pia, ask ko yung friend kong pedia sabi nya okay lang naman daw yung pedzinc vitamins na ibigay once a day.  And binibigay kapag may diarrhea is yung pure zinc lang.

Para maiwasan naman ang anemia, ang nirecommend ng pedia ni Yuel is yung Ferlin drops, continous ang inom nya nun simula 6mons hanggang ngayon.

Symptoms ng anemia in babies/ toddlers:

• Paleness
• Irritability
• Weakness
• Fatigue
• Shortness of breath
• Rapid heart rate
• Swelling of the hands and feet
• Enlarged spleen
• Dark urine

thanks luz! pure zinc pala pag diarrhea.. so far wala naman sa mga symptoms na yan akong nakikitaan kay kyle.. although subukan pa din namin ialternate ang pedzinc and normal ceelin.. meron na din kasing ceelinz with zinc..

oo uso na yung may zinc ngayon.  kaso di daw masyado masarap yung lasa pag may zinc e.  Product namin yung cherifer, per survey di masyado saleable yung with zinc ng cherifer ewan ko lang sa ibang brands.

hapee mamee, good to hear na effective propan sa baby mo sana magtuloy tuloy na.  Sa baby ko effective din propan kashit every other day lang ang inom.  Pumayat lang ulit kase teething.

Zinc may be given daily, either as a single mineral or as part of a vitamin preparation for a maximum of 2 months at a time.
The maintenance dose is different from the therapeutic dose (treatment dose during illness, true zinc deficiency, acrodermatitis enteropathica, etc.).
The RDA of zinc varies as per the age and gender of the child:

 For infants 3 to 6 months of age:  2mg/day of daily intake of zinc
 In children from 7 months to 3 years, the RDA of zinc is 3 mg/day
 Between 4-8 years of age, the RDA of zinc is 5mg/day
 Between 9-13 years of age, the RDA of zinc is 8 mg/day
 After 14 years of age, the RDA of zinc is 11mg/day in males and 8-9mg/day in females.
 During pregnancy, RDA of zinc increases by 3mg/day and during lactation increases by 4mg/day

Too much zinc can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, respiratory problems, anemia (pale child with failure to gain weight, etc.).
Zinc can also interact with other meds, like copper and iron. So if your baby is taking Iron and copper supplements as well, it is best to have at least 2 hours spacing in between the 3 supplements.
Studies show that maraming uses ang zinc when it comes to illness like diarrhea, pneumonia, PTB, wound healing like in diaper rashes (diaper creams like desitin, calmoseptine, etc. contain zinc oxide), malnutrition and even the common cold kaya nga ang daming lumalabas na zinc preparations now.

Thanks for the detailed info sis let. I decided to alternate pedzinc with ceelin na lang. Factor pala ang poor weight gain and vomiting pag too much zinc.

i started ALIVE last thursday.. and till today we can say improved ang milk intake nya. ilang beses din syang nakastraight ng 5oz,,yeheeeyyy!! dati kasi lagi lang syang hanggang 2-3oz then stop na. and another factor pa pala, i changed the nipple from level 2 to level 3.. though last month i already try to change the nipple pero ayaw nya pa, so binalik ko ulit sa level 2,,pero now ok na sa kanya yung 3.. sana magtuloy tuloy..may ganun na rin kasi syang case dati, na nung first two weeks lang sya may improvement then the following weeks, no significant change again..

ngayon nga tulog na sya, binuhat ko para ayusin higa,, medyo nabigatan ako hehe..

now i understand what's all the hype with propan is about raving about it too. na-try namin heraclene too. pero mas naging okay effect sa kanya ng propan eh.

yung pagbigat niya, kita mo agad sa katawan and pagbuhat pa lang, no need to check the scales nga eh. galing!
increased intake sa milk (progress gold) and rice. he doesn't like any other milk kasi, sabi ng pedia, higher fat content daw sana yung Anchor, pero di niya gusto eh. he doesn't like Milk choco drinks sa tetrapak too. kaya okay muna kami sa Propan

^ sabi ni developmental pedia, wag daw ng chocolates, coke (or any softdrinks siguro), coffee  or even mocca flavored foods... para daw hindi lalong maging hyper si baby..and itcan cause ADHD din daw.. though im not sure kung pareho lang yun sa 3 yrs old.. kasi that time 7 months old pa lang si baby..

^^ then maybe you can try visit the dev ped, sis? ask the pedia for some referrals or check out the thread about developmental pedia's here. im sure matutulungan ka ng dev ped on what kind of approach your son needs or whether he needs professional help or whatever. have him assessed first, sis, lalo na its already affecting you physically.

na-discuss mo ba yung pag-inom ni baby mo ng alive?? pano dosage mo? ilang caps/day? sa milk mo mix? di nya pansin ang taste? how old is your baby? wala pa syang 1 yr old di ba?

we take alive tablets kasi not the veggie caps ha..  gusto ko din sana bigyan ang baby namin..but i-co-convince ko pa ang hubby ko.

si gianna kasi malakas naman mag-milk..nakaka-ubos ng 8oz in one sitting..every 4-5 hours ang interval.. she's 8months 3 weeks na.. malakas din mag-solid food..pero ang katawan nya petot/payatin... eh kaming dalawa ni hubby tabachoy.. so hindi naman siya low appetite...mapayat lang talaga.. nape-pressure din kasi ako ng mga in laws ko na mapayat si gianna..
my parents kasi ok lang kahit ganun katawan ni gianna kasi maliksi.. mabilis kumilos..pag hiniga mo babalikwas kaagad para umupo.

ive tried different vitamins to my kid who is 2 years old and 2 months so far hiyang sa pediafortan AS  and ceelin plus malakas na mag milk at solids tsaka pag hapon tagal ng sleep nya mga 4 hours

yung alive is like a veggie supplement.. may infomercial nyan before sa cable.. sa isang shopping network..anyway..30 caps costs around P3,000 mahal sya..pero kami online kami bumibili via vitacost.com.. they have tablets and veggie caps dun at a much cheaper price
as per chismis ni hubby who has a friend who sells alive veggie caps here  in manila (marketing ek-ek din kasi yung alive eh) they changed the name from alive to ___ i forgot the name eh.. it is being sold by a networking company called AIM global yata..google mo na lang..dami yata nagbebenta nito even sa ebay.ph.
sa totoo lang my hubby swears by this vitamin. kasi hinde na sya nagkakasakit.. may energy sya..basta if you read up on alive ok sya. .even his mom and his dad umiinom nito...ako paminsan minsan lang kasi inaatake ako ng lamon kapag nagiging consistent ang inom ko nito. kaya pa every other day lang inom ko or when im feeling sick.

parang nagbebenta ako noh?? sorry po..pero im not selling this ha? we take it kasi. we take the tablets not the veggie caps.

sis liyapot,, yes sis..nabanggit ko ki pedia yung alive..and ok lang din naman daw.. ang vitamins daw po kasi e hiyangan rin sa mga babies.. as to the taste, hindi ko pa personally natikman, pero siguro walang lasa yun o hindi masama ang lasa, kasi last saturday we attended a kids party, yaya forgot to bring plain water..lahat ng bottles na nasa bag e may alive mixture, so yun ang pinainom namin sa kanya after eating chicken, and uminom sya. ok lang sa kanya. knowing my baby, ngumingiwi mukha nya pag hindi masarap ang food. tikman ko nga mamya. hehe

sis juliahart, nadiscuss na po ni sis liya kung ano ang alive hehe.. and yung alive po namin e nakuha ko sa networking.. kaka 9 months lang po ni baby last sunday.. i started giving it to her 3 days before sya mag nine. actually po yung product is nabili ko pa nung april.. 6 months old nun si baby.. i had a chance to chat with sis yapeegurl before. and nabanggit nya yung alive na binibigay nya ki kyle and prescribed by dra chen.  so ako nga po, as i said, so desperate ako na palakasin intake ni baby, after ng chat namin nun, tinawagan ko si friend ko na tagal ng nag ooffer sakin nun at sabi ko bibili na nga ako. i forgot how much exact ko nabili yun,,around 8k yata..when it comes to my baby kasi ewan ko ba, nothing is expensive for me..kung yun ang makakatulong sa kanya, why not. so in short nakabili na ako. pero hindi ko pa yun binigay, i consulted it with our pedia GI, then hindi GO sa kanya yun.. so hindi ko muna binigay..sa isip ko naman e 6 months old lang si baby and kyle is 1 yr old na, i can wait na lumaki laki pa si baby before giving it. i bought it kasi prescribed by a good pedia and ok yung result ki kyle. then last check up namin i brought it up our new pedia, and ok naman sa kanya.. but i waited na matapos yung sked ng ferlin para yun na ang kapalit nya. ang ginagawa namin, dissolve yung powder inside the capsule to 8oz water . kina sis yapee, one oz with mixture ang halo sa milk, pero kasi nga hindi naman si baby nakaka 8 bottles a day, kaya ginawa kong 2oz per bottle para siguradong maubos nya sa isang araw yung one capsule. PAGE po natin si sis yapeegurl para mas maexplain nya hehe. perosis, regarding sa small intake, ok alng daw yun basta frequent feeding naman.

sa price naman, mahal nga yung alive dito sa philippines compare sa bili nila sis yapee sa abroad. ang laki ng difference.

but better ask your pedia also. kasi ako, dami ko natutunan dito. anything na nalalaman ko na baka pwede rin ki baby, nireresearch ko rin,,nagtatanong tanong, google, then pag convinced na ko, inoopen ko sa current pedia namin kung ok lang din ba.

weigh ko si baby, nag gain sya ng 100 gms sa 4 days hehe..sana lang magtuloy tuloy. kasi baka mamya hanggang 2 weeks lang na naman ang effect sa kanya..kasi gaya nung cellife dati, bumilog sya sa two weeks, then balik sa dati.. pero full of energy naman sya kahit ganun. minsan nga naiisip ko, what if mas malakas sya mag feed, mas mabigat, mas malikot kesa ngayon,,baka walang tatagal na yaya sa kanya. one time, ako lang talaga humawak sa kanya maghapon, kinagabihan, nagpamasahe na ako ng kamay ko, kasi yung wrist ko, parang may nadislocate na. either mali lang ang hawak ko sa kanya o talaga lang na malikot hehe
