For travel, get the GPT or Garden party tote instead. Evelyn doesn't care much and is narrow. Birkin is heavy for travelling unless you get a 30cm.

Q please, if I order a Birkin with specified leather/color/hardware and will be placed on the waitlist for 2-3 years time. Is there an assurance I will get what I ordered? Or should I just take my chances whatever will be available that time? How does one increase the chances of getting what one prefers?

I would prefer to buy in Paris as it is much cheaper. Do I have to go to their store personally to place my order? Or can I ask someone to do it for me? Then ako na mag-pick up.

^yes you can order a specific color, hardware, leather. place your order at the hermes boutique near you =) ask the SA how long you are going to wait for it. you will receive a confirmation of your order. no need to pay it right away. you will pay when you pick up your bag =) you can get your birkin as early as 6 months to 2 years. really depends on the SA or gano ka ka-VIP hehe.

A Birkin is worth waiting for.  I am a believer of -  All comes to those who wait -- hahaha, as far as Birkins are concerned.

You do not have to plunk even 1 pisong duling when you place your order.  And when they call you to pick up your bag  - and it isn't what  you exactly ordered - no sweat -  clarify your order, wait again - and they can easily  sell to someone  who doesn't care to wait and will take any Birkin. 

Tell them at GB3 you will take anything - chances are, you will get it in 6 mos.

My current order is gonna arrive in a couple of months - daw.  Have been waiting for over a year already.  Just placed  order for a black gold hardware 30 Kelly in togo.  Now, lt's see how long that will take. . 

No you cannot order here and pick it up there coz it's cheaper there - darling, tinanggalan mo naman ng kita.   Lol.

If you will take anything, or if you research and are able to specify the colors coming out 6 mos down - you wil get your order in  6 mos. 

The Hermes  here can't even say exactly what they will get till 6 mos before delivery - when they are  given a list.    But every Jan. When they go over to Paris - they give the list  of all orders.  They never get exactly what they  order - not exactly:  number-wise and/or colors. 

Do you need to be a VIP to get a Birkin?  Heck, no.  You just have to be assessed by the staff here  as a serious buyer. LOL.  Besides, they know VIPs have other sources - kung sino mauna to call them  - they buy there.   

BUT it sure is easier to get one where the crowd just passes through - Vegas, the Maldives.

^Thanks again, vhanya! I "liked" their page in FB because I'm trying to educate myself with the different kinds of leather and hardware (there are a lot pala!) Para naman when I step in their store hindi naman ako mukhang walang alam. But in fairness the SAs in Paris are very accommodating according to my staff who was there recently.

depends on the season to get a birkin. usually the workshop closes during july/august (craftsmen on holiday) so stocks are limited to non-existent during that time til september. during other months of the year, stocks depend on the time. minsan, it is a matter of chance hehe. better to ask them upfront when you go to the store =)

^Grabe sis I spent the whole afternoon reading the link you gave. Nagka Hermes overload ako! 
I still have a lot to learn talaga. I love looking at the pictures posted by B owners. Na-appreciate ko the different kinds of leather. Medyo na narrow down ko na rin what I want. I am just hoping when I get to their store merong available. But in the meantime, aral-aral muna and ipon-ipon more!

Lol, Vhanya - pareho ata tayo ng wishlist!  I have had my name on 5 lists for over a year.   - I have been called and offered different blues - I declined all. Patigasan talaga, sabi nila discontinued.  I always say - so create another one.

I said I will take it whatever the hardware.  .

Well - 1 store called me  long distance just last week  - a bag in a very similar color is arriving for me Aug or Sept.  so, I will see if Christmas arrives early this  year.  To see is to believe - I have been disappointed 3x na.  Wrong blues. .
