I want to know more about the potential for career growth at SM. For example, if you're a Supervisor, how long will it usually take to be promoted to Manager? Kung maganda naman ang performance mo, will it take you more than 3 years to be promoted?

How is the org structure like? Is it VP-manager-supervisor-assistant? Where does the "officer" level fall under?

When you say supervisor is it really a supervisory position meaning you have people under you?

Sa department namin before (Design & construction), structure is like this:

Sy's heir-VP-Asst VP-Regional Design Manager- Manager-Officer

So there you go. As you can see, the Sy's are very hands-on. Madalas sila pa yung nauuna pumasok sa office and nahuhuli umuwi.

I used to be an officer sa dept namin and was the lowest in this structure. Wala akong mautusan na mas mababa pa sa akin. Ako mismo yung parang messenger/runner. And to think, hindi ko naman na dapat trabaho yun kasi it's very time consuming and nauubos na time ko for the more important technical work in my job description.

How long should I wait for a job offer? It's been a week since my final interview. During my final interview, the SVP told me to wait for the call of HR the next day. I haven't received any calls from HR at all. It's so frustrating already. I actually have a job offer already from another company and the salary I think is higher than what SM can offer me. But I really want a career in retail and my existing job offer is in a different field that's why I'm still waiting for a response from SM. I'm actually willing to give up a few thousand pesos in salary so I can work in a field I want (retail).

Do you guys think I should call HR already and ask them if my application is successful or not? What's taking them so long to accept or reject me? The whole application process and endless interviews have taken up 2 months already.

Hello po. Nagaapply po ako now sa SM Rosario as HR Assistant. Tanong ko lang po kung gaano katagal ang process and magkano po kaya ang range ng sahod? Salamat po sa sasagot.

^ Sis cheynne sa foreign exchange counter/booth assigned pag sinabing treasury assistant-forex. Basically, ang work description mo is magpalit ng other currencies like dollar, euro, yen etc. to philippine peso.  Eto yun first job ko after graduating from college.

I finally got a job offer as a Selling Department Supervisor. I'm still undecided. Anyone here knows what a typical work day as an SDS is like? Sobrang nakakapagod ba talaga and nakatayo ka lang all day? I came from another industry but I'm thinking of a career change and I want to try Retail/Fashion. This is a good starting point right? How about career growth? Will it take me years to be promoted to manager?

1. ano po yung key responsibilities as a credit assistant?
2. magkano po salary offer for the said position?
3. how interviews are done? or lets say the whole application process.
4. yung position po bang ito sa mall mismo or sa office ng sm sa moa ang assignment?

Hi mga sis! question lang bout job interviews with SM, do you have any experience with SM Advantage Mktg Convergence? Nag apply kasi ako doon for graphic artist/photographer position.  Once pa lang ako nainterview and HR palang nakausap ko. Til now wala pang kumocontact sakin.. lol. Tsaka di nila hiningi portfolio ko non lol sabi lang sakin ng HR yung parang editor something nila ang magchecheck sa susunod na contackin nila ako. Mag 2 weeks na wala ako nareceive na call from them so nag followup ako pero wala nama ding reply. Nabasa ko na medyo matagal pala talaga ang hiring process nila? Same din ba yun sa SM Advantge dep?  Thanks po sa mga sasagot

Hi everyone! I am scheduled for an interview on Monday at SM Investment. I have already taken the exam (IQ, personality, and essay test) and was interviewed by an HR (it took only 5 minutes so I guess that's an initial interview). The HR told me that they'll text me after the election and thankfully, they did. I'm a fresh graduate and I think he assigned me to Finance Department (which I requested). Now my question is, is it really true that I have to go through another 2-3 interviews if ever I passed the one on Monday? I'm not good with interviews.

The hiring process varies in terms of processing time but on an average, it really takes weeks to months. A series of interviews is a given. For key managerial positions (for example, a Mall Manager), this usually includes interviews with the top executive of the company. This is one of the reasons why interview process takes a while. It's normal to wait talaga. What you can do is to check with HR when you can expect feedback or the next schedule and follow up from there.

For entry-level positions, it would be normal to have 2-3 interview sets before they decide.

If the ad did not reflect the responsibilities of the position you are applying for, you're free to ask your interviewer naman for clarification.

Hi! When was your last interview? Naka-tatlong interview na ko. Entry level lang naman inaapplyan ko so tingin ko final na yung last. "I think" I did okay naman. But I'm worried because normally diba after you've passed the final interview, they'll give you the requirements. Pero di ako binigyan ng list ng requirements tapos last Monday yung interview ko, wala pading text ngayon. Maybe I flunked? Hahaha or do you think I should wait for the text?

^How did they end the interview? It's not always naman that the requirements are given immediately after the final interview. If the HR wasn't present, the last interviewer will prepare your evaluation and send the recommendation to HR. They will process approval to hire you pa and then saka ka pa lang ico-contact to give you the offer. The requirements are given only when you decide to accept the offer. So don't worry too much especially if you think you performed well.

If it has been a week already, it's okay to send them a follow-up email to inquire about the status and remind lang that you are very much interested in the position.

Madami pang interview na sumunod haha! But because of God's grace, tapos na po ako sa job offer. My application took one and half a month din.
