BRANDED ka ba?

Bought a generic cute shoes from Divi before, dumugo ang ankles koand nagka kalyo talaga ako.  Ill fitting din kasi.

Just for clarification, I'm referring to tiangges in 168 and greenhills that sells non-branded items mostly made from China, some from HK and Thailand. (They carry brands like Chin chun su, Korea, chorva etc. but we know in our everyday lingo, it's not the branded thing that we are pertaining to.)

I agree with you prisma, my feet are also choosy when it comes to shoes. The ones from Divisoria just won't do not just because they are not that sturdy, but also because the shoes seem to be made for those who have slimmer feet characteristic of most Chinese.
The same goes for clothes. I'm pear-shaped so even though I find some items that have nice cut and material, it simply won't do since most caters to those who have slim and lanky frames. I need some extra for the bumpers and the hips.
But again, I agree that not all "branded" items are durable, even high-end ones cannot escape their demise. It all boils down to knowing what fits us literally, what fits our lifestyle, and what is our priority.

What is considered branded ba?  Are these the LVs, the Hermes and the Pradas?  Coz I think it should be properly classified.  Not everything in tiangges are exactly non-branded either.   

Personally, I'm not really into branded stuffs, except for make-ups.  Even in these items I only go for "mid-range" brands like MAC and NARS.  Medyo "sawain" kasi ako so I don't really believe in the "go for the classics" mantra.  So I really can't make myself shell out that much money for anything related to fashion, which tends to change naman all the time.  Pwde pa siguro sa jewelries, that I can really say na investments.  Ayaw ko din ng madaming kapareho, so most of the time I go for lesser known brands that has quirkier stuffs.  Plus I can't imagine myself carrying the same bag for years! 

good point there sis. para sa akin naman, something is branded kapag established na talaga yung name and reputation ng brand.. like it has been there for quite some time na rin but never fails to be consistent with the quality of their products.

mahilig ako sa branded bags & make-up the most. clothes and shoes, i really don't care much, except for my running shoes. para sa akin, branded na yung bags from coach, Guess, lacoste, etc. branded na din yung MAC & NARS para sa akin. although these may only be mid-range to others, these are the kind of brands i can afford to the MAXIMUM.

yung mga tipong louis vuitton, chanel, hermes, prada, gucci.. well, i think they are LUXURY brands na talaga. siguro some sisses here when they say branded bags, eh they are referring to these kinds. obviously not me. hehe. i guess it also depends on what you can afford.

i guess what's expensive to me, may be cheap for you and vice versa. does that equate to saying what's branded for me, may not be branded for you? =)

hair care yes din i go for kerastase
bra i only go for wacoal and triumph because maganda fit its durable and it lasts
shoes yes din kasi yung feet ko mabilis magpaltos
bags yes din pero midrange din like lacoste, esprit,nine west,debenhams and even if its unbranded as long as its made of pure leather ok na ok sa akin.

Anyway, I splurge on my son's stuffs. Their clothes, shoes, toys, stroller, crib, basta anything for them.


For me, my husband is the one buying branded stuffs for me LV bag, ESQ watch, etc. The only particular items I buy that has to be branded are watches, beauty products and perfumes.

The rest kahit no brand at all is fine.

Clothes- no. basta maganda okay na. i usually go sa ukay though, mga branded pero sobrang mura.
Make up- YES. Maxfactor, maybelline and Essence are my brands.
Bags- Not really. Although my mom just bought me this AMAZING Chanel bag. not to mention a Dior pouch.
Shoes- Yes. I'm currently obsessed with boots.
Bra- Sakto lang. Gusto ko 'yung Gigi Amore, super cheap. haha
Perfume- YES. My mom just bought me 'yung Nina Ricci. it's heavenly!

I prefer the same brands lagi, like for sneakers, Nike lang talaga then for jeans, Levi's, for mobile phones, Nokia.  I don't look at other brands na for these items.  Sa bags and clothes, medyo may variety naman.

if it is to be branded..id go spend lots of bucks when it comes to skin care and anything for vanity(la prairie,la mer,helena rubinstein,perricone,estee lauder and the likes)for me its all worth it!...im a self confess vain teehee...with regards to other things i always believe that there may be people who can afford it,but only the very few can wear it...so there!

Not a brand person. The only brand I am sort of loyal to is Lacoste. And mainly dahil I grew up with my a Lacoste loving father.

Of course there are times I splurge for (at least for me) aspirational brands i.e. Burberry, S. Rossi but once in every ilang years lang haha.

Normally, no brands. I even go to ukays here and abroad (Japan has the best ukay ukay ever! maarte kasi mga Haponesa sa brands kaya pag nagflea flea market sila, gash kakaloka ang mga brands!)

I remember I bought a pair of black pumps in Namdaemun (Divisoria sa Seoul) back in 2005 for roughly 400 pesos lang. And by far eto ang pinakamatibay na working shoes ko. Nakaya nya ang everyday abuse for 3 years. So yep, I do not believe brands equate quality. If I have the money to buy without thinking, syempre who would not love Blahniks and Choos every day haha. But since middle class and practical lang, I go for good, unbranded buys most of the time.

Clothes & jeans: Anything will do basta comfortable and kasya sa akin.

Shoes: Prada, Lacoste, Nike, Tommy H, Bass, Dexter, Merrell, Naturalizer. Dupe and Ipanema for slippers. These brands never fail me kahit saan ko ipang-harabas.

Bags: Ck, D&B, Esprit, Benetton, Kenneth Cole, Liz C. These are the only bags that could withstand the heavy abubots inside.

Wallet: Nine West, Kenneth Cole, Esprit and Liz C.

Makeup: Drugstore brands lang like Mac, Lancome, Loreal, Maybelline, Shiseido, Revlon and Yves Rocher.

Gadgets: Hubby and I invest on branded. Both of us are heavy users and minsan lang kami nagpapalit ng gadget.

Watch: Kahit ano, basta cute and water proof. Swiss Military, Casio, Guess.

Undies: Kahit ano basta cotton panties. Wacoal, La Senza and Triumph for bras.

Hankies: Dito ako pinakamapili. I love Burberry, Fendi, Valentino, Pierre Cardin & Nina Ricci.

Naku noon hindi naman ako mahilig sa mga branded branded pero nung napunta ko rito sa dubai, ayun, umarte na ako. Pero particular lang naman ako sa makeup,watches and perfumes. Sa makeup, previously clinique loyalist ako, then I discovered dior, ngayon naman unti unti na akong nacoconvert sa chanel. Sa watches, noon masaya na ako sa fossil but i surprised myself when i bought a tag and now I am planning on buying a cartier. Sa perfumes, it will take a really really nice smelling perfume bago ako ma sway na magtry ng hindi chanel and hermes. sa bags, eto,medio naguumpisa na. Sa shoes, naku dito ako walang paki. Basta maganda gorabet lang! kahit na $15 lang yan carry lang. Though I have a Blahnik pero hindi yung tipong just so i can have a Blahnik, more on appreciation of design.

sa tops/bottoms/dresses, hindi ako choosy, any brand will do, basta maganda ang fit. ayoko rin masyado mag invest sa kanila kasi minsan ko lang nagagamit, madali kasi akong magsawa sa damit kaya panay ang bili

sa shoes and bags, yeah, brand-conscious ako, dun ako sa mga may reputation na matibay mapa local or imported

sa undergarment, may distributor kasi ng wacoal so yun, lagi siyang nagdadala at hindi naman ako maka tanggi hehe
