang parang bata.

she is by far the worst MIL anyone could ever have!!! :-X

I posted this in another thread until I saw this one and decided to post it again :)

There can never be two queen bees in one hive but that said, in my experience (and that of my mother before me), the main problem with in-laws is rooted in money.  Most Filipinos have this culture of dependency and hardly any plan for retirement.  I have an aunt who thinks of her sons as "alkansyas."  This mentality is basically the parent thinking that their children owe them for having fed, clothed and educated them for the first 20 years (or more) of their lives.

They expect that their children should pay them back and most do.  Problems start when suddenly, their child who gives their monthly salary to them, falls in love, gets married and has a family of their own.  This equates to more responsibilities, but with the same amount of pay (for the most part).  Of course, they welcome the grandchildren, but I’ve noticed that people get cranky once they can’t spend as much as they used to.  Also, the attention of said children now lie elsewhere and moms can get jealous (I find this true especially for sons).

I once read an article in the newspaper that it is unfair for parents to burden their children even more considering they know firsthand how financially hard things are when one is starting out in life (unless you were born with a silver spoon and has a trust fund).

I agree with the article.  My parents do too and they were the first to tell me (since I was little) that children do not owe their parents anything because it was not their idea to be born in the first place.  It is the OBLIGATION of parents to feed, clothe and educate their child.  For my parents, it is nice if the children want to VOLUNTARILY contribute, but it should not be forced.

My parents aren't rich.  In fact, the first time my father was ever able to buy a car was after he retired from the Air Force after 25 years.  And do you know what kind of car he bought? A third-hand chop-chop van which conked out periodically. They even reminisce about the time they only had Php 100 between the two of them until the next pay day.  But despite all this, they made an effort to build their nest egg for retirement.  This meant still having a cassette player even when everyone else had the CD version (I had a classmate who once ridiculed me that our home "sound system" looked like a toy).

Now that my parents are both retired, they are reaping the benefits of their retirement plan and have yet to ask us for cash.  They even gave me back the monthly contributions I used to give them so that I could use it for my internship abroad (turns out my mother just stashed everything in a drawer).

And now that I am married, I have decided to follow in the footsteps of my parents and save up for retirement.  That way, we will not have to depend on our children for the groceries, medicine, the electricity and water bills, etc.

Many people tell me that there’s no room for savings due to large bills.  I’ve always believed that kung gusto, may paraan, kung ayaw, may dahilan. If people were told that they would get a huge sum of cash for free if they just did something for an X amount of time, they will find a way.

Di naman monster-in-law yung mother-in-law ko. There are just certain things we don't agree on, and given the fact na assertive ako, sometimes it causes friction.

After reading most of your posts, I feel lucky mabait MIL ko. She's soft-spoken and mahiyain (nakikita ko rin sarili ko sa kanya, baka kaya nagustuhan ako ng hubby ko... hehe) pero syempre di maiiwasan ang friction. I'm glad too that before we got married, my husband agreed na bumukod kagad kaso since laging wala si hubby, I stayed with MY mom. At least with my mom, sya ang reyna, prinsesa lang ako. Hahaha...  ;D

I agree with bluewinkle. I'm proud of my parents too (kahit na alam ko my mom is also possessive with her sons and maraming reklamo mga sis-in-law ko pero alam ko not about money). I'm an only girl in a brood of 6 and youngest pa. Imagine what my parents went through raising 5 boys (10 years older kasi yung last kuya ko before I was born) so hirap sila mag ipon pero nakapag ipon din sila for us and nagpundar sila ng mapagkakaitaan para may maiwan sila for us.

my mom in law looks after my firstborn son, not her choice but my father in law insisted on this arrangement. but amongst her 4 children she is treating my hubby & me differently.. & my hubby is privy about this but asked he asked to not mind her.. but its just unfair to my hubby that he gets treated this way.. i just don't get how a mother can be indifferent to one child.

i am a mom myself & i have a mother. if my mama has played favorites i never learned or felt it..
i don't know how to deal with her.. i mostly give her the cold shoulder when i can.. because when i feel weak & tired of her antics i just give her my cold killer eyes.. =)

i can live with the fact that she is cold towards me but when she is uncaring towards her son its a different matter all together. we live with my in laws as my hubby is the firstborn son.. my father in law will not have it any other way.. but we are targeting to move out next year. hopefully my hubby passes the Bar exams soon.

her acts that makes me tick:
1. calling everyone to dinner excluding me & my hubby
2. planning "family" stuff excluding me & hubby
3. getting our allowance from father in law.. she told me that she will put this away for the rainy days. but when my son got sick & hospitalized she did not even bring anything to the hospital & instead was expecting to be fed by me..
4. a week after giving birth thru CS she asked her son to fetch me from my parent's home to be brought to QC. i endured a 2 1/2 hour ride so she can see my son.. saying she was not comfortable in my parent's home
5. while eating pizza that i ordered, she got the box & started putting away the pizza for her absentee children
6. while eating at a chinese restaurant she asked us if we can put away food for her absentee children not considering that the food was yet to be served
7. we went home late one night only to find out that there was no food waiting for us.. mom in law forgot to put away food for us.. when she always remember  to do this for her other children
8. she would ask money from my hubby from my back.. too bad for her my hubby gets the money from me..
9. my son was having a fever & was red all over due to high fever, & when my son did not respond to his fever meds i decided to take him to the ER. my mom inlaw quipped "wag na sayang lang ang pera nyo.." my son was running a fever close to 40degrees & he was just about 6mos old that time..
10. my son's pedia is from st lukes & she keeps insisting that i transfer to Chinese Gen because they know a pedia from there.. she said "bakit sa St Lukes pa siya pa-check up eh mahal dun.." i want to tell her "bakit kaw ba magbabayad?"
11. my son was having diarrhea & fever 1 time & she failed to inform me because she thought i was busy at the office.
12. her lies & stories about my father in law.. she even asked me not to give my father in law stuff,, saying " sayang lang yan.. wag mo na siya pag-aksayahan ng pera"

sorry for the long post.. i am just frustrated over her..

hi all,

i need everyone's opinion on this. opinions from more people are better. gusto ko kasi masigurado na tama yung emotions ko, yung hindi ako nag-iinarte lang or nagiillusion. My husband and I are married for 3 years, we are living with his parents here in the province and we have a daughter who just turned 1 this April.

thank you!

crazycoolchic19 sis medyo i can relate to this.my mil stayed here for a week sa house namin and she was asking my husband what i do the whole day sa house.nakakainsulto lang diba.kasi nakita naman nya wala kaming maid, wala kaming yaya to take care of my son.  napakainsensitive lang na itatanong pa yun bagay na yun.wala ba siyang mata.just venting out.it was not my choice to be a sahm.but due to circumstances kinailangan ko mag sahm and un anak nya din ang reason kung baket sahm ako ngayon.
