Anyone into biking/cycling?

Where can I buy a nice, reasonably-priced bike?

i'm into biking before.. too bad nga lang nanakaw yung bike ko

papa ko yung nagassemble ng bike ko, sa quiapo siya nagpa assemble.. not sure lang san dun exactly pero dun daw merong murang parts na magaganda.. ang alam ko better na mag assemble ka kesa bumili ka nung buong bike na.. but be sure na alam mo din kung anung tatak ng parts yung maganda and better kung may kasama ka din talaga na marunong mag assemble..

we used to bike dati sa macapagal, pero wala pa yung moa nung mga time na yun.. madaming biker dun pag sunday morning.. quezon city circle din madaming nagbbike.. dati we start at 4am papunta sa macapagal.. tapos dun ikot ikot na..

i listed down all the bikeshops that i recommend there.
hmmm.. i'm a mountainbiker.
not much on the trails though but i used to bike my way from our house in makati to San Mateo Rizal (Timberland Heights, Maarat) - last year, another trail opened sa Fort Bonifacio.. other than that, wala na akong alam na malapit na "padyakable"

may tips and trick din dyan on the how to's.
used to compete sa ladies division, last race ko was last April though.. too busy lately. now i bike my way to BoniHighStreet for a date with hubby, or bike my way to the races i join sa mga runs (like when i did KOTR and Memorace).
biking is fun girls.

how much ba ang isang decent bike?

feline, di ba nakakatakot mag bike sa kalsada? kasi naman dito sa Manila, di naman tatabi ang sasakyan sayo. gitgitin ka pa lalo.

never kasi talaga ako naging outdoor person. as in last month lang nung nag start ako mag jogging. dati rati, ayaw ko naaarawan. LOL!

yung dati sakin 10k yung complete set nung bike.. okay naman chaka magaan nadin talaga yung bike ko.. i tried nadin magbike sa may quezon ave. from welcome rotonda to quezon circle to UP.. turo kasi sakin ng papa ko sa gitna lang daw ako or sa may bandang left side.. tapos wag ko daw pansinin lahat ng bubusina sakin.. hehe! pag nasanay ka ng magbike sa kalsada di ka na matatakot at wala ka ng pakialam sa mga sasakyan..

^^ yup tama si sis nikx.. check out this link sis http://bicyclesafe.com/ ako yung bike ko, napaassemble ko ng mga 15K way back 2005.. since then, andami ng napalitan na parts sa kaka upgrade. hehe. pwede ding yung stock lang na bike na Yukon Giant, good to go na yun.
Manila ka pala, sa quiapo dami dun. I used to visit King's Bikeshop (look for jane if she's still there, and tell her Rissa of MTB babes said hi) nung madalas ako dun dati.

Anyway, thanks for the advice, guys.

Is there a place around QC where I can buy a nice bike just for village use? I don't really plan to like compete or go out of our village. Hehe. Quiapo is kinda far from my place. Hehe.

from Q.C ako sis. naku, mukang hindi ko pa kaya mag bike sa kalsada. hindi ako comfortable makipag sabayan with cars...

Been a bike commuter for the past three years now and I must say that it's easier than driving! And a lot more fun. I bike to work, to my best friend's house, to Ateneo, to the mall.

I use a trusty Avalanche GT given to me by my late aunt.

If I had my way I would collect bikes instead of cars. I am more partial to roadies than MTBs.

Right now I am putting together Stella, my Cannondale Six Feminine.

Dami lang gastusin ngayon kaya wala pa akong pambili ng bagong wheelset at gruppo.

biking to work rocks!! nga lang, sa case ko, from makati to alabang with MTB, madugo yung masikip na service road ng sucat / bicutan.. plus yung mga pasaway na jeep na nanggigitgit at nakikiapg karera pa minsan or worst, makikipagkilala! hay i've seen them all.

Isn't it such a hassle to bike to work since you'll be sweaty and all by then? Hehe. Just my opinion, though. But I agree that it's really environmental-friendly.

naexperience ko nadin yung gitgitin ako.. tapos bubusinahan at minsan sinigawan pa ko nung driver.. deadma lang

sila ang umiwas sakin at hindi ako ang iiwas sakanila.. i agree na biking is fun talaga! ang prob lang minsan is yung pag park ng bike.. i parked my bike somewhere na kala ko safe and may lock naman yung bike ko pero nanakaw padin

unlike sa other countries na may parking talaga ang mga bikes...

Not at all, as long as your office has a shower area. Before I became self-employed, I used to work in this company with a shower place. They were shocked to see a girl biking to work, but they eventually got used to it.

uhum..i just go a bit earlier para hindi weird yung paglabas ko sa shower area may mga nag wowork na..

yung parking ko, sa office parking na malapit sa guard namin kaya walang mag nanakaw.

takot ako magbike sa hi-way not because of the honks and sisitahin ka ng mga drivers.. Takot ako makaladkad ng sasakyan and may phobia ako sa mga trucks. kahit ilang wheel pa yung truck... hahaha

@gorgeouschef, hindi naman kailangan sa hiway mag-bike. Marami pong lugar na safe for biking.

@ella1152, hindi po bawal mag-bike tuwing maaga sa umaga or late in the afternoon hanggang gabi.

May nakasama akong biker na babae na balut na balut, almost literaly like suman. Obviously takot sa araw but she's enjoying it. And take note, kasama ko sya doon sa Manila to Baguio... padyak all the way yan!

... so what's really keeping you girls from biking? Time to enjoy na.
