hi mommy khriseeee,
yung sinasabi mo yata is yung "tong-thiong". nilulutuan kasi ako ngayon ng father-in-law ko sa claypot, every two weeks daw iinom, 2 batch pa, unang kulo and yung 2nd na kulo. para yung black na maliliit na uod na iboboil mo sa chicken based soup for 10 hours. tapos ang lasa is parang "si-but" na medyo mapait at black din ang color. mahal din ang bili nila sa HK...im not sure kung same sa sinasabi mo,,,=)

hi mommy m_lim!
we also had the red coral bracelet when we were babies. hindi naman daw nag-tuturn white sabi ni mommy. they buy those red corals sa ongpin, yung kakilala/ trusted nga lang nila. tapos nung nag-1yo na daw kami, pinagawan na niya ng chinese gold bracelet yung mga red-corals namin. my mommy believe na ang chinese gold nakakapag-drive off ng mga bad spirits daw...ewan ko ba, pero up to now, i still believe. i still wear a bracelet, chain nga lang pero chinese gold pa rin.

hi mommy LC!

sis akiteklea yup! It smells like sibut it tastes like spoiled si-but yuck! hahahha I love sibut pa naman. Most probably we're talking about the same thing, basta it's 3 doses to be taken before 45 days after giving birth.

sis m_lim my MIL bought my daughter in law's coral bracelet in ongpin. It used to be sold per piece or per strand but now it's sold based on weight.

Wag lang daw masyado marami sibut. I only drink twice a month.

Please don't drink too much si-but! I personally know someone who suffered a miscarriage after drinking si-but, and wag muna mga herbal meds unless proven during Preggy better to be safe than sorry ;) may nag advice din sa akin before not to drink si-but during pregnancy..

1. No bath for a month! Punas-punas ng mainit na tubig lang. - YES!

2. Twice a day, sit on boiled guava leaves. - Yes, I also used boiled water with bayabas leaves to wash down there.

3. Eat lapu-lapu, cook in soup with ginger to heal the stitches in your belly (for caesarian operations) and stitches in your pep_   (for normal delivery). I actually researched on why this works (siyempre, when it comes to pep_ matters, everything matters!). Apparently, lapu-lapu is rich with omega 3 fish oil , which is enhances tissue repair in our bodies. - Yes. Lapu-lapu is a favorite so I love this with ginger, and if I'm lucky, I get it with taosi too!

4. Drink Seravallo wine. This is made from the bark of a tree in Brazil which is very rich in Iron.  Broken sleep patterns from breastfeeding or taking care of the baby makes you lose a lot of iron in your body. Seravallo replenishes your iron. It is safe for nursing mothers because it is more of a medicinal tonic than a wine. - Nope, haven't heard of this.

5. Eat soups with lots of ginger and drink hot chocolate with native egg. Again this is to eliminate the cold in your body. Chocolate is warm. Sweets are warm. And ginger is the warmest. Avoid cold foods like radish, cucumber, carrots, salads, cold water, ice cream, sodas, and softdrinks. - YES. I love chocolate so this is a pleasure for me to do.

6. After giving birth and on your first four weeks after birth, wear a binder or a girdle even when you go to sleep. - Yes. Pero di ako nakakatagal. I cheat and take it off when I'm too sweaty na.

7. If you can, breastfeed. It will be great for your baby and for yourself too. - Most definitely, although di ako nakaka ebf ng matagal. Hope I do better this time though.

I will be doing this. Wala naman mawawala if I follow this. Eventhough walang scientific basis, takot ako mabinat. Next, I think kahit papano may basis din kasi before mas hinde sila sakitin. Although I will be undergoing a CS operation, doing this will also help sa recovery ko, healing ng sugat and no need to take a bath so di ko na kaialangan intindihin hopefully any infection.

According to the mom of my friend, dami ng pwedeng bilhan sa binondo na ready made na. Papakuluan na lang daw. Hinde na shang kasi hirap as before.

Grayce and m_lim

By binder, do you mean the maternity belt at mother care?  I might end up with CS kasi breech parin si baby.

Grayce, I kind of agree with you.  I have a thing with being clean, even my work place and my home are super clean so this will be an issue with me if MIL would force me to follow this.  I don't think my mom followed this and though she did have varicose veins, they were easily eradicated with sclerotherapy and laser.

There are family members who did follow this, and they strongly believe nga that strictly following this will have long term benefits. I will probably stay home for awhile.

I also want sibut, i hope MIL prepares something for me like she did for my SIL.

Not looking forward to practicing gelai again but the consolation is that it will be cooler (in Dec) rather than my first time which was in March!

Will be staying at my in-laws again for my gelai - my MIL will take care of everything all my food, meds and massages.
