BRANDED ka ba?

hi sisses.. can't find a similar topic so i started one. i just want to know sino dito ang brand conscious talaga? what are the things that you really go for the brand and those that you just get away with the unbranded, cheaper alternatives?

i'll start..

clothes--i'd rather go for quantity without sacrificing quality. there are so much cheaper clothes na ok din ang fit and material. i just can't stomach buying a blouse worth 500 or more. =/ that's why i frequent department stores, bazaars/tiangges. i only go inside expensive boutiques when they're on SALE.

jeans--good quality and reasonably priced jeans lang. not too cheap, not too expensive.

bags--the one thing i really splurge on. i don't mind saving up for an expensive bag than settle with a cheaper one na poor ang quality and madaling masira. i love branded bags.

shoes-- rubber shoes? yes, branded. but when it comes to sandals.. it's a different thing. ok lang cheap and unbranded basta nice ang design and quality.

make-up--i also love branded make-up though sometimes it can really hurt my budget so i look for cheaper alternatives but still from a trusted brand name. mahirap na kahit ano nilalagay mo sa face, diba?

other things i'm really brand conscious with are watches and perfumes. other than that..ok na sa akin kahit ano.

sometimes when you go for brands..hindi naman sa pag-iinarte yun siguro. mas ok lang talaga ang quality and value for money. sometimes though, i must also admit, it's already a want.

Clothes- before, as in. pero ngayon, hindi na. i could do with tiangge clothing. in fact, i buy my clothes from tiangges most of the time. I love the fact that I always spot good finds in bazaars and tiangges. ukay, dati. but I was traumatized cos I developed a rash when I bought a dress. pinalabahan ko naman. after that, I seldom by in ukays, unless i really need a vintage or a unique piece of clothing. pero adik ako sa lacoste tees. I love collared shirts. I only have 8 and 3 lacoste. may dress din akong lacoste kasi love na love ko ang fit ng lacoste. sa plain tees, dorothy perkins.

jeans- I'm not really a fan of jeans. i always wear shorts. naiinitan kasi ako parati. but i do buy from so- so brands like the stores in hipstop, powerplant mall. I rarely find jeans that fit, except in branded stores. talagang sumasakto sakin. I have a pair from zara trf, which I don't use cos I've lost a lot of weight. so maybe that's why di ako mahilig sa jeans kasi sa branded lang sumasakto size ko.:p

bags- i'm not a bag fan but when I buy a bag, branded talaga. I used to buy bags in tiangges but I end up not using 'em. it's either I get tired of the style or they end up broken or murdered. :p So pag bumibili ako, may presyo na so I'll see to it that I'll be responsible in handling it. di ako maalaga eh so buying imported bags teaches me a thing or two about taking care of my stuff. i have two longchamp le pliage bags, a prada tessuto sport and an lv speed 25. ayun! alagang- alaga talaga! :p

make- ups: naku, ito na. I would really spend for this. It's my investment and at the same time, addiction. I used to use local brands but they don't have great quality eh. pili lang. dati maybelline masaya nako but now, since adik nako, yung maybelline naging chanel, guerlain, ysl, mac, bobbi brown, make up for ever, laura mercier at kryolan! di ko alam, basta i feel happy if i have a new make- up. :p

undies- i buy avon undies. matitibay eh. tsaka yung mga imported na factory rejects. okay naman. but i don't buy in tiangges. i used to use marks and spencers before kaso ambilis masira!

shoes- sorry, you might find me weird kaso di ako mahilig sa shoes. actually, may 3 havaianas lang ako (i was addicted to it before. i had 20 pairs then i sold 'em all off cos my addiction went away), 2 gladiator shoes, isang black shoes na pang- formal at isang closed- kitten heels na pang- character. hahaha. i need to invest na nga eh. i'd love to own a branded pair kaso di naman ako pala- heels eh. karaniwan kasi heels nagugustuhan ko. not so much a fan of closed shoes too. naiinitan ako.

perfumes- brand conscious. nababahuan ako sa local perfumes eh. sorry guys. :p

watches- dati nahilig ako pero ngayon, di na. i have 2 swatch watches at isang levi's. okay na yun!

earrings- i don't know if there's a thing such as branded earrings but I do buy most of the time from boutiques so you could pretty much assume that the ones I buy are quite pricey (usually 400php- 700php)

To conclude, semi -branded lang naman ako. siguro 70%. hehe.

I'm not a brand conscious person e.

sa pants - ok lang kahit branded or hindi. I only have 2 branded jeans, Zara and levis, tapos others tiangge na. Slacks ko sa bench kasi yun yung ok ang fit sakin.

Shirts / Blouse - Expenisve n siguro sakin Roxy and Zara., Tapos yung iba mostly Unica Ija tsaka bench.. Ewan ko ba ok fit sakin ng bench..

Shoes - I go for branded kasi ang dali makasira ng sapatis paa ko. Ayoko talaga bumili madalas ng shoes kasi sisirain lang sya ng paa ko LOL. Branded ako especially sa rubber shoes and office shoes (bandolino). I have 2 pairs of rubber shoes both nike and adidas.  Sa sandals usually parisian sa SM tsaka tiangge na din. Slippers ko, I don't have havs e.., Esprit and grendha lang padala lang kasi yan from Malaysia, dun kasi di ata uso havs.

Watches - Madami akong di-branded watches. Mura lang kasi tska stylish, pag mejo nag iba na kulay minsan ko na lang isuot. I only have 2 branded watches Swatch and Mango.

Make ups- dati avon lang, tapos maybelline, in2it, Mac and Body shop. Mura lang kasi yan sa Malaysia. Ok din sakin local brands like Ever bilena.

Tsaka I do most of my shopping sprees pag nasa Malaysia ako. Mura kasi dun, from cosmetics pati sa clothes..

Yan lang yung mga branded ko and the rest tiangge na.. hehe

I go for branded for quality although my closet is a mix and mash of branded and non branded items, same goes for accessories including skincare and makeup. Health, beauty and wellness is something I really spend on.

I used to buy from SM kaya lang the quality was so poor. It was quite stylish naman but ilang laba lang kupas na or threadbare na compared to dun sa items na nabili ko na branded, 4 years na and still looks good as new. Same treatment lang naman with regards to washing. 1 branded shirt is equals to 5 shirts na non branded.

Don't get me wrong though, may mga non branded items na maganda din naman ang quality and hurray for that sana dumami sila

tops/blouses/dresses - ok ako kahit saan, wala akong pinipiling brand basta magustuhan ko

jeans - jag or bunny or colours kasi ang kasundo ng balakang at butt ko so ito ang mga jeans ko

shoes - pag closed shoes, formal at matagalang gamit, sa branded ako. Rubber shoes, nike or addidas kasi nag-ggym at nagbabadminton ako. Pero kung mga sandals lang, kahit ano pwede sa akin

bags - kahit ano lang. Pero nag-iipon ako para sa isang branded na bag

perfume - branded din

watch - 2 lang meron ako...isang 'toy' watch - odm at ladies watch - seiko 5

makeup - di ko hilig kung may magustuhan ako, ok na ako sa ever bilena

clothes - depende. sometimes oo, sometimes hindi. basta ok tela and style/design, branded man o hindi, i'll buy..

jeans - branded, because of the quality. but i love levis, jag, lee, lee pipes, von dutch, miss sixty. fit perfectly sa kin, especially malaki balakang ko.

bags - branded. i don't buy unbranded ones. mainly because pag nag-bag ako, dala ko buong room ko.  . i mean, madami talaga akong dala, kaya dapat matibay.. LV, gucci, marc jacobs, miu miu, agnes b, coach.

shoes - rubber shoes is nike,adidas and converse; formal branded; office shoes dapat branded like le saunda, nine west, bcbg, mocca, jimmy choo, janilyn, vnc, charles & keith.. pero yung tipong everyday use lang naman, kahit anong brand basta type ko. para kahit malaspag kakagamit araw-araw ok lang, here in hk, i always buy sa mga shoe boutique lang na mura, though i have tory burch flats pero bihira ko gamitin, sayang. lol! tsinelas, havs lang kasi comfy saka matagal mapudpod.

make-ups - branded. shiseido, mac, nars, shu, laura mercier, paul & joe, benefit, dior, stila - these are my brands.

skin care - branded. clinique, shiseido and skin food lang gamit ko. masarap bumili ng branded, andaming give-aways, kaya sulit dfin yung gastos. nabawi din sa dami ng give-aways. also body shop and cyleina - i so love it!

perfume - branded. pero yung colognes ko na pag nasa house lang, i like herbench the most. gucci, escada, chanel, moschino, lacoste, burberry, marc jacobs, bvlgari.

watch - branded. guess, rolex, philip stein, swatch. pero i have this bossini watch na binigay ng cousin ko na super like ko yung style.

underwear - branded. like i said, malaki balakang ko. saka para my sizes. especially sa bra, dapat6 talaga splurge tayo dito. i prefer marks & spencer wand herbench when it comes to undies. bra naman, triumph and wacoal lang. pero pambahay na bra (without underwire) i love avon.

90% branded ako. dati mga 40% lang. pero napansin ko, if i'll sum it up, why not go sa branded na lang. kahit ayoko na, i can always give sa sisters ko and ok pa and matagal pa pwedeng gamitin. or i can save it for my future daughter since fashion naman, umuulit lang after some years. i've learned that sa brother and husband ko.

plus, i'm more of a quantity girl, most of the time. it bores me to death, thinking that all i have to do to look good or be fashionable is to buy "classic" pieces. saka i do not get people who ruin their clothes after a few washes. the stuff i bought from tiangges and 168 and tutuban lasted me YEARS and i was never particularly careful with them. so the argument that they're no good because they're cheap just doesn't fly with me.

Clothes - not really. I also buy in tiangges basta ok yung material. Pero most of my clothes are branded.

Pants - Masaya na ko sa bench. Ito rin kasi kasundo ng frame ko, pati length saktong-sakto.

Bags - puro branded. Not really sa pag-iinarte na gusto ko lang ng branded, pero ok talaga material ng branded na bags, as in tumatagal.

Perfume - ang binibili ko lang na local is Bench cologne (yung may yellow, pink and blue variant)

i'm very particular with quality when it comes to clothes, bags and shoes especially!  from my experience, the branded ones are those, almost always, with superior quality.  so yes, i am brand conscious.

i'm not brand-conscious anymore when it comes to clothes. i was back in high school and college but now no more. now i really look for value for money. pag mga classic pieces like a white button-down shirt, which i have lots of, i can splurge a bit (a bit lang like maybe not over 2000 for a really nice piece. hindi ko pa ma-justiry something more expensive than that) because they will last me a long time and they're really staples in my wardrobe. i'm not really particular with the brand. basta nice the fit and tela and the seams look ok, ok na. for mga trendy pieces, i normally go for local brands lang, sometimes brandless pa.

bags - i've only recently gotten into bags. i had a few branded stuff na before but they were given to me as gifts. last year lang ako nag start to invest on my own.

shoes - this is an entirely different matter for me. i don't care how much they cost. if i like them and they fit me well and if they're comfy and they won't kill my pinky toes, i buy. this means the shoes i own are of a wide price range from as cheap as P399 SM parisian flats to as expensive as P20k+ ferragamo pumps (CL pumps soon, i hope). but most of my everday office and casual shoes are nine west and melissa.

for shoes, i can say that the expensive ones really are matibay. i had my first pair of ferragamos in high school and in college, i had a few na plus some bally and cole haan. hindi nasira yang mga yan, nalakihan ko lang kaya pinamigay ko na recently kasi hindi naman liliit ulit ang mga paa ko.

watch - i only have one and it is branded.

Not that brand conscious too! Namimili na lang ako ng mga things na talagang nagssplurge ako on buying.. Like for example:

Pants: ok lang sa akin kung branded or hindi..

Shirts/Blouses: pag yung mga classics, i try to buy the branded ones kase they never go out of style.. But if I have to buy lang yung mga damit na dahil uso, i try to buy sa tiangge kase mura lang and hindi ka manghihinayang pag out of style na..

Shoes/Sandals: whether that be rubber shoes, flat shoes or even the high-heeled, yan branded din yan..kase for sure subok na tibay nung mga binibili ko.. pero pag mga sandals na pangharabas lang, eh sa tiangge din ako bumibili..

Bras/Undies: branded binibili ko..  pag undies, kahit sa baclaran bumibili ako kase minsan hindi ko talaga pinapatagal yung sets ng undies ko.. minsan every 3 months or 6, palit na ulit ng set..

Bags: eto madalas sa tiangge na lang din ako bumibili kase sobrang harabas ako gumamit ng bag.. i admit dalawa na yung nabili kong fakes.. pero maganda naman at hindi mukhang hindi original...hahaha! (note: di ko sya binili para lang magyabang ha..talagang nagandahan lang ako sa kanila)..

Watches/Jewelries: eto nag-iinvest ako dito kaya kahit mahal, buy pa rin...

yan pa lang naisip ko..update na lang pag may naisip pa ko..

Clothes - For classic pieces, I splurge. Sometimes din, kahit hindi classic piece, basta gustong gusto ko and reasonable yung price, buy pa din ako.

Bags- I rarely buy bags. My aunts in Japan and USA, usually sends me a lot.

Shoes - For everyday wear, I buy sturdy pieces. Pero yung cutie thong pieces, sa tiangge lang ako buy

Accessories, Jewelry and Watches: I but cheap ones.  Most of my expensive pieces are gifts

True, yung nabili ko sa Tutuban mas matibay pa at nag last compared sa nabili ko sa SM. Have you tried the latest clothes from SM? Horrible worksmanship.
