MERGED: My dog is sick :( help!

super sad! we left our little boy sa vet for confinement... scheduled vaccination lang dapat at sabay check-up na din kasi nga he lost appetite. and yesterday napansin ko na orangish/yellowish yung pee nya. so kanina i told that to the vet. akala ko UTI lang kasi i read up on it din kahapon when i noticed it. kaya sobrang sad when the vet said na suspected hepa case...waaah!  he already had 2 shots of adenovirus vaccine! kaya hard to believe na baka may hepa sya.  senti mode tuloy kaming mag-asawa ngayon. hirap naman! kahit na 1 month pa lang sa amin today ang little boy namin eh love na love na namin sya. sana nga di hepa yun...
awang awa pa kami when we left na. tahol ng tahol while staring at us. 
help us pray for our puppy..

^vet said he's eating naman. and yesterday pa sya nakadextrose. he seems to be improving. ngayon pa lang sya natest ng SGPT,etc..sana nga not hepa..
..had truoble sleeping last night. alala sobra sa aming puppy..

our pitbull was tested highly positive for heartworm just earlier *cry* he was misdiagnosed by another vet as having ehrlichia. kaso hindi sya nagconduct ng test. he was just so damn sure our dog had ehrlichia. tapos when we took him earlier to another vet to have him confined (hindi nag-a-admit yung first vet sa clinic nya), mayibang suspicion yung vet there and tested him for two diseases. ambilis lumabas ng result na positive nga for heartworm, which usually takes 10 minutes daw to show. and it seems daw the parasites have migrated to his lungs kasi iba na daw yung ubo nya

it's really difficult to detect daw. walang signs talaga until malala na. pero if matakaw naman yung dog pero hindi tumataba, paghinalaan na daw.

right now, is the worst our Duke's health has been. but we're still praying that he survives the week and a half (wherein he's required to take medication for his infected blood) before he could finally be treated for heartworm.

yes po meron.  ask nyo po pinakamalapit na vet sa inyo. mga 1500 ata un good for 3 months

sis, bakit sa VIP, annual lang yung ginagawa sa pup ko?

baka may vaccines na shorter ang effect?

update: my dog is doing ok! she was treated for heartworm by her vet and last check-up nya, she is heartworm negative na.

Ang ginagawa ko na lang is to make sure na she takes her heartworm meds every month regularly.

Ngayon ko lang narinig na merong vaccine sa heartworm. Do they inject it to your dogs? Ang ginagamit ko kasi ay yung heartgard. parang gamot lang sya na kinakain nila once a month. mas mura yata kasi i buy them for $30 and they last for 6 months.

someone i know tried vetracin capsules for his mid-age dog (heartworm positive) somehow it worked. I dont know why he used vetracin( i thought sa pigs ito)

DOG DROOLING IN SLEEP

Normal ba for dogs to drool while asleep?  Suddenly nag drool daw dog ko tonight. I wasnt there to see it. Pero na wet daw yung floor with saliva. Tsk... Anyone who has experienced this???


Update: my dog is fine. Napasarap lang ata tulog. Naglakwatsa pala kasi that day. Hehe

^ no, he wont die naman. Its painful for the dog when you hit the nail's quick. Its a common injury maski done by a pro.

 Sa groomers they use styptic pen to stop the bleeding. At home you can make a paste out of flour or cornstarch and water. Apply using cotton buds and let dry.  If it wont stop bleeding, put another layer.

Next time trim the nails little by little. Di pwede yung isang clip lang lalo na if your dog have black nails. Try mo rin to use a flashlight para makita mo yung quick and avoid it.

Our dog was confined for 2 days kasi hindi kumakain at matamlay. Sabi ng vet positive sa heartworm. we were so sad! tapos sabi ng vet 8k daw yung cost ng treatment. gusto ko sana magpa-second opinion at kung ano ba talaga ang best treatment sa heartworm. yung isa naming dog ipapatest din namin baka meron din sya. nakaka-sad! and we want our babies to be treated the best way possible.

^ how young is your pup?

Suggestion sakin dati was to closely monitor the pup. Pag nag vomit, bloody stool or lbm, rush to the vet.

Pero syempre the best it to have the proper test done. Xray or ultra-sound ata.

Eta: observe mo rin sya. Pag naging matamlay or ayaw kumain, take him to the vet na.

Also, feed him a little more than usual. Wet food. Para dun kakapit yung mga bits and pieces ng bones... Then sa poop nya, look for bits of bones. You may need to use chopsticks or something. Para alam mo kung na-pass nya na yung buto.

hi.. cooked chicken bones ay masama sa dog coz its brittle. pede syang magkainternal hemorrhage.  imonitor mo n lang sya pwede rin naman nya madigest un agad.overnight wala na un possibleng tunaw na.
if its raw chicken bones ok lang.mas healthy pa nga.

accdg sa ate ko 6 mos. pa lang sya.. sabi ni mama hindi man lang daw ng choke yung puppy nong kinain.. kasi hinabol ng kapatid ko.. di na namin nakita yung buto.. tapos pag pasok ko papunta office matamlay na sya.. pano po kaya to?? within the day po ba dapat magsuka sya?? anlaki kasi talaga ng buto,, di ko alam kung malulusawan pa sya ... help me sis

^ kung biglang matamlay, bring to the vet immediately. Possible na may blockage. X-ray yan ng vet para makita saan ang problema. Dont wait.
