^sis, do you plan to use it as soon as you land?  Is this booster seat the one for cars or bosster seat for dining?  I ask because it also depends whether you intend to use it as soon as you land.

^^My suggestion is to place it inside a nylon drawstring bag (instead of a clear plastic bag) so you can still check it in without worrying that the bag will tear; at the same time it would be easy for you to whip it out once your car arrives.  The drawstring bag will also be easy to roll up and pack away without taking up too much space.

Ate Hapi: I don't know if he's automatically considered a Dual Citizen or if we have to apply pa. Kasi from what I read, if both the parents are natural-born Filipinos, parang the kid is sort of considered a Dual Citizen na (?).

you need to file a Report of Birth at the Phil. Consulate which has jurisdiction over the state where your son was born.

hi! hope someone would enlighten me about some things =)

My baby & I are traveling to US soon and this would be her first plane ride... I am planning to bring kasi the booster car seat. I plan to check it in... question ko is saan ko kaya ilalagay yun? in a clear big plastic kaya ok na or i need to box it pa? anybody here who bought a booster seat? pano nyo sya ni-pack? TIA! 

How old is your child and what type of booster ito? First, you need to find out if the booster is ok to use legally in the US. Child passenger safety laws kasi are somewhat strict. Like European car seats, bawal sa US. So it actually might better serve your purpose to not bring a seat and have your relatives sa US buy a seat sa US and install it in the car pag sundo sa inyo.
Pangalawa, baggage is handled very roughly. If you don't pack it well, it might get damaged along the way. I suggest a box with packing peanuts para maski ihagis hagis nila, hindi ma-d-damage yung booster.

^^ My son was born in Seattle and they say ang nearest embassy is in Los Angeles. Kahit na we're based in the Philippines now, we should fly back to LA again or can we do the transaction here instead? Thanks.

I'm not too sure about that. For Seattle, you'll have to register sa Phil. Consulate in San Francisco. But everything is done by mail naman although you will most probably have to file for an affidavit of delayed registration din. Kailangan din notarized yon. Ask siguro DFA or NSO.

Yung sa baby ko dati di na ako lumabas ng car, si hubby lang ang pumasok at nagapply para sa passport niya

when i applied for my son's passport hindi ko na sya sinama and like what i've said here nasa priority line pako so in less than an hour natapos ko lahat.

mommy or daddy pwede kumuha ng passport ni baby not necessarily both of them need to be there for the application of the passport of their baby.

my son and i will travel next week. 3.5 hours lang naman byahe pero medyo natatakot pa rin ako though second time na namen together to travel without my hubby or his lola.  i just hope matulog lang uli sya the whole flight and wag naman sana uli magkasakit after the flight mas mahirap kasi yun.

kami pabalik ng singapore first time namin na 'cruising stage' si baby.. buti na lang nakuha namin ang front row seats kaya meron play area si baby at nakatulog nung nag dedescend na ang plane... hirap din pala pag toddler na noh? likot sobra.. dami toys at pampaaliw ang kelangan ibaon..

my child is 2 y/o.  The car booster seat we have here came from US, so I don't think there would be any problems with regards to child law safety. The reason why I needed to bring it kasi yung friend namin who'll pick us up doesn't have a child so I have to provide. Also, we will be staying in that state for a couple of days lang and then we will fly to another state again kaya it would be practical to buy one there pero this time hindi na namin dadalhin yung booster seat sa domestic flight kasi yung pupuntahan naming next has already a car booster seat to provide.

where can I buy kaya yung drawstring nylon bag? that's a nice idea. wala bang provided na plastic or something yung mga airlines for this? someone told me parang meron daw pero hindi din kasi sya sure.

^Sis, sa domestic flight namin noon via Southwest, may binigay yung Southwest na plastic bag.  But yung carseat kasi nun na dala namin, may plastic container na eh.  Yung sa flight out namin from Pinas to US via Cathay, parang walang prinovide na bag.  Pero I'm not sure kasi what we did was buy the carseat from the US na.  Wala kaming dala in other words.  My sister had one when we got there that my Mom bought from a garage sale, for our use nga when we visited.  Pero we didnt like it so we just went out and bought one.  Pauwi naman, naka box na sya so I really dont know if Cathay provides the bags.  Si Southwest (and I guess other domestic airlines) kasi iba talaga handling nila ng carseat...kasi common nga na nagdadala siguro yung travelers ng carseats.  They have a separate claim area for it.

^ thanks sis! I'll be bringing the booster seat naman from here to US tapos iiwan ko din sya dun sa port of entry namin so hindi ko na sya problem when flying domestically. I'm not sure if airlines here sa pinas give out that plastic para sa booster seat. siguro what I will do na lang is to bring one na din just in case.  thanks tlaga for replying! =) Now all I have to do is to find a clear plastic bag to contain it... medyo malaki kasi. if I put it naman sa black trash bag baka pagkamalang basura eh itapon nila =)
