^ My previous derma at Aesthetic Science clinic too. The routine she gave me before req'd that I mix tretinoin with a moisturizer 50-50.

I read that study on AHA too pero very early pa. Another study is a particular peptide that gives you the effect of a retinoid. Pero very early pa yung study and hindi alam kung ilang percentage sya dapat as an active for it to work.

Im a fan of Michelle Phan and lagi ko binabantayan ang youtube channel nya. :)
Isa sa fave video ko yung night time skin care nya and I have been trying to follow her advice, using products na hiyang sa akin, and talagang effective. marami nagsasabi naging better daw skin ko sa face. I use Ponds age miracle line and Mary Kay miracle set and microdermabrasion set. inaalternate ko every 2 months :D

sa mga Japanese at Korean they don't use tretinoin as their secret weapon in anti aging, they rely on vitamin C L ascorbic 12% to 20 % serum. Hyaluronic acid, and seaweed. kc studies show that vitamin C with percentage serum and Hyaluronic acid can boots the collagen formation of the skin, seaweed as the skin protectant and mineral. and they don't like products na merong mga skin peeling ayaw nila yun..most of the products na may whitening nila is the combination of seaweed, vitamin C , hyaluronic acid, and arbutin, AHA yan ang mga products ng mga whitening nila...and it works talaga lalo na yung mag vitamin C serum na L ascorbic na 12% maganda talaga sya .

may I add..one more thing tips nila : Japanese and Korean DON'T USE SOAP sa face. they have tons of tons different products na facial wash , cleansing oil, etc..kc it strip the natural oil on there face, they also use facial mask every other day or everyday yung iba.. para matangal talaga yung mga clog pores nila, they hardly use facial scrubs, once a week lang ata mero mask minsan yung makikinis everyday talaga nila ginagawa yun .yung AHA whitening mask. na nabibili sa mga japanese stores na.

i started using sunscreen and moisturizer when i was 23 years old and i regretted it. i should start early.  :)

here is my daily regimen for the past 2.5 years:
AM (fall/winter): Olay Regenerist regenerating cream cleanser & Olay Regenerist superstructure cream SPF 25
AM (spring/summer): Olay Regenerist regenerating cream cleanser & RoC Soleil Protexion SPF 60 spray lotion or La Roche-Posay SPF 60 sunscreen.

PM (all-season): Olay Regenerist Regenerating Cream Cleanser, RoC Retin-Ox Wrinkle Correxion Night Cream and Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.

i have already been using RoC Retin-Ox Wrinkle Correxion Night Cream and Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion when i stumbled with this article one night so i think i am on the right track...  ;)

I'm not too keen on Korean and Japanese products yet. Maybe soon.

For now, I'll be sticking to tretinoin.

Iba din talaga yung skin nila. They're born with it and many of them don't have the need to use tretinoin.

mga sis..not all japanese and korean have perfect skin..para din silang mga gaya natin na sa Pilipino meron ding may pimples, blemishes at meron din naman wala..they just rely on skin care..yup totoo yun na madalang sa kanila at sa mga skin products nila madalang ang retinol at kojic . popular skin ingredients nia ay mag seaweed, vitamin C, hyaluronic, peptide, collagen, glycolic, arbutin, at mineral...wala pong products mga sis na magkakasama po ang mga yan..kc po depende po kc sa combination ..the SA told me na like she said..if you use Vit. C serum na medyo concentrated you don't have to use arbutin kc pareho lang naman silang nagpapa renew ng cell para amaging whiten ang skin..also kapag meron nang seaweed concentration di mona need gumamit ng mataas na hyaluronic concentration acid kc pareho sila na ng function. also korean products most common expensive ingredients ay yung may concentration na apple, peptide at collagen.

sis may i ask where you read about it? kasi i really wanted to try Roc, but i opted to bu NeoStrata instead, pareho lang naman yata sila ng price. i'll try this next, hopefully mahiyang ako.

i've read this article too, not sure lang if this is the same study that sis rae posted before:
http://www.wrinkle-remover-cream.com/roc-cream.html

i've been using RoC Retin-Ox Wrinkle Correxion Night Cream for the past 2 years and i love this RoC product. i want to try Kinerase Photofacials night moisturizer next time because it has Matryxl 3000. unfortunately, Sephora and Shoppers Drug Mart no longer carry this product so i need to contact Kinerase customer service to inquire for online orders.

I have to agree. This is mostly genetics. May studies on how different races age and for most Asians, which generally refers to the Chinese, Japanese and Koreans, etc., their skins are more susceptible to form dark spots than wrinkles as they age, while Caucasians naman, tend to wrinkle. So yes, it's more practical for "Asians" to use products that lighten or prevent spots, while caucasians naman benefit more from anti-wrinkle products. Filipinos naman kasi are a mix of different races so whether we like it or not we're either susceptible to both or one or the other.

So, in the end, you just have to use products that will address your concerns. And in any case, I dont think that all Koreans and Japanese use the same products, I have Japanese friends in Japan who request pabili of eskinol pa nga eh, and Korean friends who prefer to use western brands. Mahirap to generalize with skincare kasi we're all different and those with great skins either are just luckily born with it, or have found regimens that truly benefit them.

Oh my goodness! I'm so stressed right now and worried. Kanina while checking myself in the mirror nagulantang ako! I have lines na sa below nose. Yung parang hallows dun. Grabe :( I'm only 21 and I take care of my skin naman ng sobra :( I think mali talaga na hindi ako naka sunblock! May mga spots narin ako na maliliit na black. :( Huhu. Any suggestions sis para sa maganda retinol cream? And good moisturizer narin. I'm getting tamad na kasi recently. Nilalagay ko nalang is Aloe Vera, minsan SBO, minsan eyecream. :( And good sunblock sis? Available here and Avene, RoC, Neutrogena, Sephora, etc.

Sis plumpista: Try mo yung product ng Kiehl's na Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate. Buti pa jan, mas affordable yung Kiehl's products unlike dito sa Pinas. Overpriced talaga.  :-\

^^i'm currently using RoC Retinol Wrinkle Correxion Night Cream. in fact, i'm using this for straight 3 years. sa sobrang hiyang ko sa product na ito ayoko nang mag-try ng iba pang anti-aging products.  :)

my recommendations for good sunscreens are RoC Minesol Sun Spray SPF 60 and/or La Roche Posay SPF60. these are both photostable and provide broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection.
