^Based sa experience ko, the advantage of it is I was able to change my approach in life (lalim ba? hahaha). And it taught me how to stay calm during hard poses tapos in time, na-apply ko din sa life ko. And sa approach din sa pag-exercise. For example, stretching. if sa mga clubs, you stretch by reaching your toes and if it's hard, you think "Kaya mo yan! Parang eating food lang yan! madali yan! go go go!" but with yoga, they teach you to "empty your mind, pretend it's easy", and you don't do the "ugly faces" when it's hard.

Pero advice ko, know what your goal is. If goal mo lang is pumayat, join group exercises,  cardio etc, you don't have to pay a lot and do bikram yoga. Unless you want to change your lifestyle (calmer, more peaceful, etc etc), yoga can help you mentally and physically.

may taga pulse yoga ba dito? we're supposed to attend a beginners class. pagdating dun, kanya kanya mga tao sa mga poses nila. the instructor didn't bat an eyelash too when she saw us, parang hangin lang kami na dumaan. sobrang turn off. nagpa-refund nalang kami. tsk tsk.

maybe ashtanga yoga? diba kapag ashtanga parang you do the yoga poses in your own pace, and you can go in and out of the class anytime? pero nung hindi kayo pinansin, medyo mali ata yun...

Finally used my 1 free class for Heated Flow in Bliss Yoga. It was awesome! I followed my teacher and the group how they do the poses.  Maingay yung mga nakasabay ko pero I was glad that the teacher considered na may newbie sa class. It was challenging yet very calming. I really feel good paglabas ko.

I really want to go back. But I still have a membership in FF and I can't afford to have both. =(

I love yoga! it was like an answered prayer for me. Hindi ko kasi gusto yung mga mga exercises na maingay and mabilis. when I tried yoga, ayun.  I was  hooked! I usually do home practice (which is lately kc hindi ako mkapunda sa gym) when I don't have time to gym. I have one yoga mat and one yoga towel xD

Yoga destress me and has made me happier xD

i joined a gym for the yoga classes, not turning out to be such a good idea. usually malaki ang class so the personal approach is sorely missing. and for lack of a better term, it's sort of like a 'commercialized' form of yoga. i'd prefer sana somewhere that'll help me meditate, and where the instructors can correct me on my poses. hay. but i guess in the meantime, ok na din siya so i can familiarize myself with the poses.

wow found this thread! :) i've been wanting to enroll for a yoga class, ask ko lang po kung may alam kayo around qc... How much po ba usually? well hehe nabasa ko mga previous post, around 4k per month. one of the main reason why i can't bring myself to enroll yet, di pa kaya ng budget ko as of this moment, hehe baka po may alam kayo a bit cheaper pero good class naman... i really wanna do yoga... TIA!!  ;)

I'm asking this for my sis. pwede ba ang yoga sa mga nakapag-undergo ng scoliosis surgery?  she had the surgery more than 10 years ago pa, she can move about quite normally naman, but she does have a stainless steel rod inside.  hehe. she can do low-impact exercises.  is yoga "low-impact?"

Sa ff, merong mga yoga classes. I've tried their dynamic yoga. And i loved it! Ang hindi ko lang magawa ay yung head stand.

Although ang panget lang kasi, may mga schedules siya. Hindi everyday. :( Kaya madalang ko lang matimingan.

Sis my friend has scolio and she was not advised by her doctor to do yoga. But you should take note that her condition may be different with your sister. In the end, it's best to consult your doctor. If your given a go signal, inform your yoga instructor as well.

we're thinking yoga might be good because it helps develop core strength, right? masyadong ng matanda yung surgeon ni ate, retired na and we couldn't find him. :P  we have to go consult other experts in the field na.
